No because when he gets to GM they would perfect counter and win every match because the people that high already sometimes know who Marc is and the names associated with the challenges and counter for an easy win.
You have to be much better than your opponent to survive a perfect counter but since Marc is locked to the challenges he has no choice but to keep the same unit composition instead of adapting.

Why do people have such big problems with smurfs in the first place? If I lose to a far superior player I'd usually just sit there, clap and not hesitate to watch the replay. All I lose are a few mmr points which I will easily gain back in the next 2 or 3 games. I'd find it very interesting to play against a top player like uthermal, even though it would mean that I'd get torn apart completely from all sides. I don't get how this can be a problem for so many players when we are talking about a competitive game where players try to improve with each game.
Because people aren't always playing to improve, they are playing for fun. If I play 8 games and half are against smurfs then I'm probably going to be losing 6 of those 8 games and I only have so much leisure time. I could practice starcraft for a year and I would still lose to uThermal 100% of the time. Much like if uThermal was challenged by Alexander Ovechhkin to play a game of hockey. It would be a blow out and while it could be amusing to watch Marc get dunked on at the end of the day the difference in skill is too great. I know I'm not good at some games but the point of MMR (or the like) is try to set up a pairing where each player has a near 50% probability of winning. Smurfs destroy that balance.

But are half of your games really against smurfs? I’m always hovering around 3k mmr, which means I keep going back and forth in plat 1 and 2. I think I had two or three games that I thought I played against a Smurf in the past 3 or 4 years.
Yeah it’s not a problem if it’s once in a while but a noob like me sees it fairly often on the lower levels. IMO it’s kinda cowardly. But I do think Marc does it solely for entertainment reasons and so I give it a pass because I enjoy his content.

In the last game you killed a 300 (+50) mineral hatchery for 900 minerals, not really worth ot move I'd say lol
Yes, but that also means Zerg is significantly slowed down. Now they only have a single Hatchery making Queens and Drones, Zerglings and Roaches. You might have lost money in the process but you are now ahead in creating army units. If you were to expand on top of that you would have been even more ahead - it would take a while for Zerg to remake that Hatchery to make sure it is up this time.
Wait what? A 4.5k opponent? Wasn't the speedrunning challenge up to like 6k?
