Glad they decides to do something with Moon moon rather than let it rot as a one off wacky arc in ZZ, pretty sure moon gundam is a prototype for Sazabi
so moon gundam was a prototype for the sazabi but it fail to match combat style that char want for a suit, so it was given to a pilot he trusts to guard the last of Zabi family.

Closer to CCA; the Moon Gundam has the head and plates of the Psycho Gundam MkIV and the body of Sazabi''s prototype (I can't remember the name atm). This can also be said to be a trial run for Amuro for when he fights Char for the last time.
