I can’t get this to work because I can’t type the pi’s IP address because it only allows me to type the numbers after a good chunk after my routers IP address. Can I change the end of the IP address of my pi, and still get it to work? Because if i could I think I finally could do this.
I've go the port forwarding set up, and image on WiFi network, but not getting image when refreshed off the WiFi network (on 4G). Is there a way to check that the port forwarding is connected (forwarding data) correctly?
@@PcMac24x7 No, I'm saying I can't get anything on the mobile network. I checked if the port is open or not and it still says closed, though I've set up virtual server with the same details as used when working on WiFi network? Could it be blocked by the ISP?

@@PcMac24x7 this was the first time. just installed motioneyeos yesterday. just configured port forwarding today and first ever attempt to access it from my phone with port 8081 took me directly to stream with no request for password and no access to controls. however forwarding port 80 and connecting to that i did get a password request and access to controls.. could be a change in versions perhaps?
I get an ERROR saying "start port and end port cannot be the same" when I enter 8081 for each of them? The only way I don't get an error is by entering Start-80, End-81. Is this correct as the port is not open once set up?
Hi Mr Mac. Thankyou for a very helpful tutorial. I DID IT!! However... I can only sign in as a surveillance user, It will not let me sign in as Admin therefore i cannot access other cam's connected to it, usb cam for instance. Is there any way to sign in as admin remotely?
Thanks for Watching, Motioneyeos is under development. So, you will see many changes in near future like video recording with voice. I have used USB camera and my phones as network cameras. So, i will check your issue and let you know if it is possible or not.

I have the newest motioneye os 2019 something. i have portforwarding the ip on raspberrypi3 in my router. i have made passwords, and everything in your video. i cant still connect to motioneye outside my network, cant connect to video stream and nothing.
type in browser from device NOT on the network . format should be xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8081 replaces X's with your WAN ip followed with a : then port number
ok so i just figured out that 8081 is the direct port for the stream. if you want to make changes to motioneyeos you need to forward and connect to port 80.

MotionEyeOS is fantastic and your video s are really helpful! Thank you! Can you make one more about webhooks, what they are, how they work?
Working on them and looking for free solutions. Once i figure it out surely post a video.

Set a static ip address for your motion eye. That will resolve the issue.
PcMac I did that, the thing I was wondering about is if I could edit the static ip, and still make it work.
You can but when DHCP lease refresh the ip address will change and port forwarding will not work after that.
PcMac Welp... looks like my router just does not support it then.
Talk to your ISP once.
What should i do if my router public ip change every time the router restarts ?
Use duckdns as shown in video.

If you are able to connect from mobile network that means port forwarding is working. You can also google for "check port is open or not".

Might be your ports were blocked by your ISP, you can ask them to forward your ports and unblock them.

solved. port 8081 is a direct link to steam bypassing login but port 80 allows me to log in and control motioneyeos.
Because the password got saved at first time that is why it is not asking for password try another device.
