  • Wait, aren't fruits harmful because they contain sugar?! Not by a long shot. Fruits are not only healthy for your entire body, they can also help support your thyroid gland.
If you are someone with thyroid disease, or if you are just looking to support your thyroid to keep it healthy, this information is for you.
Fruits work to help your overall health by providing a natural source of fiber, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals, and polyphenols.
These ingredients help your body fight of inflammation, protect your cells, help with weight loss, and so much more.
When it comes to your thyroid, a few fruits stand above others.
    These include:
    1. Blueberries. Packed full of nutrients, blueberries clock in at 85 calories per serving. These are low carb and have some of the best health benefits of any fruit.
    2. Goji berries. Goji berries act as both a fruit and an adaptogen which means they can help with adrenal fatigue, vitality, and cortisol imbalance.
    3. Avocados. This fruit is high in healthy fats which makes it unusual among those listed here. Healthy fats and fiber is the name of the game here.
    4. Kiwis. These fruits contain huge amounts of vitamins and minerals in each serving beating out some of the more common fruits you know of.
    5. Coconut. This high fat fruit is a great source of medium chain triglycerides which makes it ideal if weight gain is a problem for you.

Thank you Dr. Childs for making this video. Every time I hear someone claim that fruits are villains, they lose credibility with me. My grandmother lived to be 105. She wasn’t on any medication, and she lived pain free. She was a big fruit eater, and she didn’t like vegetables. One of her daily fruits, and one of her favorites, were oranges.

My thyroid only improves when I remove all plants from my diet, along with removing fluoride from my drinking water. I switched to carnivore two years ago this August, and the first year I stayed stable, with in increase in medication, which hasn't happened in all the years since I've been diagnosed. Then about a year ago I also removed fluoride and they've actually had to reduce my medication three times, which definitely has never happened. I've been eating "healthy" since 2015 when I was first diagnosed, and it was just a pattern of getting my numbers stable then the next time they were up again and they had to increase my dosage. Now they're decreasing it. Of course everyone is different, so I'm not saying this is the answer for everyone, but it's certainly been the answer for me.
And I'll add that my thyroid wasn't the reason I switched to carnivore, nor was my bipolar disorder or anxiety. I switched due to severe digestive issues and very severe bloating. But carnivore addressed all of my digestive issues AND completely reversed all of my mental illness symptoms, plus got ride of a bunch of other more minor things, and has greatly improved my hypothyroidism. It's been nothing short of a miracle for me.

    Is berberine a fruit?
Are these other fruits good for weight loss/toning?
I think I have a slight reaction to berberine, I’d like natural ways to feel and look better.
I’ve only had a low dose berberine supplement a couple of times and it seems like it effects my neck/throat, like a swallow itchy feeling.

Does Dr. Childs have invisalign in the video? I was actually contemplating getting it myself but I read that the plastic or whatever in it can be problematic for Hashi's, also dental treatments in general can trigger it.

Most fruits have a low glycemic index (GI) because of their fructose and fiber content. Melons and pineapple have medium GI values as do some dried fruits such as dates, raisins and sweetened cranberries. Overall, fruit is encouraged when using the glycemic index to guide food choices-so enjoy.
