Hadron Engine works regardless of if the mon is grounded, being in the air gets rid of the electric terrain protection of being put to sleep.
what about the electric type move boost? i think that also only applies if the pokemon is grounded.

@@TinyyyTinaaa Yeaaah, tbh this could have been pretty important, because Alolan Meowth I believe can be encountered Earlier, and because of that, it’s the only pokemon in that location to be new. (I believe the trainer school is the first place you can encounter Alolan grimer.) Due to this, Any Poison or Dark Ability Muk can go hard. My personal favorite is Unaware via Clodsire, makes this thing an absolute unit, that or Regenator for this thick boi to get some good healing (The fact that this thing doesn’t get recover is odd in my opinion.)

It does spawn there. You can fight it once while doing the lake trio trials.

I guess another ability from someone in the same location would be fitting and more difficult locations get more alternatives, though it depends if the legendaries have good or bad abilities how much it balances that.
Lol, "Technically Tobin was wrong, you can't find Alolan Grimer at the Pokémon Mansion in Generation 1, you find Alolan Grimer at "Trainers' School, Hau'oli City and Malie City" in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon." Not that I actually care, just thought it as soon as I saw the Grimer was Alolan and it made me giggle a bit and I wanted to be a SLIGHT, VERY VERY VEEERRRYYY SLIGHT Smart-a** for just a sec. xD Anyways, love the video, keep it up, they are ALWAYS so interesting, fun and entertaining to watch. Here's a cool idea for a video.
Both you and your opponent get 8 abilities to use throughout the randomized starter selection these are the abilities and rules
4 Offensive abilities that will effect your opponents selection
Swap-after your opponent selects a pokemon you can swap it with another pokemon thats in front of you.
Sabotage-the pokemon your opponent chooses can only use 3 skills the 4th one is locked
Butter fingers - no held items allowed for the pokemon your opponent selects
Handicapped-one of the base stats of the pokemon your opponent chooses must be set to 0, it is up to the opponent to choose. (Can not be special or physical attack)
(Bonus) depending on if you choose to play this with hidden starters or allowing your opponent to know what the starters are.
Reveal - does what the name says. Forces your opponent to tell you all the starters truthfully
Hidden - allows you to not have to say the starts in front of you and makes your opponent guess randomly
4 abilities that will benefit your selection
Retrain - allows you to distribute the base stats around as you please, as long as the BST stays the same
Ascend-allows you to use any ability you want on your pokemon you choose.
Type change- allows you to change a single typing of your pokemon you chose
Counter - allows you to nullify a single negative ability your opponent uses when you select your pokemon.

It is bay-gon according to the anime but Pokemon name pronunciation isn’t really set in stone
This is 1 million percent not a real reason, but it would be really funny if the localizer named it bay-gon based on Aegon Targaryen from the Game of Thrones books
English grammar dictates it SHOULD be pronounced "b-ay-gon".
Where two vowels are separated by a single consonant, the first vowel is pronounced as though it was an individual letter.
There are very few words that do not follow this rule.
Also accents, cultural inflections on linguistics and a lack of education can leave people wrongly believing and using incorrect grammar.
Btw, the name ‘Bagon’ is a combination of Baby and Dragon, so it is pronounced Bay-Gon, not Bagh-on. It literally doesn’t matter tho do whatever you want

Fun fact meowscarada is pretty broken with their signature move, flower trick, it can do like 1150 ish damage to the opponent assuming near perfect prerequisites met not including the damage mults (+spe atk)

I was kinda hoping you would use locations of the actual evolved Pokémon instead of their pre-evo. Would have been a bit more interesting.
New video idea: Have the other person pick your pokemon knowing fully what they are(not their movesets though), and at the end you reveal that they have to use the team they picked for the other person. (this would be best done if between two other people that don't know whats happening)
Y'all should do a Monty Hall style starters selection. Person selecting blindly chooses one of the three starters, then the other person reveals one of the other two Pokemon, then the first person has the option to stick with their first choice or blindly swap to the other one.

Tobin could have easily gotten Slacking with any ability. Petalburg woods only has 2 new pokemon spawns. Wurmple, Zigzagoon, and Poochyena can all be found in earlier routes.

4. May be bulk up or other status move .

Just a heads up if you want a defensive tera type on urshifu dark typically poison will give you the most milage, you resist both fighting and fairy and people are unlikely to hit your dark type with a psychic attack.

Quick and legit question, and I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it to convey what I want to know but, how can I tell if a Pokemon is meant to be a physical attacker, special attacker, physical defender, special defender, status mon or setup mon? Not sure if that's enough clarification for what I'm asking. I ask because I always hear Dylan, Shady, Tobin, Luke, Patterz, Vinny, Rich and Frank (sorry if I missed any Poketubers in your friend circle that I failed to mention) say "This Pokemon is a physical attacker" or "This is a Special Defense Mon" and I want to know how you can tell which role each Pokemon is meant to be.
look at their base stats. some pokemon like blissey have an insane stat imbalance towards one stat. Also if you search up “pokemon name Smogon” it will tell you a commonly used set on that pokemon
Generally speaking, whichever stats are the highest for attacker/defender clarifications. Setup pokemon have moves like dragon dance, quiver dance, swords dance, calm mind, etc. that boost their stats. Support pokemon usually have support moves like spore, thunder wave, parting shot, tailwind, spikes, etc. and are usually bulky enough to not instantly die.
@@caledvwych1366 How do I know which mons would be best as setup mon? Doesn't most Pokemon have setup moves that can be used as a setup mon? Is it based on how many setup moves the mon can learn?
@@darksheikgamingIt generally comes down to a few things. What moves they get is a big one - there are pokémon like Garchomp that would 100% love to use Dragon Dance but can't because it doesn't learn it. Another requirement is that the set-up is generally worth it. Let's look at 2 very strong pokémon in OU right now: Alomomola and Hatterene.
Both of these pokémon learn Calm Mind, but only Hatterene uses it. Both of them are very defensive pokémon, but Alomomola only has base 40 Special Attack while Hatterene has 136, a LOT more. Hatterene has the potential to sweep teams with 1 or 2 Calm Minds up and gain back all its HP with Draining Kiss, while Alomomola does not have that option. Alomomola is much better used as a tank/support that can allow you to safely bring in a damage dealer/Sweeper
Very briefly, a pokémon that uses set-up should be able to deal a lot of damage and be durable enough to absorb a hit when the set-up is used or should be able to be faster and outspeed everything after it has used the set-up and hopefully 1-shot things. You never really want your whole team to be reliant on set-up, since it's very rare that you'll get the chance to set up, so you'll want some defensive pokémon/Scarfers to deal with an opposing set-up pokémon or similar roles that can help you get in a position to use something like Dragon Dance.
@@darksheikgaming Most pokemon do have setup moves they can take. So they can be used as either a setup mon or not. A good example for this would be a haxorus. You could run it either as a physical attacker with a set of attacking moves and probably either a choice band/scarf. Or, you could run it as a setup one that uses dragon dance and holds a life orb. It is really more of a which set you pick. Also, most setup mons are one of the other categories as well. It's kinda like an extra thing you can tack on, but it will still keep its other categorization.
