The iPhone 13 and 13 Mini currently stand as what I would consider the best iPhone for most people in 2023- and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Really great phones- not cheap, but worth buying if you want an iPhone.
Also, definitely worth picking up over the iPhone 14 if you want to save a little cash.
iPhone 11 or 12 superior, but I, use an iPhone 8

You nailed it. 0 reason to get a 14, unless you want to shell out for the Pro or Pro Max sure. But getting the 13 or 13 mini is the way to go right now.
I switched from an iPhone 11 to a 13 on launch day and have loved the experience since day 1. After the 14 came out, I didn’t feel any pressure at all to upgrade since the 14 uses the same chipset as the 13 anyway. Even now my phone battery last all day and the phone itself is in great condition, since the build quality was very solid. I don’t take lots of pictures, but those I do take do look pretty good, since the cameras in the 13 are pretty great. Basically, I can confirm everything you said about the base model 13. It’s still one of the best phones on the market, so if someone is still rocking a XR, 8, XS, etc and are worried about future proofing your tech, upgrading to the 13 would be a great choice. And for those on older devices… yeah it would be a wise choice, considering how older devices would be stuck at iOS15 or lower.

I’ve been using my 13 mini since it’s launch day, late September 2021, and it has been a phenomenal phone so far. It’s still the best small phone you can buy imo, even if it is technically the last generation model

Me too, I got my iPhone 13 mini back in September and I love it, the battery did go down though but I’m trying to get an iPad so I don’t really care.

I upgraded from an iPhone XR (White, 64 GB)🤍 to an iPhone 13 (Pink, 128 GB)🩷 about a month ago since the battery life on my XR was deteriorating (I had it for 2 years) and the storage. iPhone 13 is great phone to upgrade if you’re coming from an XR or an 11
Yesterday I made the switch from the SE 2020 to the 13 in pink. I have had the SE since release and still runs like day one but battery life has become unbearable, especially now that we are going back to having more life outdoors and I’ll be travelling for work soon. I honestly got sick of carrying cables and external battery everywhere so I found a refurbished one in a local shop (grade A and still in warranty from previous owner) and I am absolutely in love with it. I thought getting used to Face ID and the lack of home button was going to be a pain but it’s just so easy to use that I don’t regret the switch at all.
Same here with SE 2020…loved mine but battery failing. It was a great phone the SE and charged fast and not often, but it was time for a new one

Could you please say that what's your battery health number right now? I've also been using my 13 since December 2021 and my battery health is at 92%. However the battery life isn't great anymore

edit: charged over night everyday with apples 20w charger.
I have a iPhone 13 pro and I’m at 89% battery and I get through a day I got it on October 2021
@@karenpour7870 I don't know if this data could be useful but mine since december 2021 and still on 100% (Using the "super slow" 5W charger and playing with it while charging from time to time)
In my case i just put the phone to charge while im doing other stuff, so it feels like nothing, same with every model i had.
@@psp4gamer thanks for sharing your own experience. I personally Use the official 20W Apple adapter. I tried to use the 5w charger, but it was just too slow to charge my phone.
Honestly, any iPhone that’s still supported today is usable in 2023 with no problems. I got the XS for $150 and there’s no lag or performance issues
I just upgraded from my 11 to the 13, I've only had it 3 days and it is already my favorite iPhone by far.
Pretty nice job on reviewing the iPhone 13 after a year and I would say one of the big reasons to get the 13 is it has a physical SIM at least here in the states. The E-Sim thing as a person who has a phone that I use for running that's really small. I guess I'll be keeping my iPhone 13 a long time and then when you travel it's so much easier to just stick a new sim in it. I don't know what Apple's thinking least here in the States
Been using my iPhone 13 since march when the green came out and the battery life is amazing and easily last me 8-10 hours and I can see myself using this for the next 2-3 years

Got a brand new 13 for $200 off retail a month before the 14 came out. I saw leaks that the base model 14 wasn’t getting the Dynamic Island. No regrets at all.

I upgraded from iPhone 11 to 13, much more worth it compared to the 14. Only reason would've been the big display on the 14 plus, but for 200€ extra, it didn't make sense for me.

I got my iPhone 13(blue) in October 2022 and it’s Ben holding up brilliantly. The battery life is great(but it degraded quickly for me) and the screen and video quality is excellent. This was a massive upgrade for me being a iPhone 6 user since 2019. It’s still worth it in my opinion and is a better choice than the iPhone 14 plus
I upgraded in August from a Galaxy A01 to an iPhone 13 and I’m loving it, I do however think the Samsung s23 or 22 would’ve been the better move
i just got into the iphone with the se 3rd gen.....being on a smaller budget and going from a 6.4 inch android phone has its advantages and disadvantages......have had it for about a month and it's starting to grow on me.
Went from the 11Pro max to the blue 13. While I miss the larger screen occasionally and the longer battery life, camera has been great for my needs, handles my daily tasks well which mainly insist of CarPlay and music while driving and at work

I got the 13 Mini a month ago, and haven't looked back. I've fallen in love with the format, and the performance is typical Apple (very good). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!!
I switched from the s21 to 13 on Black Friday. Kept my plan the same price but went from 20gigs to 50gigs a month, and $10 a month for 2 years. CDN. Not a logical change spec wise, but from a social and family perspective Apple suites my use case better.

The only reason I’d get a 14 (base or otherwise) was if there was a good carrier deal. They should have made a 14 pro, kept the 13 mini and made a 13 plus ( the regular size 14) and called it a day

Sister bought iPhone 13 Pro month after iPhone 14 series got to store shelf's, and well, she is amazed with it. With 256GB of storage and in Graphite plus 50GB iCloud for system backups (which is absolutely worth it) and great camera systems (my Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro can hide with it's camera systems, but that phone is almost 3 years old, so yeah, plus it was higher-end mid-range device/best buy in my price range then).
Probably will get her iPhone14 Pro within few weeks when it is time for mobile contract extension and get her iPhone to me as my secondary phone (Android phones for me are main ones), just to be, brother which she loves as it will get slim upgrade of phone, but still, for me, who used iPhone 6 as last iPhone (when my Samsung was broken 3 years ago) which I got second hand for cheap on location where I was on vacation (about 80$ with cheap silicone case, new original cable and new screen protector, plus original earbuds which were unused plus delivery to apartment on island) the 13 Pro will be great secondary device, mostly for video shooting and photography.
Currently watching this on my iPhone 6s while my iPhone 14 Pro sits idling on my bedside table. 😂 I only realized after the return window that I prefer a smaller sized iPhone. I should’ve gone with the SE3 or the 13 Mini.

Battery Is Horrible My Stays Overheating My Battery Capacity Keeps Dropping Haven’t Had Year
The only issue i am facing is the battery degradation issue on my iphone 13. If u want to avoid battery degradation avoid games fully , I play few games that has low intensity graphics usage bit still degraded fast.
I got the 12 mini for my daughter through AT&T just a couple day ago.

Currently watching this fantastic video on my regular iPhone 13 (256gb) blue variant.
Been using this phone for almost a year now and I can agree that this iPhone is a good deal in 2023 especially to those who wants to buy an iPhone this year.
The only issue I'm having with this iPhone is the battery. For 11 months my battery health dropped to 93% and I've been following the 20-80 rule in terms of charging.
I have to admit that I'm a heavy user and that I play a lot of heavy games like APEX LEGENDS, MLBB, CODM, Asphalt 9, and even Diablo Immortal and Genshin impact.
So obviously my battery won't last long. But I did try to use it on a regular basis and it did work pretty well.
But for me the battery is still the issue.
I plan on keeping this iPhone for 3-5 years before upgrading to the latest iPhone pro max again. Maybe Apple will change the name. Who knows.
But overall: iPhone 13 is the best deal to get this year 2023 ❤️

Ironically as a first time Apple user, I bought the SE3 as I could not get my head around the £250 price difference. Gonna upgrade to that red mini when the price drops after the release of the 15 (cos that color is sick).

The only thing I would say about the 14 plus is it is expensive but especially in the UK, however the 14 plus is around £47 a month and the same spec on the pro is around £55 a month, which for the same size and yeah a much better phone in the pro, that's £8 a month which over 36 months is a lot of money overall saved

i switched from an 8 plus to a 13 and i’ve had so many problems with my 13.. Two months after i got it, it overheated, died, then blew up, and all it does it overheat really bad 😢
I traded my 14 pro max for a 13.. 100% because I hate esim!! I switch between Samsung and iPhone often and I don’t want to go to my phones carrier every time I want to switch. I always regretted upgrading from my original 13.

The minor difference between the 13 and 14 is that the 14 has a bigger camera lens in the rear and it’s only an 0.01 thicker but that’s about it

Upgrade to the iPhone 14 Plus f from the iPhone 13 because I needed access to the 3.45 on C-Band for AT&t for carrier aggregation with 3.7 which the iPhone 13 series does not support.

defo the phone I would recommend to most people right now if you want to buy new and aren't bothered about the pro features. But overall the phones to get have to be either the 14pro, 13 pro or regular 13

Got it for Christmas and its serving me well. Definitely wont have to upgrade for at least a few years, only wish I had a 120hz refresh rate.

They are approx $1,300 here in Australia thats how much is it to but outright from a retailer here ,but mine is on a cheap plan it has 128gb iPhone 13 but it's my first iPhone ever im happy with it

i went from the 11 pro max to the 13 back in april of 2022. it’s been great, but after a year i’m noticing that it’s starting to get some issues, nothing major enough to upgrade though.

@@satisfactory3368 freezing, it does this thing where the tint of the screen flashes from blue to yellow, it lags while i try to switch apps sometimes

I just got my iPhone 13 like two weeks ago and it’s not so bad but I have noticed that my battery does die a lot faster than the android phone I was coming from And I’m not sure why cause I know my battery health this is 100% I’m running iOS 17.3.3 the latest update, released as of October 5, 2023 or at least that’s what my phone received the update
