    I purchased the same, in the same color. It’s a great kayak, WoW. I was amazed of his that drive moves, the balance, and how easy it moves around. Definitely would recommend.

    Hey congrats on the kayak, I’m eagerly awaiting for my store to get the same one back in stock too. Just like you I did a ton of research between Old Town and at first Native, but then also Hobie and I wouldn’t want any other boat. I couldn’t believe the amount of problems I’ve heard about Hobies with the drives, recalling parts, cracked hulls, thiner plastic hull and shorter warranty. Not knocking them because they have really cool features too but even price and value aside Old Town’s a win for me. Can’t wait to get mine, enjoy it!

    • @isenhouroutdoors8530
      @isenhouroutdoors8530  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea. It honestly surprises me that Hobie only has a 3 year warranty. The sportsman is soo extremely well built and incredibly stable. Took it out last weekend and I was amazed. I’ll be posting a short vid soon tonight of my first time out in it. This weekend I’ll post up a more in depth on the water vid with it

    Great video. I just wish Old Town would change the front handle. I think it's easier to handle when the direction of the handle is front to rear, instead of side to side. Just a minor thing but important in my opinion. Plus, the rod holder behind the rudder control is a little close. I'll still buy one though.

    I'm looking to buy one but can't find any in stock! Kayakcity said they should have some coming in this week so hopefully will have some posted soon. The dealer near me says they just sell out as soon as they get them.

      Yea. I got mine from Great Outdoor Provision. I had heard they heard one coming their way that wasn't bought yet. If you have a Great Outdoor near you, I would try them. Good luck. Took it out this last weekend. Awesome kayak!!

    Hello what’s the difference between the old town sportsman 120 and the top water 120 ??

    • @isenhouroutdoors8530
      @isenhouroutdoors8530  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sportsman has a better more comfortable seat, has molded in handles in the rear, and the stern opening is a bit bigger. Also better floor mats.

    That was an awesome video. Congratulations on your kayak man. I want to order me one but I don't know if my feet will stay on the pedal. I have very very wide feet with very fat wide toe and am wondering will these pedals work for me or can I upgrade them to a wider pedal. The kayak I have now my foot braces are not wide enough so I'm looking for a pedal drive kayak. Great review appreciate you sharing it. I wish Mother Nature wasn't crying it would have been better but you made it happen. Take it easy and have yourself a good one.

      Thanks man! Appreciate it! Honestly I think you'd be good. I have some pretty wide feet and they're great on those pedals. I'll see if I can go measure them in a little bit and post the dimensions back to you.

    Nice video! Were you able to compare or try the Predator or Sportsman Bigwater 132? Thanks in advance!

    • @isenhouroutdoors8530
      @isenhouroutdoors8530  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I wasn’t able to compare them with a hands on approach however I’ve done a ton of research on the big water and predator. The predator is a good boat however it weighs more and is longer and still has the same weight capacity. I also didn’t like the rails on it and it’s not nearly as stable as the sportsman. The big water is nice however I didn’t want a kayak that was that big. That 12ft fit perfectly and is the best all around kayak imo. I would imagine it wouldn’t be as efficient in the river compared to the 120. I’ll have an in depth on the water vid up this weekend. Posting a shorter on the water vid soon tonight of me having it out this past weekend

    Great unboxing vid! 💪 Stupid question. Do you happen to know if there is an insert that goes in the PDL hole that can be used when you wish to float/paddle without the PDL drive? Sometimes I yak on skinny water where it would be nice to use the kayak without the drive and have the hole covered?

    • @isenhouroutdoors8530
      @isenhouroutdoors8530  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Not a stupid question at all. So that was one downfall when deciding on this kayak. So old town doesn’t make anything to go into the pdl space when you don’t want to use it, for example, when going into shallow rivers/creeks. There is a company though that makes an insert plate for the topwater and sportsman that fits into this space. If you get one and are interested in getting the plate, let me know and I can give you his info. It’s $75.00 for the plate but it’s a very thick hard plastic. It’s not 100% water tight however you can put weather stripping around the bottom of it to make it water tight. Some people are also getting small pelican cases and drilling to the top of it to use it kind of like a console. I wished Old Town made their own consoles to drop into these spaces same way they do with their predator series boats. I may do a review video soon for the insert plate

      Thank you!! It just checked off the most boxes of what I was looking for in a kayak. Those items were extremely stable, pedal drive, under 2500, lifetime warranty, very reputable company, comfortable seat, under 13 ft long, place for a transducer, and a large stern for lots of storage.

    hey Brandon, I also live in Charlotte and have been researching a lot of kayak brands and models. Old Town to me has the most upside. I would really like to visit a store that has some of Old Town's different models in stock. I realize this isn't going to happen for at least a few months due to high demand, but can't find a place that carries the brand. When I look on the Great Outdoor Provision website it says they only carry Hobie and Bonafide kayaks. Do you know if they carry Old Town as well?
