Allen talks about the song Slither and other songs planned for the show this Wednesday at Campus JAX.
The uncertain fate of the yet unreleased 2022 album The Good Fight.
The singles released on Sirius XM from the label record company that owns the masters The Good Fight: I Keep Forgetting and Better Days.
Some copies of The Good Fight as well as his other albums will be available at The Campus JAX show.
Demonstrating and explaining the Palm Pedal guitar and some of the tunes he played it on.
His use of guitar layers in his music.
His slight of hand with his "hidden pick".
His use of "Brazilian Voices" on several of his songs like Fact of the Matter, Confianca, Break Away.
His bucket list is to write his own song and sing it...until the he has Maxayn Lewis.
How he connected with Maxayn Lewis - a bit of her background and the creation of The Cookies with Bobby Watson
His connection with Xotic - a first peddle they made and now signature Guitars and soon the AH1 Peddle!
The Xotic copy of his '52 Esquire (He doesn't have enough guitars)
His selection of guitars to play is because he likes the variety of sounds and tones they can give.
He likes putting together guitars from parts and how he likes vintage guitars.
His TH-cam series on What Makes This Guitar great and affordable.
Talking about Duane Allman in Allen's early Alabama days. His guitar heroes and where that lead to.
He does sessions, but not much studio work. A lot of work for Jimmy Haslip and Gino Vannelli.

I'm gonna meet you this Saturday...big fan ...ive worn out 3 AC boosters...
You mean you're going to be meeting Allen this Saturday?
Where is he playing? With his band or The Cookies?
I got to spend lots of hours will Allen during the pandemic - he and Jon Herington held workshops. I learned a lot during that period - but most of all I learned Allen is a down-to-earth, witty, and genuinely nice guy. I had a few 1-1 lessons with him (I'll be honest, we mostly bullshitted) and we discovered we actually played a the same club in Gulfport, MS 40 years prior.
Thanks for sharing this - it's too bad more people don't see this and get to experience Alien and his music. I hope to travel to see him sometime - hopefully at the Baked Potato.
@@Joel_Powell two fine people to hang with during the pandemic…or any other time!
Feel free to share with anyone you think would appreciate his music or talks.
I’ll pass this along to Allen!
@@cohalensadventures5331 I sure will!
Great!!!!!
Allen is a truly fantastic player and I hope he has better luck with his albums going forward. It's a bit of a shame he didn't focus more on himself as a solo artist more in the vein of Scott Henderson and Allan Holdsworth for example. Allen's smoother work still isn't smooth enough for smooth jazz and hasn't done him many favors in the world of more serious modern jazz and fusion. Either way, it's always a pleasure to hear more work from Allen!
