    Hello everyone!
    I have a new Terrazzo inspired earrings tutorial for you guys! In this tutorial I will also show how I add earring posts without glue. It’s so easy. Skip to 5:55 to check that out.
    I forgot to mention in the video, I baked my component for about 15mins after covering 😅
    Also don't forget to visit my Etsy shop. There are tons of new earrings available there.
    Thank you so much for your love and support! 🥰

    These are SO beautiful.
    I have just recently started making polymer earings.... I have made a lot to see what my preferred way of attaching the earring studs to the backing.... and now seeing you doing the way you do them it does looks very nice 😊 thanks for all the beautiful work you do yay

      I’m so happy you enjoy this method. I think it’s very clean and easier than covering the whole back 😊

    After you add the stud and cover it with clay do you bake it or leave it raw?

    • @FernMitchHandmade

      Yes! I’m so sorry I totally forgot to mention that on the video. I baked them for about 15mins. Thank you for pointing that out! 😊

    Thank you so much for teaching and sharing your knowledge. Helps a newbie like me who still experiments with clay. What clay brand did you use?

    Love your tutorials, I was curious on this as I use glue, and then another layer of clay and bake again.Do you re-bake after you add your posts and backing clay? X

      Thank you 🥰 yes I bake it for about 30mins after I put the top layer. I’m sorry I totally forgot to mention that on the video.

      Fern&Mitch Handmade great thanks I thought so too :-) I had some trouble baking peach effect fimo and pearl marble each time I put the backs on and baked them again, they changed colour. It happened twice :-( I think the oven was too hot. I liked your tip to use a smaller circle for the back, I tried it this morning :-) xx

      Your very welcome! Yes Premo beige is like that too sometimes. Make sure you have a thermometer. Sometimes ovens fluctuate a lot. It’s annoying! Best of luck with your projects 🥰

    Love this design!! I’m curious how thick you make your earring pieces? I know you use a pasta machine but if you did not, how thick would you say you usually make the pieces?

      Thank you 🥰 as I mentioned it the video, I roll my slabs to be about 3mm

    Great job. How do you prevent your clay surface from being uneven after baking? Mine seems to have little bubbles. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

    • @FernMitchHandmade
      @FernMitchHandmade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s air trapped in between clay when conditioning. Best way to avoid them is baking your pieces in between tiles. If you haven’t seen I display this method on the Gold Marble tutorial. You can also let the slab rest and lay a piece of copy paper and kind of burnish the surface without pressing. This can smoothen the surface. If everything else fail, I’d recommend carefully sanding down the air bubbles with a higher grit sandpaper. I hope this helps. 😊

    Good Morning. I found your jewelry inspiring, I live in Brazil and I have difficulty finding molds to make my pieces. Do you have any indication how you could make the molds? I really liked this U shape. Thank you

      There are few tutorials here on TH-cam on how to make cutters out of a tin can. Also you can just draw/print out a shape and cut it from a cardboard to trace around the shape. I hope this helps and thank you 🥰

    OMG! I love your work!!! I started working with polymeric clay, I use Premo and soufflé, but after baking my creations they are broken by touching them, any advice you can give me? or something that is possibly doing wrong? I follow the instructions that come in the packaging and still break. Thank you!

    • @FernMitchHandmade
      @FernMitchHandmade  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ada gomez thank you so much 🥰 I don’t usually follow the time on the packaging. I bake mine for minimum of 1hr. If you keep it below 275F they shouldn’t burn. Make sure your use a thermometer.
      Those two brands shouldn’t break simply when touched. Under baking could be your problem 🤔

      Thank you so much for watching. 🥰 I love to use Premo and sculpey soufflé. If you would like them to look nice and matte go with soufflé.
