As a combat veteran I've lost some brothers. But, honestly, all I can think about while I listen to this song is the dog that helped me through the years following. She was my best friend and I walk with her everyday, despite the fact she died three years ago. Thanks, Arlo. For speaking for my soul.

My Best friend and I used to listen to this beautiful song often, and say how we played it for the many friends we'd lost to addiction. We had Lost so many at that point that we couldn't keep count anymore. Lost her this past June when she went back down that dark road one night, while mourning her sister who'd lost to her own demons just a week prior. I asked her to make me a playlist shortly before they both left this world. I hadn't opened it until now, because there were just too many emotions. I'm alone for Christmas and wanted to open it in her memory. Of course, this song is at the top of the playlist. I should have known. Miss you everyday, Tam. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

No matter what background you have or where you come, if you feel some one is struggling mentally, physically, emotionally etc. Don't be that guy and turn your back on em. I also have a mother that I am not ashamed to say is easily one of my best friends. Tomorrow she will drop me off at detox/mental health institution for the fifth time in my life. @@triciaagnew3278 I do, to friends, parents and mental health professionals. Talking only accomplishes so much. I already have the plans for when my parents are no more. So long as I outlive my parents I'll have kept my promise to them. After that, I'd welcome death as I doubt anything will change markedly enough to make me want to keep struggling.

My best friend died at 23 12/18/09 on his way to my house, 10 months later my other bestfriend died at 21. In 2015 our bestfriend shot himself, 2 weeks later 3 of my friends were in a car wreck one of my bestfriends survived, his girlfriend and his bestfriend died. This song hits hard

My best friend died last year. April 19th 2020. We been best friends for along time. We met in school and we hung out everyday after school and we even would stay the night at each other's place is on the weekends just having a blast. And he was always there to help out. He helped me get through some tough times like when both of our friends name Dylan passed away. He helped me move and he was there supporting me when my little brother passed. he did a lot of drugs it messed up his brain and it ended up putting him in jail for a while and he ended up getting clean. But then he had mental issues due to the past drug use and ended up slipping into a psychosis when is brain chemistry went off balance and while he was unconscious he went wandering into the woods and then got lost and died of hypothermia. I miss him so much he was one of my soal brothers.

Makes me think of and remember my friend Pete. We lost touch after high school, I joined the service and went away. Married, two kids, found out he'd lost his mind off his meds and pulled a gun on a cop. Can't blame the cop.
Pete visited me a few times. Led me through a maze that was a bar, didn't say a word, I just followed. At the end of the bar, he let me know everything was okay.
