Vic DiCara's Astrology And that is why you are one of my favorite Astrologers I have come acrossed. I to also like the simplicity of classical Astrology. Draconic Astrology is believed to date all the way back to Babylon. And it's actually simple as well..... Simply put, the Draconic Chart is derived from the natal horoscope by transferring the North Node of the Moon back to 0° degrees of Aries. In other words, we take the natal position of the North Node and look at how many degrees are needed to move the North Node back to 0° Aries. That difference in degrees is then subtracted from the natal Angles, the Sun, Moon and the planets to bring them to their draconic position - a new degree and sign of the zodiac. Nothing has changed in terms of the horoscope's gestalt. The planets still remain in the same houses. Nothing has changed in terms of the planetary patterns in their relationship to each other. The aspects between planets and points still remain the same. What has changed however is their location within the zodiac, in terms of degrees and signs.
@@VicDiCaraAstrology Interestingly Edgar Cayce one of the most prolific psychics of our century stated in a trance medium sessions that western Astrology was inaccurate and was off by almost an entire sign. Edgar Cayce, “the sleeping prophet”, predicted in one of his trance sessions that sidereal Astrology (the Sidereal system is used in vedic Astrology) would be the Astrology of the future. Cayce advocated the Sidereal or the Persian system of Astrology in his readings: *“For the Egyptian and the Persian records are quite varied. If the entity would study Astrology, do not put the signs in the Egyptian calendar but in the Persian, for the Persian interpretations are more proficient than the Egyptian. This is not belittling the efforts of the entity nor of the Egyptians in those periods, but the variations in time have been corrected by the Persians and not by the Egyptians. The Egyptian calculations are 30 degrees off.” **#2011**-3 Cayce also clearly stated in a reading: “For most Astrologers are nearly 30 degrees off in their reckoning in the present.”* #3376-2 (“Edgar Cayce’s Secrets of Astrology”) Kirk Nelson Only once to my knowledge did Cayce recommend using the “Egyptian” tropical zodiac rather than the sidereal. This was in relation to the movement of individual stocks in the Market: (Q) “What books on Astrology are best to determine such moves?" (A) *“Those as we find that are of the Egyptian origin; while for individuals' activities use those of the Persian origin. Those of the Persian are as to the activities of individuals...while the Egyptian are as to those that would have to do with activities as related to individuals in speculative activities...”* (826-10)
This explains why my Gemini Punarvasu Moon matches my Tropical Cancer Moon. I could not wrap my mind around how both birth charts could be so wildly different at first glance and then match nearly perfectly in essence. Thank you so much for explaining all of this. I definitely find value in both methods and now my brain can feel justified in believing in both. lol
Interesting that yours is the first comment I've read and this may be a coincidence or a synchronicity but I have these exact moon placements, Gemini/Punarvasu in Sidereal and Cancer in Tropical. An yeah, thanks to his explanation now I understand that in the TRADITIONAL Sidereal sense my moon is not actually in Gemini, it's more correct to say it's simply in Punarvasu "sign" (as in star sign), while in the tropical sense it's in the Cancer sign (as in solar sign). This way I can join the interpretation of the two without letting the interpretation of Gemini in the way. Is this more or less the correct way of looking at it?
@@ceruleandusk That makes sense to me. The whole Gemini thing seemed so odd but also made weird sense because My Tropical Sun is in Aquarius (in Sidereal it's in Capricorn) with the Moon being in Cancer. Those are two very distinct energies that would almost match the twin vibration of Gemini. You could also look at my Leo Ascendant and see the same kind of opposite energies. Either way I am a balance of dueling energies. I'm curious if your Rahu matched in both charts and if not which one resonates more for you?
Regarding the Indian calendar report I haven't read it And what you say makes sense But I did not read it in detail to know the context well. Perhaps I will find another or different understanding Perhaps he meant that the solstices and equinoxes are actually tropical and his words are 100 percent correct Chapters should only be linked to chapters Now is spring, so it is spring. We cannot say it is winter Perhaps that is his intention But on the one hand that interests us, which is astrological maps and zodiac signs, here is a different topic Fixed stars are very important and they are not, as I see it, a fixed point just to measure the distance between the spring season when it is in Libra, we measure it based on the stars of Aries, which is opposite it!
Nice words But do you think it makes sense for the horoscopes to be built primarily on the movement of the seasons? Seasons are not equal all over the world There are cities ten months in the case of winter or summer, and know neither autumn nor spring I do not think that the constellations in the sky, such as Aries and Taurus, were drawn just because they are the coordinates of the movement of the equinox point. Rather, they themselves express fixed locations for the real constellations The process of merging the two systems makes sense But the tropical system alone is not logical enough
Vic. I've had such intense amounts of struggle, frustration and confusion when it comes to trying to figure out where Western or Vedic astrology is the truth. I started with Vedic astrology and fell in love with nakshatras about 3 years ago and have kept with Sidereal since. Is there any way to simplify the difference between these two systems, and if there is something I am not getting could you just like, sum it up because all this info about the Moon and the Sun is confusing me even more. Thank you so much. I've been watching and enjoying your videos on the Planets series so much! literally god sent.
With exception of the moon and somewhat the planets, all other movements of the stars and sun are simply observing the orbit, rotation and wobble of earth! All you are really seeing in the movement of the sun and stars is our own movement!
If we take your example of Moon in Rohini, 1) how much interpretive value do you give to the nakshatra relative to the zodiac sign? are they equally weighted do you give more prominence to the nakshatra than the zodiac or do you even ignore the zodiacal (or nakshatra) quality altogether? 2) the rulership of your moon would change from Venus to Mercury (depending on the systems you use) and so the interpretation of your moon based on ruler position (in houses) and dignity/afflictions (based on the various avasthas, aspects etc) would also change depending on systems. How do you reconcile this when using interpretations from ancient texts which use the sidereal system? 3) are gandanta points sidereal based or tropical?
1) The nakshatra give a clear picture all on their own, but can't always answer the question I place to them. Rather they tell me the answers they want me to know. Zodiac signs are less clear and forthcoming than nakshatra, but much more flexible, because of how they work with house rulers. 2) Use the ruler of the tropical chart of course. Houses (in the classical whole sign system at least) are based on signs (how the signs intersect the horizon), so since the signs are tropical the house rulers must also be tropical. 3) Gandanta is tropical: the elements repeat there, going from water to fire. And the navamsha's end in concert with the end of the signs there. Nakshatras are another layer, but not necessary for the fundamental definition.
Thank you Vic for your clarification. However, I remain unpersuaded on the tropical system but am always appreciative of the efforts of all astrologers. Tropical, sidereal, heliocentric - there are always profound insights to be had in all waters.
Do you know my friend To see the real difference between the two systems, you have to wait a long time Two hundred years from now or when the Aquarius equinox point is in the middle of it Here you will see the difference quite clearly between the qualities of Aries and Aquarius While the difference between Aries and Pisces is not that great, many are not aware of the slight differences between them
Vic may I ask, do you calculate the Nakshatras with Tropical calculations as well? I'd like to pick your brain about that.... God bless and thank you !
Wow. This alters things...this is why you said Jupiter was debilitated during the December 2019 solar eclipse... I just paid to get a chart from you and now I'm more excited how this perspective effects how to evaluate a chart. What software do you use, or do you plan to develop, to show this relationship?
Vic, there is a good video by Ra Sem Ba on TH-cam explaining how the Tropical calculation is the chart of the dead whereas the Sidereal is the chart of the living. It makes a lot of sense, but I need to test it out on charts. I think that Vedic astrology's origins are from Egypt, but because we live in such a racist world, the occult knowledge is often obscured and not paid attention to.
Thank you ashley. No, unfortunately there isn't anything close. But with Kāla software at least you can configure it to give you the same basic chart as I give.
thank you i saw your video and ive got kala set like u said..I also bought your compatblity report....Do u by any chance sell a chart and balances sheet with just caluations (spelling) That is cheaper without the whole report... I really like to see my boyfriends and family members balances!!!!!
Why do we not say that measuring the distance between the equinox point and the fixed star is to know where the vernal equinox point is in relation to the fixed star? not more than that And the stars of Aries remain Aries And the stars of Scorpio remain Scorpio!
so, I guess there is a use for signs based on the sun energy towards the borning being (personality, material things) and there is another use for rasis, nakshatras, transits, dashas, etc (deeper layer).. I don't know, just trying to understand... Thanks for discussing about it.
My friend You know that in India there are not four seasons You also know that Aries has nothing to do with spring! Aries can be placed in the summer or a season of thunder and storms Aries is one thing and spring is quite another! Do you see the logic of Aries in the spring? And the energy of Aries and Mars is suitable for the season of flowers and the equinox? Haha my friend!
Correction, you said for the tropical you divide the Solstices and Equinoxes by the Moon’s movement and that is not true because the moon revolves around the Earth 13 times every year not 12. Did they simply divide it into 12 because it’s easy and simpler to do equal 30 degrees cuts of the year?
The actual amount is between 12 and 13, slightly closer to twelve. Almost always there are 12 full lunations in a year, every so often a 13th sneaks in. All of the calculations that form the basic foundations of astrology (360 days/degrees & 12 months/signs) are idealized abstractions, because the exact values fluctuate over long periods of time. The systems have mechanisms designs to prevent the estimations' margins of error from accumulating over time ("leap year" type mechanisms)
@@VicDiCaraAstrology No, there are 13 full and complete moon cycles in a year each 27-28 days in length. This is why the Mayans had the Day out of Time and have each lunar month exactly 28 days. It’s quite marvelous and makes sense to noy have arbitrary extra days added to the ends of the month to fill up space.
perhaps it is a clue that they measure the moon against stars and the sun against its own light (solstices). And the zodiac is the intersection of the two. (stellar/sidereal movement of the moon is 13.3 per day)
I don't agree with this, only because i see the reason the text described the divisons in relation to the equinox is because the stars were made in mind with the seasons, but now the stars are not in alignment of the seasons, and there is nobody to tell us whether or not the divisions should be based on the equinox or the constellations. We dont know if the divisions correlate with only the equinox, or if the texts specified the equinox because that was the easiest way to explain how the stars correlated AT THAT TIME, which doesnt hold true anymore. Therefore there is no real argument for or against.
Why do you say "there is nobody to tell us whether or not the divisions should be based on the equinox or the contellations"? There are many, many very important classical authors telling us it is based on the equinox, and zero of them saying it is based on the constellations. Please see vicdicara.com/tropical for actual examples
When you say 2000 years ago was simple mathematics I do understand that but to say that in dvapara yuga they were uneducated is little stretch for me...

who told you that? they use tropical measurements. And even if they descide not to, they are not concerned with astrology but with cosmology - which are not identical.
There is not enough logic behind the tropical system other than that it relates to the seasons Is it cold hot? Moderate ? This is the mission of the Tropical System, nothing more than that And I do not think that drawing the zodiac signs in the sky with fixed locations was just for fun Or that the stars of Aries are fixed, but they are always associated with the spring season, even if the spring season is in the sign of Libra, we will say that the sign of Libra is the sign of Aries! My friend, this is not logical enough! It is correct to combine the two systems based on the fixed stars Or rely on fixed stars!
The ''Sun'' is the basis for tropical and the ''Moon'' is the basis for sidereal??? What do you mean by this and there is no necessity for either to be based on tropical or sidereal. I don't understand your argument at all. You posit that the Moon is ALWAYS with different stars so is the Sun and so are every other stars and planets depending on your framework. You keep making statements but I do not understand your point. Could you clear this or make another video whenever you have time and patience for it.
Why is Sankranti celebrated on the Nirayana Sun entering the Sign? The Sankranti celebration is not new. In Puri it is been celebrated for many centuries. Probably thousands since the customs of Puri don't change easily, and the Makar Sankranti festival is celebrated across entire Subcontinent. The planetary positions of Sri Rama quoted by Sri Baldev Vidyabhusan from Kha Manikya, specifically of Sun and Moon don't make sense with Nirayana signs. Sun at 10Aries, Nakshatra rising Punarvasu, Karka lagna, Moon and Jupiter Ca27 in Lagna. Navmi tithi, afternoon birth, Abhijit muhurat. Considering Nirayan system as followed now, Moon should be in Pushya and Sun in 10th house Aries or if we consider Moon in Lagna Cancer and Punarvasu, then Sun moves to Pieces, 9th house. The horoscope of Lord Rama as given can make sense with tropical signs and sidereal nakshatras. It doesn't make sense with sidereal signs. But the question remains of Sankranti celebration.
This whole debate is just impossible to make sense of😅 vic's whole video was about how tropical is better because it does the necessary adjustments for the precession of equinoxes whereas elsewhere on the internet people are like sidereal is legit because IT takes the necessary adjustments for the precession of equinoxes 😅 www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-astrology-consider-precession
please be more complete in your comments. I cant read your mind (OMG), and it is not likely I will see your comment twice, so please try to phrase a comment in such a way that i will know what you are saying or asking. The north pole is a right angle 90° to the equator, so any motion model that accounts for the equator implicitly accounts for the north pole. If you mean the precession of the pole, it does not tangibly affect the sun's relationship to the poles and equator - rather it affects their relationship to stars.
Please do not take this the wrong way, but what you've been propounding for quite some time is half baked knowledge. Several references from several scholars and scientists have been provided to you in multiple online forums. If you quote a certain text from a certain source, the context has to be considered very carefully. If not, it leads to disasters(as many have attempted over the centuries). Please try to understand the basic difference Phalita and Ganita in Jyotishya(including the multiple Siddhantas) first since that is the root of all the confusion currently. In the meanwhile, please refer to vedicastrology.wikidot.com/profile-of-vinay-jha for a very erudite traditional interpretation of what has been passed down from millenia. Secondly, please refer to ckraju.net/ to a more practical and semi-modern interpretation of what has been passed down since millenia. I do not mean any contempt by these remarks. Don't know anything about it. I am a simple, faithful person. I stick with the purest basics and try to be true to them.
In other words, we take the natal position of the North Node
and look at how many degrees are needed to move the North Node
back to 0° Aries.
That difference in degrees is then subtracted from the natal Angles, the Sun, Moon and the planets to bring them to their draconic position
- a new degree and sign of the zodiac.
Nothing has changed in terms of the horoscope's gestalt.
The planets still remain in the same houses.
Nothing has changed in terms of the planetary patterns in their relationship
to each other.

Cayce advocated the Sidereal or the Persian system of Astrology in his readings:
*“For the Egyptian and the Persian records are quite varied. The Egyptian calculations are 30 degrees off.” **#2011**-3 Cayce also clearly stated in a reading: “For most Astrologers are nearly 30 degrees off in their reckoning in the present.”* #3376-2 (“Edgar Cayce’s Secrets of Astrology”)
Kirk Nelson
Only once to my knowledge did Cayce recommend using the “Egyptian” tropical zodiac rather than the sidereal. This was in relation to the movement of individual stocks in the Market:
(Q) “What books on Astrology are best to determine such moves?"
(A) *“Those as we find that are of the Egyptian origin; while for individuals' activities use those of the Persian origin. Those of the Persian are as to the activities of individuals...while the Egyptian are as to those that would have to do with activities as related to individuals in speculative activities...”* (826-10)
now i can understand every single thing you wrote to me. wow

How does this correlate with the mahadasha? I’m so intrigued because I get what you’re saying and I agree.
Regarding the Indian calendar report
I haven't read it
And what you say makes sense
But I did not read it in detail to know the context well. Perhaps I will find another or different understanding
Perhaps he meant that the solstices and equinoxes are actually tropical and his words are 100 percent correct
Chapters should only be linked to chapters
Now is spring, so it is spring. We cannot say it is winter
Perhaps that is his intention
But on the one hand that interests us, which is astrological maps and zodiac signs, here is a different topic
Fixed stars are very important and they are not, as I see it, a fixed point just to measure the distance between the spring season when it is in Libra, we measure it based on the stars of Aries, which is opposite it!
Nice words
But do you think it makes sense for the horoscopes to be built primarily on the movement of the seasons?
Seasons are not equal all over the world
There are cities ten months in the case of winter or summer, and know neither autumn nor spring
I do not think that the constellations in the sky, such as Aries and Taurus, were drawn just because they are the coordinates of the movement of the equinox point.
Rather, they themselves express fixed locations for the real constellations
The process of merging the two systems makes sense
But the tropical system alone is not logical enough
WOW! THANK YOU. You are a Divine Amazing Teacher. The best explanation ever in cyber space! Wish i could explain it so well...:)Thank you so much.
Thank you Vic🙂👍☀️🌕
There is no shortcut, unless we are in person and having a conversation - i cant make it easier for you than what is on vicdicara.com/tropical
Thank you
Thank you for your explanation. I went to your website. Ordered a report. Looking forward to learning more.
Is sidereal equivalent to the 13 sign system? Bc I have same sun in both Sagittarius ♐️
no, the 13 sign system is a version of "constellational" systems
With exception of the moon and somewhat the planets, all other movements of the stars and sun are simply observing the orbit, rotation and wobble of earth! All you are really seeing in the movement of the sun and stars is our own movement!
Well, what if Earth were flat and not moving?
If we take your example of Moon in Rohini,
1) how much interpretive value do you give to the nakshatra relative to the zodiac sign? are they equally weighted do you give more prominence to the nakshatra than the zodiac or do you even ignore the zodiacal (or nakshatra) quality altogether?
Do you know my friend
To see the real difference between the two systems, you have to wait a long time
Two hundred years from now or when the Aquarius equinox point is in the middle of it
Here you will see the difference quite clearly between the qualities of Aries and Aquarius
While the difference between Aries and Pisces is not that great, many are not aware of the slight differences between them
loving your insight :)
Great explanation. If the Rashis are indeed defined by the Solar energies (equinoxes, solstices), then this must be correct.
Vic may I ask, do you calculate the Nakshatras with Tropical calculations as well? I'd like to pick your brain about that.... God bless and thank you !
Thank you for this super clear and concise presentation! Love the history and all the references... (I'd like to transcribe this.)
Wow. This alters things...this is why you said Jupiter was debilitated during the December 2019 solar eclipse...
I just paid to get a chart from you and now I'm more excited how this perspective effects how to evaluate a chart. What software do you use, or do you plan to develop, to show this relationship?
thanks Vic! I relate to the tropical system...
But planets like mars Venus Jupiter Saturn can be calculated the sidderael way right?
Staring up at the sky used to be the Internet
Vic, there is a good video by Ra Sem Ba on TH-cam explaining how the Tropical calculation is the chart of the dead whereas the Sidereal is the chart of the living. It makes a lot of sense, but I need to test it out on charts. I think that Vedic astrology's origins are from Egypt, but because we live in such a racist world, the occult knowledge is often obscured and not paid attention to.
April D. I can’t say I disagree with ur last sentence at all. So true - unfortunately.
Awesome!!!!
Your natal report is a masterpiece all the way around!!!Any software that comes close to your report that you can recommend???
Thank you ashley. No, unfortunately there isn't anything close. But with Kāla software at least you can configure it to give you the same basic chart as I give.
thank you i saw your video and ive got kala set like u said..I also bought your compatblity report....Do u by any chance sell a chart and balances sheet with just caluations (spelling) That is cheaper without the whole report... I really like to see my boyfriends and family members balances!!!!!
@@VicDiCaraAstrology hello dear Vic is there any change in software region after one year 🙏
In Vedic I’m a Virgo with Aquarius moon and in western I’m a libra Pisces moon which one do I follow ?
Your tropical sign Zodiac stands for sun ☀️
Why do we not say that measuring the distance between the equinox point and the fixed star is to know where the vernal equinox point is in relation to the fixed star?
not more than that
And the stars of Aries remain Aries
And the stars of Scorpio remain Scorpio!
This is the first time I get it!
so, I guess there is a use for signs based on the sun energy towards the borning being (personality, material things) and there is another use for rasis, nakshatras, transits, dashas, etc (deeper layer).. I don't know, just trying to understand... Thanks for discussing about it.
My friend
You know that in India there are not four seasons
You also know that Aries has nothing to do with spring!
Aries can be placed in the summer or a season of thunder and storms
Aries is one thing and spring is quite another!
Do you see the logic of Aries in the spring?
And the energy of Aries and Mars is suitable for the season of flowers and the equinox?
Haha my friend!
Zodiac has nothing to do with the seasons but the Celestial equanox
It's all so confusing this is why I will never study I can't choose one System over the other , so I study both even more confusing
would you do a talk on the Mahabharata or astrology in the Mahabharata ? also would you do a talk on the chakras or the astrology in chakras ?
(stellar/sidereal movement of the moon is 13.3 per day)
Is it okay I follow my tropical nakshatra over my sidereal nakshatra? Ex a Uttarashada moon versus a shrvana moon?
Not really. Because nakshatra are stars.
I get it! :}
Where or How could I calculate my chart using this new method? Just use Vedic astrology on my Western birth chart?
use whole sign houses, and you are pretty good to go. You wont know nakshatras thou. You might need to manually do that. Or order one: vicdicara.com/r2
@@VicDiCaraAstrology I appreciate the constant reply so much, Vic, also how good of a teacher you are and how much you care, truly, thank you. @@VicDiCaraAstrology So basically use the Western zodiac, but whole sign houses? Is that it?
But why does NASA and other scientific asteomers use sideral measurements?
who told you that? they use tropical measurements. And even if they descide not to, they are not concerned with astrology but with cosmology - which are not identical.
sir ji , u r wonderful
There is not enough logic behind the tropical system other than that it relates to the seasons
Is it cold hot?
Moderate ?
This is the mission of the Tropical System, nothing more than that
And I do not think that drawing the zodiac signs in the sky with fixed locations was just for fun
Or that the stars of Aries are fixed, but they are always associated with the spring season, even if the spring season is in the sign of Libra, we will say that the sign of Libra is the sign of Aries!
My friend, this is not logical enough!
It is correct to combine the two systems based on the fixed stars
Or rely on fixed stars!
Where do you find any ''Astrology' in Vedanga Jyotisa? Could you please direct me to pertinent references in VJ?
This whole debate is just impossible to make sense of😅 vic's whole video was about how tropical is better because it does the necessary adjustments for the precession of equinoxes whereas elsewhere on the internet people are like sidereal is legit because IT takes the necessary adjustments for the precession of equinoxes 😅
www.quora.com/Why-doesnt-astrology-consider-precession
thats not what the whole video is about at all.
And the North Pole is out of your accounts?
please be more complete in your comments.
