Ep 4 Varanasi to Robertsganj, | Chunar Fort | Siddhnath Ki Dari , Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh

- We started the journey from Durgakund Varanasi then moved towards Chunar fort followed by Siddhnath ki Dari..
Due to less rains in the year 2022, we could not see much waterfall in the Sonbhadra district and Mirzapur district, but still we got chance to see the surroundings.
This video was shot on 7th August, following are the activities we did throughout the day.
Durgakund - we started our day from Durgakund. One of the most famous temples in Varanasi.
Chunar Fort - Located Around 30 km from Varanasi. Built at an elevation of 280 ft, across the holy river Ganga in Vindhyachal Ranges.
Mahadev Misthan Bhandar - This shop is popular for its Gud Jalebi (Jaggery Jalebi) 12 for 100 gm. We had breakfast of Poori with Sabji - Rs 20.
Do check the price before eating food at this shop - we were charged Rs 1000 for 5 people , though the price was less, so its better if you check it before ordering food at Mahadev Mishthan Bhandar.
Siddhnath Ki Dari - Located at a distance of 20 km from Mirzapur. There is a waterfall which is a treat to the eyes during the monsoon. Not known to Tourists, to my surprise I saw many locals who had come for a picnic.
Raj Dari - it is also a waterfall where you need to go through the jungle to reach the fall. Timing - 8 am to 4pm. Entry fee - Rs 50 per person.
Hare Krishna dhaba - We had dinner here Dal - Rs 120 & Dum Aloo - Rs 200. This Dhaba is located 8 km before Robertsganj in sonbhadra district.

Harish Bali has& is doing a wonderful job showcasing India’s heritage. The visuals of the ‘Charanadri’ fort adjoining Maa Ganga is breathtaking.
It seems that the ASI is looking after the fort. Sad to see the huge quantity of plastic bottles in that 200 metre well. Shows the civic sense of our people. Of course the ASI never thought it fit to cover up the well& or levy fines on such behaviour by tourists who visit this fort.. shows their interest.. government department apathy.. .
Not to mention the mindset of the people who litter this beautiful monument which our ancestors have bestowed upon us..
I know understand why the British ruled over us for 200 years..

I have been to Varanasi twice but never knew about Chunar fort, water fall & forests. On my next visit, I am surely going to visit these places & all other tourist places I missed.

Sir it's very delightful to see you visiting Robertsganj. It's my home town. Sonbhadra district have veriety of tourist attractions but due to administrative ignorance it's not widely popular among tourists. Your visit will surely help it to get recognition. Please do visit Shivdwar temple, Panchmukhi temple as both have ancient idol and Linga of lord Shiva. You can also visit Eco point, veer Lorik stone, fossil park with world's oldest fossils, Rihand Dam with India's largest man made reservoir, Birla Temple, Dala Vaishno devi temple, Dhanraul dam, Obra dam etc which all are nearby to Robertsganj. There are two forts Naugarh Vijaygarh which have been mentioned in Chandrkanta serial, however, they are not in good condition due to lack of maintenance. Keep promoting tourism sir. All the best.
