You don't need every single tool you see other people using. Depending on if you are making these to sell, or just for fun, you can decide what you want to invest in.
Here are my bare minimum suggested tools:

Easy to understand and very basic, yet I've learned a lot, even though I've been working with polymer clay for about 1 year. I've made mostly necklaces and give them out for birthday gifts. Makers gotta make! :) I tried using air dry clay at home but it's just not the same (much too brittle).
