i stopped doing videos due to some personal issues i had back then.. surprised to see so many comments.. Glad that this helped... Thank you all ;) .. Have a gud one..
Very informative and concise video. Thank you. I hope your personal issues are better now and that you will return to making good content. I began my creator journey recently and noticed that I stopped hearing my voice after switching the audio setting to separate both tracks.
Two years later and this video illuminated not only the solution "separate both tracks" but also the fact that my old clips actually did have the microphone recorded all along. I've been having a blast with going back as far as 10 years and hearing myself celebrate random victories for the first time by choosing the VLC mic audio track. Such a simple fix but if you don't know it seems very difficult. Thanks man =)
thanks man, i muted my mic and didn't realize it was muted. Had been recording for so long and there wasn't any good fix for my mute, until you show me that mic mute button. damn! you a legend
My mic was also muted, like you explained on 0:40 thank you... I reinstalled all software for my whole audio-setup and it still didn´t work, yet the fix was so simple :D BUT since so many people here have exactly this problem, that the mic is muted in GeForce Experience, I start to think that Nvidia messed up an update or something like that, meaning the microphone mute was turned on automatically through an update. I didn´t even know this option existed within the software and I just won´t believe, that I turned this on "accidentally" without noticing :D Would be great if the software would just give you a little reminder at the start of the recording, that your mic is muted.. xD
@@playwithj16 2023 and still this video saved me...thanks again brother. And no ,the accent was a symbol of hope written by -random stranger who fell for every clickbait video.
Thanks so much! I just got a new microphone, Hyper X solocast and I had so many funny clips of me and my friends but it wouldn't record my sound! I did this and it helped so much! Ty!
If your microphone recording is 'fixed' when changing the recording from create seperate tracks to single track. You should be able to hear your microphone if you open the file in a recording software instead of vlc.
Thank you for showing that there are separate audio tracks on VLC media player! I was wondering why my microphone got detected, but I couldn't hear my own voice. :)
When u opened that file at 2:15 what app r u using to open it, i tried using the windows media player but i do not have those options u do to open and see the different audio tracks
Thanks so much dude. A vid from 3 years ago helped me realize the nvidia settings somehow changed my microphone to line in and it didnt pick up my mic.
My problem is that I recorded my video, then I finish it, I watch it, everything is fine but later when I want to see it again, my microphone does not work and I can only hear the sound of the video
The separate audio track not playing through VLC was exactly my issue. Thank you for pointing that our. I'm using DaVinci Resolve which lets me mix my tracks in editing, but I thought it wasn't capturing it at all.
I wish video players had the option to select BOTH tracks on playback. Anyway, completely forgot about the separate audio tracks. Thanks for reminding me.
I didn't notice that the microphone icon in the GeForce Experience overlay menu was set to off. I may have never noticed if I hadn't watched this video. Thanks!
So the issue I'm having is that my nvida keeps defaulting to my output audio (headphones) and not my input (mic) idk why it keeps doing this and absolutely refuses to switch over
@@ohhmyword Not really I spent another two days trying to get it to work. I only got it to work perfectly for one evening then it broke itself the following day when I booted my computer again so I gave up on using Nvidia and swapped to Steams new game recording feature. It's a lot easier to set up and use and tbh it's just better than what Nvidia's recording software can do rn it saves basically whole videos of your playtime and using shift tab you can mark spots to be highlighted for easy clip making it's so so good, the only annoying part of Steams recording is making sure your mic in the sound settings is properly set up not just on discord and steam but on windows itself but I already had experience messing with that to try getting Nvidia's stuff to work and needed to do it anyways for games like nuclear winter where my mic was peaking too much in game chat so overall it was pretty good for me. TLDR; Swapped to using steam it's better and easier to set up.
when you blamed your microphone for years as the reason why your clips dont record your microphone and it takes a random youtube video to realise it was just muted all this time...........
My mic chooses when it wants to be captured and its annoying because i have a lot of funny of clips of me and my homies and theres just no context because geforce decides not to pick up my audio so its just them laughing or talking to no one seemingly. My mic isn’t muted or anything, geforce is just weird. Anyone have a better desktop audio/video capture they use?
damn bro, there is no save button on my screen when I´m in the audio settings. Every time I wanna change something I can´t save it. Could need an advice please
Cheers I feel so stupid as I had it set to separate tracks (handy if I didn't like the mic recording, or it was too loud or something, I can still delete it if I want to keep the audio track). Was almost going crazy as to why I couldn't hear my voice when playing back on VLC, but it's because it was set to playback the System sounds track instead of the Microphone track 🤦♂
Bruh help me out...I clicked the "Separate track" option on audio settings...but when I load the video to edit (i use Premiere Pro) the in-game audio is recorded and my mic audio is not. I play Valorant so the audio of my teammates IN-GAME is recorded but MY VOICE is not recorded Is there a fix? do you know where the audio gets saved by default on PC?
None of these unfortunately work for me. But I have G635 headset and the G-HUB software breaks something with every update so it might be problem on the logitech side again.
Nothing works. My mic is setuped and enabled, and it works. Started nvidia geforce exp, separated audio chanels, clicked always on the mic (which doesnt work and is always push to talk) made a recording but only the game audio was recorded... mic is razer seiren mini.
I watched so many vids and tried so much hacks. But still I do not get two audio tracks for highlights though for the other recording options it works just fine. So annoying...
thank you! In my case, my mic was on push to talk and the letter I configured was not saved so it was not recording my voice when I was pushing the button
hi i have a question. I have no problem when saving videos with my voice audio but when I have my controller plugged in (sometimes I use it for certain games) it doesn't record my voice audio, do you know a fix for this!?
Can be due to more than a few reasons.. It depends on the mic, controller, input method, etc. .. If u can specify wat devices you are using, I could check..
Hi ! thanks for the video! However, mine is recording but I can only hear my voice from one side! Can you please give me some trick on how to fix that? Thank you!
Sounds like a headphone or speaker issue rather than the mic.. Even if the mic records mono audio, you would still hear the sound on both sides of ur headphone. I would check the headphones in another pc and check if it's playing sound in stereo mode.
Try this. Go to ur sound settings, under recording tab, you be able to see ur mic. Right click on that and select it as Default device. That will make the pc use ur USB mic as default input device.
Use Obs, you can select which audio track you want to record. You and your party should use discord for communication. In obs, you can select the game application as audio source so that obs will record only the sound from game. Make sure that ingame voip is disabled.
Hi.. That cud be bcuz of wrong drivers or ur mic not being able to control the input. You can try uninstalling ur mic drivers completely and restart ur pc and let windows install the driver automatically. If that doesn't fix it or makes things worse, revert back to ur original drivers. If that's the case, then probably ur mic doesn't have any boost or noise cancelling feature in it.
@@playwithj16 LOL it wasn't any of that. It was just my mic volume was below 100 and the boost is changeable when you put your voice to 100 and then adjust the boost - preferably 0 for better sound -
Bruhhhh. Ive been looking through my mic settings, NVidia Container settings, discord settings etc etc and it turns out shadow play was muted?? I didnt mute it, it got muted after an update. WHY NVIDIA WHY?? Thanks a lot man! :D
