Drums are used to produce powerful rhythms and beats that are vital to many different Cambodian art forms. There are many different styles of the drum which are played on various occasions. This piece includes many different types Cambodian traditional drums such as Yike drum, Chhayyam drum, Skor Dai (hand drum), Skor Thom (big drum) and more. Each type of drum has its own distinct sound and beat, and the drummers play in response to one another. Together this combines into a melody called So Samleng Skor, which literally means the melody of drums. This piece is created by H.E. Prof. Hun Sarin.
