ugh, I can feel the frustation of 2020 radiating through this video. Glad you have a positive mindset about it. If you do have the down time while waiting for the parts, I sent you an email with a bunch of parts I would like to purchase. Since it seems like the shipping quotes needed to be fixed, let me know how to go about purchasing said items. Take care!
If you don't hear from me this weekend, shoot me an email and crack the whip. I'm having a hell of a time trying to keep up with things given the... Situations lol. Sorry for letting you down on replies...
@@Redpantslol Thanks, Rich. I'll support the best I can because I think what you are doing for the Aston community is awesome. I'm trying not to overwhelm you with repeat emails since I know you are overloaded as is. Mine is not a big rush, it just consists of maintenance parts and a combination of CF parts for the winter project. I wish there was a way to help you triage your emails ;) Best of luck.
Yep, I've spent many hours on TX, NM, and AZ highways. Miles and miles of places you don't want a failure. Glad it happened before. Radiator had a good run. Sent you an email, which is in your many you mentioned. Feel free to reach out when in Phoenix.
I was actually going to reach out when I locked in my AZ dates. But with how everything's been going I didn't want to make plans before I could follow through, and... Case in point... I'll have to bypass AZ in order to make it to my family in time for Christmas 😓
Hey Rich, sh*t happens but man, it will be great to see it in action once its sorted and then silence certain individuals. Keep the videos coming... ...and my ACR spoiler when things settle down 😉👍🏻
I was expecting much worse based on the video icon. Sucks. But relatively easy fix. Love the vids. Looking to buy one of these. Or a 94-04 Lotus Esprit.
Nah, sticking with the V8's radiator. The cooling systems on these cars are actually really good, especially on the early V8s with the larger oil cooler. I'm not worried about sticking with standard in this case, and it also helps test the standard cooling system anyway... If anything lets go again, I know upgrades are needed!
Stock for both of our cars was 380 BHP at the flywheel, which translates to about 300 to 320 at the wheels. We will reveal the results shortly, but suffice it to say, both cars are strong. :-)
So even if you won't take my money for a supercharger (or order me any wheels!), would you at least sell us that cool Tshirt? :) (also very excited for the actual numbers)
I tried getting a bunch of apparel made a while back and it came out horribly. I ended up throwing away a ton of ton because it was embarrassingly bad. The only thing I kept was my jacket. It'll be a while till I get the courage to throw money at that again 😓 I have some stuff for you, been a bit scattered to the winds. Shoot me an email this weekend if you don't hear from me!
@@michaeld9610 right where I live the heat can easily be above 50 degrees centigrade. I know Aston tested the Vantage in Dubai in the summer but they never hit 50. Imagine that happening to you in the middle of summer in the desert.
@@greathey1234 I think at 50 degrees my heart would give up before the car failed 😉. The Aston kit for 20bhp just adds opening vents to the airboxes, and its very expensive because it can be, it has an Aston Martin badge on it. There are much less expensive ways to add power without affecting reliability
The OEM Power Pack is expensive because of how it's designed, not because that's the cost of adding 20 hp to a V8V. I had that kit on my car and almost every component of it has been removed between mods I've done (the supercharger, and mods before it). This is the first "major" incident I've had, and it hasn't led me to rethink things. As I said in the video, it happened in the best way possible. I'll be carrying on as soon as my new radiator arrives. The changes to my road trip plans are based entirely on scheduling - I have to shorten my drive in order to get to my family by Christmas. Otherwise, I wouldn't change anything 🙂
So, dyno results, bet you didn't see any 200hp gains hence no figures shown for the other V8V, mine made 503 and 507 on two different dynos, nothing like the the 583hp Graham quoted me. I'll stop there!
Yes, but are you getting better torque performance from lower relative revs? I think its worth it, even if top BHP figures maybe short. Can the tyres handle nearly 600 BHP anyway? Enjoy your new toy! Best wishes.
Hey Rich, another great Hitchhikers Guide reference slid in there, well done..Godspeed.
Sorry to hear buddy! Happy it will be sorted relatively quickly
Scary thing, easy fix. I'm not phased at all :)
As you say, lucky this happened when it did. Simple fix though. Another good video, always have that glass of red on hand

@@Redpantslol No worries Rich. If things change, let me know. Be nice to get our modded 07 Vantages together. And that S/C has my interest.
So is there ever any follow-up to this??
What were the supercharged hp results?

I've still got that set aside for you 😅
Which supercharger kit have you installed? I've been searching and other than the GMR kit it's been impossible to source one.
Rad Richard from now on...gonna let the fb group know 😜

Lol thanks guys 😂

so how much did the other Vantage pull on the dyno?
I hope you're planning to change it for a radiator from V12 Vantage.

I am just wondering what figures do they give on a dyno on a stock 4.3 ???
with a stock 6 speed manual

That what stops me from supercharging mine. Aston have a very expensive kit to raise the 4.3 engine by a mere 20 horses for a reason.
Because you're concerned about Aston radiators? Honestly they are just like any other car radiators, don't let it stop you adding more fun to your car
