The Experience is dramatically different, almost like a new car! I was freaked out while installing it, but then it just boots up and you're running! Please do an indepth review of the unit. With regards to steering controls working. Also if you going to put in an amp or reverse camera in the future, it would be nice to see if it works.
will try to make a follow up video when im free, steering controls all work and can be reprogramed through the settings. A reverse camera is a straight plug in, there are kits that replace one of the license plate lights in there rear. I was stupid and didn't order one before i installed the headunit and now i can't be bother taking everything apart hahaha

For wired CarPlay, you just need to purchase the head unit itself but for wireless CarPlay you need to purchase a wireless CarPlay adapter, plenty of options to choose from, carplay2air is a pretty well known seller but is pricer than Ali express sellers but has quicker shipping :)

Scrolled and saw a previous comment - Comes with it’s own 2 USB female cables that you can run to anywhere. I have mine run to inside the glovebox and under where the original AUX port is. And then I simply just plug my lightning cable into it and bang u got CarPlay. Super simple!

this model possibly could fit but it depends on what colour your current CD player is, if it’s black it won’t. Also depends on your interior options as well and the type of AC controls. It definitely is challenging taking apart the car but the installation process for the new headunit is PLUG AND PLAY! all you need to do is find the right connectors and link them up.

@@antoniomartinlucena8141 personally i just use spotify and google maps through Apple CarPlay which is powered by your iPhone and I have had 0 complaints or issues. Apple has done well with CarPlay! If you were to use the built in GPS app on the android headunit, you will have to either be connected to WIFI or use a hotspot to ur headunit which I don't recommend doing as it is just a hassle, use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto instead. Also there is no sim for the radio, it just uses wifi or ur phone's hotspot. Hope that helped!

No instructions came in it, you only have to connect the main harnesses and the rest are optional depending on what accessories you’d like to use. Recommend contacting the seller for more information if you need a break down of all the cables :)
I totally want to install this but I’m super worried the speedometer won’t work properly. Does it actually display the current speed or is it just for decoration
speedo stills works as normal. You can also get a digital reading on the RPM gauge on most minis by pressing the BC button on the indicator stalk so you don't even need to look at the middle speedo but regardless it still works
have had no issues, i run similar android headunits in multiple cars and have no issues once installed correctly. They are such amazing devices and makes any car a modern vehicle
when you say your plugging your phone in, are u plugging it into the stock usb port, aux port, the port infront of the shiftor, or does it come with its own port of some kind?

Sound quality is the same upon installation but if you play around with the EQ presets and audio settings, you can really improve the sound from the stock speakers
yes screen can turn off through a software button built into the OS and the brightness can be adjusted manually through the OS but it does so automatically when u turn ur headlights on since its connected to the CANBUS system
Hey man how’s the unit holding up? I wanna do this with my mini but honestly torn between just getting a standard double din headunit and installing it with the metra kit for the mini or going this way as it’s a much nicer looking upgrade doing the whole speedometer. I wish there was an alternative to this as I’d prefer to purchase a reputable brands stereo
hey bro, the headunit is holding up great! These android headunits are no joke, the quality is top notch and really makes it feel like an OEM experience, even tho it has much more hidden goodies. Since its running android OS u can legit do anything an android smartphone can, just built into your car. I'll try do a follow up vid soon when i'm free :)

No need to worry as it’s linked to the canbus system. In my opinion, it’s actually easier to read than the OEM gauge. And you always have the range display option in the tachometer anyways to see how much fuel you have left if you’re extra worried

Yes, it runs Android so the settings are just like any android smartphone, though if you struggle to navigate them you can always use the Google Translate app and use the camera to navigate the settings until you find the language settings to change it to English :)
it’s running Android 10.0, so just going into settings and find the language setting. If you struggle to find it use the Google translate app with the camera feature to understand the UI.

Nope, all of those buttons work and you can reprogram them via the settings to whatever you wish :))

you can flash your own updates and OS onto it if you wish but it is a fairly complicated task from what ive heard
