Toyota Tundras Overlanding Adventure Across Arizona | Epic Desert Expeditions!
In this video, we embark on a serene overlanding adventure as we take the first gen Tundras across the stunning Arizona wilderness. We've got two very different Tundras, Jason's full overland tundra with a Four Wheel Camper and my more stripped-down, simple tundra. Which truck do you like more? The simple ground tent or the big truck bed camper?
This video isn’t just about the thrill of offroading-it’s about slowing down, finding peace in nature, and experiencing the joys of camping under the stars in some of Arizona’s most beautiful landscapes.

Must-do Suspension Upgrades for First Gen (2000-2006) Toyota Tundras from Total Chaos Fabrication
มุมมอง 2.7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
I went to Total Chaos Fabrication to pick up my complete mid-travel suspension kit. Mike walked us through their entire lineup of first-gen Tundra products and explained why you should choose Total Chaos for your truck. I think their ball joint replacement uniball conversion is one of the best things you can do for your 1st Gen Toyota Tundra. We've all heard about or seen the ball joint failure...
Converting a Specialized Epic 8 into an Epic Evo Trail Shredder DREAM BUILD
มุมมอง 13K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I converted my Specialized Epic 8 into an Epic Evo trail shredder. I loved the Epic 8 but wanted to bridge the gap between my stumpy, so I broke it down (check out my build video on the Epic 8) and built it into a lightweight ripper. This bike absolutely eats up the trail while climbing like an XC bike. I highly recommend it if you haven't had a chance to ride an Epic Evo. I filmed this myself ...

I met up with my friend Tanner Kietzman ( labikewrench) to film a Dream Build video of his all-new 2025 Specialized Stumpjumper 15. This isn't the old stumpy; it's the brand-new model released today! The new Stumpjumper 15 has an unmatched combination of capability, control, and personalization. It has a 6-way geometry adjust, a 29” or mixed wheel, a tunable spring curve, and more....
Unboxing the all NEW Specialized EPIC 8 Expert XC bike!
มุมมอง 4.9K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
As some of you may know, I'm an ambassador for Specialized, and I just got my new Epic 8 Expert in! I couldn't be more stoked that this bike is an absolute XC beast. It will take over for my Diverge and Chisel as I'll be racing Mammoth Tuff in September on it. I've ridden my fair share of hardtails and XC bikes, and without a doubt, this one is my favorite. That "magic middle" setting everyone ...
A NEW DECKED 2.0 System for 2000 - 2006 First Gen Toyota Tundras!
มุมมอง 4.7Kปีที่แล้ว
Decked has never offered a drawer system for the first-generation Toyota Tundras (2000-2006) until now....sort of. So, I went back and forth with Decked to find the best option for the 1GT. Most people have been modifying the 2011 Ford F150 and Econoline Van drawers, but you must cut into the ammo cans and modify the entire top plate. The 2020-Current Toyota Tundra drawers are a near-perfect fi...

I’m beginning year three of my 1st gen tundra build and I just ordered TC UCA and LCA. This is an awesome video, I’m building mines exactly as you have shown. I’m 49 years old and this is my project vehicle, my uncle build hot rods, some of my friends old muscle cars and is all good but I want a totally restored and modified 1st gen tundra and I’m glad to have chosen TC for this part of my build.
Glad to see you're doing a build, it's a great platform!
If your econoline wanders on the road, your front radius arm bushings need tightening or replaced. Same problem the OBS trucks had with the TTB front suspension. You can actually see it when you back up, the front wheels will squat a little into the wheel wells.
As I said in the video I replaced the radius arms and bushings with weldtech ones
@ I heard that. My point was that you said econolines wander on the road. That’s usually one of the major reasons why.
What white grease did you use?
Superweb Grease
This a changer for those of us with 1st Gen Tundras with Access Cab. (Can’t speak for double cabs) . I notice that your system is XT3/XT4. You’re using the XT4. The manual shows 2020- to current. Now when you check for Tundra it shows 2020 and other years separately. But it is NOT the XT4. 2023 IS XT4. I’m hoping the current XT4 is the SAME XT4 that you’re using.
Yea I'm not sure what would have changed but might be worth reaching out to decked to confirm!
I loved seeing Hunter's Shop, I'm in SoCal now but J&S totally reminded me of the old skool speed shops back in Jersey. I can't believe J&S is in Santa Barbara, now that's what ya call a diamond in the rough. I'd expect to see J&S in a spot like El Cajon. Best of luck Hunter 🙏💪🤙✌️
J&S is a gem in Santa Barbara for sure
Did you have any problems with the cracked soft line on the power steering cooler? I did this mod and mine ended up leaking like crazy about a week later. Currently looking for replacement hoses and they don't seem to sell the soft line by itself so you have to buy the full assembly just for two small hoses.
Not at all, I made sure to not crank them too hard or put them in a precarious position.
@@brakeforsnakes Thanks for the response. If for some reason you do run into this problem in the future, Rock Auto has a power steering return hose assembly that includes these soft lines. BTW, the pizza cutters look rad on your first gen.
Turbo kit next
Sorry dude ya cant compare a two-wheel drive to a four-wheel drive. I'll take a 4 by 4 E-Series any day but to compare a useless weldtech junk to a 4x4 is just dumb
lol I sold my 4x4 quigley e350 for this van, try again.
If in cold climates deisel parking heater and solar panel would work a treat i use a vw transporter set up similar except its only low roof swb it works well for what it is I just wish when they brought it they. Ticked the diff lock box on order form as even being 4motion its a let down off road
My van is stock I had nothing but my recliner for one year no insulation on the walls and let me tell you guys this thing is cold , one morning I woke up and the ceiling was covered with ice I turned on my heater and I had rain it was miserable ,I used my van in all kinds of roads with no off road tires or lift kit it work really nice I wouldn't change anything besides the interior, just a simple camping van .
Cool build until hand guards! Lol
They’re an absolute necessity here in so cal
Nice aus rotten shirt! Cool van too
🤘🏻
There customer care is diabolical
What headset did you use and size
The one that came with the frame
An chance to Share the weight ? Thanks in advance
No idea
Really, really tough lookin' rig.
where did you get your angel eyes headlights from in the thumbnail?
They luckily don’t have angel eyes but they’re made by TEQ Customs
whats the rim size and offset or any spacers size if used please
17’s 0 offset and 2” spacers
@brakeforsnakes 2-inch spacers only for rear
@@Anjan-0103I can’t remember
appreciate for the reply thank you buddy
Are you thinking of a 4x4 conversion ?
No I sold my 4x4 van for this
Nice tshirts! especialy the first one🤘
Linda!
Nice / need beef up rear leaf springs
Nope it had the best leaf pack from weldtech built for the weight of the van
Those old Tundras truly punch above their weight - Bullet proof v8, American made and tough as nails!
Agreed!
Awesome trucks and scenery. Played at double time, the music is better. Especially the second song.
Rad Video! Love seeing those 1st gen Tundras rip.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great video what kind of headlights are you using for the white Tundra
TEQ customs
Love this vibe! We need to go camping!
Shooty dang. Sho nuff wish you’d say where you was! I reckon that’s SW Arizona? Saw a saguaro so…not sure. Looks like it was a good trip though.
Yeah that was down in SW Arizona, really nice area for off-roading!
What does it weigh?
I think it was around 26-27lbs in the stock configuration I can't remember exactly. The weight should be listed on the website.
@ thank you.
You don’t show the inside of the camper. Why?
Because this isn't a review video. You want to see the inside of a fourwheel camper than look up a walk around video lol.
thanks for the vid
These are definitely not "must-do" suspension upgrades!, For the price of these "upgrades" you can buy another first gen Tundra. A lot of these "failures" of ball joints, spindles, etc, are normally from neglect of maintenance and lifting these vehicles way over than they should be, putting harmful angles on the ball joints. A small mild lift, no more than 2", you will be fine with stock components. If your trying to do some crazy rock crawling, it's time for a solid axle swap or a total custom front end suspension. I find the Bilstein 6112 coil over will be fine for more than 98% of 1st gen Tundra owners.
lol you’re use case doesn’t work for everyone and it’s clear you don’t understand that.
Funny, this reminds me of Steve Martin’s plumber joke back in the day..for me as a girl, but am truly interested in a ford econoline!
I was just about to order one.. thanks for the info
Do you have a link to the rack for your topper?
Sherpa rack crows nest
Back in the early 70's The Ford Quadra vans were really popular for taking our bikes and dune buggies to the Colorado River. The only 4WD back then.
UP and back on the same trail, right? (like Camino Cielo)
Yup
Kitchenette/countertop behind the drivers seat would be ideal, especially since it has the high top for upper cabinets.
just when I was ready to order, all sliders have such mixed reviews, hope they will replace your unit
I really hope so….I waited months for this
did it work for some time well? was the footage smooth? I am planning on using it with a dji rs4, Ive been searching alot there just not too many options for 3 axis sliders, and most of them have mixed reviews
@@herpiserpi1204 I was only ever able to get it to work once so I can't really say. Their customer support has not been good either, they tried giving me a 5% refund to make it better but the slider is completely un-useable.
Anyone what small torque he’s using is? The red handled one.
cant find them window blockers thanks
They’re linked in the description
How much do you air down. ? Are they 80 psi E tires or D. Those c just get ruined. Do ya go to 40 psi. Or down to the 25 psi air pressure range
I air down to about 20
Did you make a video when you installed the hightop. Im considering that. Verses getting a different van camper
I did make a video of them installing it on my Channel
Ecockaline mad me stop
Are you ok?
When you said “later on if you want a 4x4” did you mean convert the van to a 4x4?
Not converting it
@@brakeforsnakes would you ever convert yours to 4x4?
No I sold my quigley 4x4 for this van. Only way I’d do it is from U Joint
I have the 5.4 and get 25-27 mpg on the highway with around 2,000 lbs on board. It drops to around 20 mpg highway if pulling a trailer.
lol I’ve owned many of these vans, no you don’t.
That guys wife thinks he’s cheating and got stuck reassembling a van lol
is the stumpjumper a race bike?
It could be
@@brakeforsnakesits a trail bike right?
@ yes
Awesome rig. Thanks for helping the snakes! 🤘
