For me, Mr. Cesar E.A. Virata is one of the few who served the Philippine government so well and with honesty without enriching himself.

He didn't need to enrich himself.
He is a financial expert. he doesnt need billions of pesos
He would just teach, speak or do business and get them Pesoses for him to live a good life

The two Cojuangco-Aquino presidents (Cory and Noynoy), both rejected the offer of the cabinet secretaries of their predecessors to a smooth transition of government.
The Cory government rejected the offer of former Prime Minister Cesar Virata to a smooth transition of government.
When Noynoy Aquino became president, former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo suggested to brief him about the government in order to have a smooth transition, but Pres. Noynoy Aquino rejected the offer.
Whenever we went on vacation and somebody had to do some of our work, we had to brief him. What more of the presidency, which is a big job and responsibility.

In my perspective, Cesar Virata is the most intelligent prime minister of the Philippines like Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew.

So how can the Marcos steal if Cesar Virata says “NO” when asked if they can spend for particular project or thing?

Sampal sa mukha ng reporter ang truth about standing ng Philippines before, she's try to switch topic sa martial law. And try to make na meron kasalanan si Marco's. Ang yaman ng pilipinas nuon at hindi mka porma ang oligarch.

so, walanghiya din ang cory admin??! interviewer should have asked his opinion, Virata's, about the estimate of USD5-10billion made by Salonga ( in 1 month) supposedly looted by the marcose especially as no smooth transition wss allowed - , his opinion on the amount, where it came from, the veracity of the amount, how was it possible to loot them? More and more, parang drawing ito. maybe, that could be reason why nothing has been proven despite the best lawyers here and the US in the new york trial of the century. Fem had money but it was never proven to have come from govt coffers, but he was never allowed to come back and answer for himself in a court in the country. It will always be a black hole of assumptions and allegations.. Why are Virata & Sicat, Fem's top economic managers for over 10years and guardians of the coffers, well-respected? surely, with that enormous amount, (parang mathematically impossible considering amt of budgets and enormity of projects at that time), the looting done on the coffers would have been so apparent. they surely would have been implicated, too. but, instead, they are honored. it all does not add up. hmmm.....
