  • We started this tour from Varanasi, went to Mirzapur district and then finally to Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, we had planned to visit Sonebhadra bcoz we wanted to see waterfalls and natural greenery that comes up in this district after rains. But this year - 2022rains in UP have been low, so waterfalls were not so active.
Robertsganj is the district headquarter town of Sonbhadra district, In the last episode you saw we travelled from Varanasi and reached Robertsganj and in today's episode you will see Sonbhadra tourism exploration.
Varanasi to Robertsganj distance - 85 km.
This video was shot on 8th August 2022, following are the activities we visited during the day.
Son ViewPoint in Robertsganj - We saw 180 degree of scenic view from this point. It is also known as eco point in Sonbhadra.
Veer Lorik Stone or Pathar - This is located walking distance from eco point. Highlight of this place is a big stone which had been cut by Veer Lorik in one stroke.
Salkhan Fossil Park - Biggest fossil park in the world, the age of the fossils is around 1.40 billions years old. These are stromatolites formed; these rock structures which are the signatures left behind by the ancient algae.
New Kanhaiya sweets - We had Ras Madhuri - Rs 25 per pc, quite a popular sweet shop across the highway.
Maa Vaishno Shaktipith Dhaam Sonbhadra Dala - This is 18 years old temple, dedicated maa vaishno devi, there is also a man made cave in the temple.
In next episode you will see the journey from Renukoot to Varanasi, which is the last episode of this series.

Sonbhadra is really amazing and that's why Nehru Ji Used to call it Switzerland of India . I regularly visit Renukoot especially Hindalco Residential Colony. Is colony m earphone lagaa ke ghoomna , i just love it.
Renkoot means HINDALCO IND. LTD. Due this company , Everybody knows about this place. The Famous Renukeswar Birla Mandir , Ram Mandir, Rihand Dam , Vandevi Mandir , Dongia Nala , Bhoma Pahad and etc etc are its soul.
The zig-zag and curvy 2 lane road from Hathinala to Anpara is so damn good that it's hard for me to describe its beauty. This road reminds me of the famous Thailand road The Mae Hong Son loop having 1800+ curves. Yeh jitna sundar h utna hi khatarnak bhi h. For bikers Its really amazing.

Jharkhand me kafi sundar waterfalls, jungle, natural beauty and dams hain, aap kabhi Ranchi ka plan kijiye. Renukoot se 9 hours ka drive hai. Waise Varanasi hoke aana achcha option hai due to road conditions.

Sir Thank you for visiting Sonebhadra and showing these beautiful places. I would like to add few points. There are several good hotels available in Robertsganj. The Veer Lorik stone has been cut twice. First it was cut and one portion fell down. Then Rani asked Veer Lorik to cut it again in such a way that it stand straight and do not fall. He cut the stone again and hold it with his bare hands and those 2 separate parts are standing there. The fossils in fossil park look like rocks however if you hold a small piece of fossil in hand it will feel lighter than wood. Chopan Railway bridge is the place where one of the Bunty and Bubly movie train scene has been shot. There are several water walls nearby however due to paucity of rains they are not worth visiting. Also Shivdwar temple and Panchmukhi temple near Robertsganj are worth visiting.
