  • Many patients with Hashimoto's feel frustrated. They don't like the idea of taking thyroid medication for life and they don't like the idea of feeling like there's nothing they can do to help themselves feel better.
    The good news is they can do something: take supplements.
    The right supplements are not only safe, they can also be effective at improving thyroid and immune function in people with autoimmune thyroiditis.
    Here are 6 supplements that can help you feel better if you have Hashimoto's:
    1. Zinc
    Zinc helps support the immune system, thyroid function, and thyroid conversion.
    My recommended zinc supplement: www.restartmed...
    2. Selenium
    Selenium helps increase T3 and provides protection to the thyroid gland against oxidative stress.
    Selenium is also found in my recommended zinc supplement: www.restartmed...
    3. Adrenal support
    Adrenal adaptogens help provide energy and can be combined with thyroid glandulars for even better results.
    My recommended adrenal support supplement: www.restartmed...
    4. Probiotics and Prebiotics
    20% of T3 is created in the gut and it's a major site of immune regulation. The easiest way to improve your gut health is by taking probiotics and prebiotics.
    My recommended probiotic supplement: www.restartmed...
    5. Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2
    Vitamin D3 protects your thyroid gland from thyroid cancer and thyroid autoimmune diseases while vitamin K2 helps with calcium shuttling.
    My recommended vitamin D3 + K2 supplement: www.restartmed...
    6. Black seed oil (Nigella Sativa)
    Nigella sativa (the plant that produces black seed oil) has been shown in a double-blind placebo-controlled trial to help improve thyroid function and lower thyroid antibodies.
    My recommended black seed oil: www.restartmed...

      If I have burning in my Thyroid I take Black seed oil and it helps so much. I also have made an essential oil roller bottle with Walnut oil and Frankincense (Boswellia) which also helps.

      What I will try though is "castor oil compresses" on the front of the neck/thyroid area.
      Castor oil compresses definitely helped my wife get rid of fibroids in her uterus and I read it helps with thyroid too.

    Can you do a video on "How should a day of Hypo Thyroid Patient should look like in regards to food and medicine intake?" I mean the order in which they should take food and medicines right from the morning to night... Also how should they club all this in with the other (high sugar) diabetes or high bp medications?

    High hopes Alphafold 3 is going to reveal what exactly triggers the autoimune response and with that, help researchers come up with a treatment for once and for all, hang in there everyone ❤

      "Recent research indicates that AlphaFold 3's advanced predictive abilities can significantly speed up the drug discovery process. By mapping interactions between proteins and other molecules, AlphaFold 3 can help identify potential drug targets and design molecules that effectively bind to these targets, which is a critical step in developing new therapies for diseases like thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism"

    When my D levels went from 68 to 50, my TPO went from 28 to 41. Now, 5,000 a day was half the dose I was taking when it decreased as opposed to 20,000 a day with 100 mcg of K2mk7 when my vitamin D hit 100.
    My TSH went from 3.5 to 5 after replacing rhodiola with ashwagandha.
    I've been taking MACA for a month and I'll come back for feedback

    • @lobotomizedamericans
      @lobotomizedamericans 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem is it's *extremely* difficult to tell what's going on outside of a controlled clinical setting. There are so many other factors that happen in year or even a month's time. Diet, stress, exercise, other drugs/supplements, environmental factors, etc. How can we actually know for sure that a change of supplement was the causal factor in affecting our TSH levels? It's a tough one, really.

    • @rodrigsantsil
      @rodrigsantsil 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lobotomizedamericans When you the same things and take the same supplements but suddenly you start taking a new one and you do a blood test and it shows something awry, it could well be that. I won't be able to find out as I've made changes to my diet to lower my TPO and stopped taking ashwagandha. There are studies that say it could be a problem to your thyroid.

    • @lobotomizedamericans
      @lobotomizedamericans 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rodrigsantsil Yeah I know what you're saying. Though I would suggest to be careful with long-term Ashwagandha use, because it has been reported to also cause "loss of emotions", and *may* worsen depression symptoms (due to its calming effects).

    • @rodrigsantsil
      @rodrigsantsil 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lobotomizedamericans Thanks for the tip! I stopped taking it because of the increase in my TSH. I don't know what it's like now. I'll be having another blood test in a few weeks from now. I've also stopped taking lugol after 8 years. Now that my ferritin is 122 as opposed to 41, I'm hoping to see improvement iny T3 and T4. I also suspect this tooth implant I got in 2021 might've caused problems to TSH (they didn't use zirconium). I'll increase my MACA daily dosage intake, if my TSH is still as high. Let's wait and see. Thanks for the info, doctor. God bless you and have a great day.

    • @lobotomizedamericans
      @lobotomizedamericans 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rodrigsantsil No problem you as well. And remember the best (and right) time to test thyroid related things (eg. TSH, FT3/FT4, etc.) is always in the mornings shortly after you wake up (before eating anything of course). This is because your TSH levels fluctuate through the day due to all kinds of factors. For example my TSH is completely normal in the afternoon/evening, but in the mornings its quite elevated (between 8 and 15). Some people test it all weird times of the day and never realize they have an issue because it's in the normal range.
