When I start my refrigerator I put a frozen 1gallon water bottle in the freezer and the fridge. It really speeds up the cooling and uses a lot less energy. ✌🏻🇺🇸

I keep a few 16.9 ounce water bottles in the house freezer for the same purpose.
Added benefit is when you are camping and want to go on a hike or the beach you can take them with you to drink later or even put them in a cooler.

I also put a cup of frozen water in my freezer. I put a cup of water in my home freezer too. Then I put a coin on top. If at any point the coin sinks at all or drops to the bottom, I know the freezer lost power abs there could be issues with the food.

Great idea for the refrigerator adding a small pc fan with rechargeable battery. I’ve added one to the back of my refrigerator to get better cooling from the outside air. Also if you mounted that refrigerator fan to the bottom of the shelf vs the top you will have more space in the refrigerator.

In my Salem 167RBX I used a couple of those broom handle clamps attached to the wall behind the toilet to hold a Swiffer broom/mop to keep it out of the way. In the campground I live in the cell coverage is very spotty. I needed altitude for a stronger cell signal. I used a painter's roller extension handle wit a WeBoost RV antenna attached to the top. The pole is held to the camper with larger handle clamps in much the same way as my Swiffer is attached to the bathroom wall. If need be, I can extend the antenna to 24 feet. Of course, it comes down for storage while travelling.

Thanks great ideas. Similiar to your cheap curtain rod for the cabinet, I use a larger shower curtain rod in the bathroom against the wall to hang towels. I created a shelf in my pass through storage with 5x5 vinyl fence post and a light piece of plywood. My ladder and a few other things fit below making them accessible without unloading my whole compartment.

The best thing I did to add kitchen form and function to our Mallard M260 was to buy a wall unit at a thrift store to store my plates, bowls, food storage containers, pots, pans and small appliances. Put stopper casters on it so it's easy to store with bungie cords against the kitchen area and secure the casters. We use the top of it for food prep.

My favorite mods are, 1) I 3D printed a fan housing that fits over a couple of the fins and using the same style computer FAN I wired it into the Dometic Light hot side of the switch, so it is powered by the RV all the time. 2) Hangers over the washroom door to hang cloths or damp towels on, Just hooks over the door and provides 6 nice chrome hooks. 3) Under Counter dimming strip lights, I got them so they run on 12v, wired into the existing counter lights, just wave your hand under the first light and it lights up the entire counter with warm white LED light, the longer you hold your had, the brighter they get. 4) Put a Bar fridge in the rear storage outside compartment, and added an outlet to plug it in.... Great for those days you go shopping and come back with more than will fit in the tiny RV Fridge... Essentially doubles our cold storage for like a hundred bucks... Thanks for the great video, Some ideas I never thought of that I will take from it... Cheers!

Some great ideas here. Thank you for the suggestions . Just a word to the wise, we tried the command hooks holding up the racks in our closet. It was a big fail! We also tried tension rods holding them up. Also a fail. The only thing that worked was creating two sidewalls out of thin plywood and creating rails out of trim to hold the racks. This was the only way to keep the racks up without them falling. In the end it works perfectly and no nails in the walls of the closet were needed.

My only ideal is I go to dollar tree an get the rolls of bags for pet clean up and I keep a roll in my drivers door of RV an Tow car because with the Corona virus I use the bag on my hand to pump gas 😎🤣 I get funny looks but keeps germs away!! Here’s the cheapest little trick. Do any of you keep some frozen food in your freezer between trips? Wonder if the power went out for a while and spoiled the food? Fill a soda cap with water and freeze and a coin next to it. Once the water is frozen place the coin on the ice in the cap. If the coin sinks to the bottom of the cap, you know the it thawed out and re freezed and the food is questionable.

I had a yacht in a harbor and you never knew if the shore power was lost during the week. It happened twice. Once when they had to move my boat for dock repairs and forgot to plug it back in. The other time when a storm shook the connection loose and back on again. Both times my trick told me to clean out the fridge. Safe better than sorry.

I’ve seen so many “hack” videos I almost didn’t watch this. I’m so glad I did!! I’m going to use 5 of them that I haven’t seen before. Especially the shelving idea. I have a small 20’ travel trailer and the hanging space is so short in the closets even shirts scrunch up at the bottom. I’ll do this shelving idea in each of them on either side of my bed. Thank you!!!

Went to Walmart and got spring rods and placed them inside of the window valances. We then got some thermal drapes and hung them on the rods. The drapes will keep the heat out during the day. That way you don't need to raise and lower the window shades and take a chance of messing them up.

i run a class c, space is tight. found that if i add a 12 v cig plug under the bed, then walmart has 12v dc clip on fans. with those i can move air even with out ac power. helps when you cant run the generator or be plugged in. can also be used while traveling to keep air moving for the back passengers or animals. the reason i added under the bed was that is where the aux batteries come in. so i am not running on the main battery. simple, and i used a little used circuit to hook up to(in this case the awning motor circuit.

Actually cheap, easy, & most of all USEFUL mods. Shelves hold so much more than hangars I don’t know why more closets aren’t like your mod. I also use computer fans in my mini fridge, but managed to get 2 wired to one usb port so I have one in each compartment & cut a slot in my gasket for the cord to plug in outside (sealed with Silicone caulk). But for a weekend or not wanting to muck with the gasket, the lipstick sized power banks make a lot of sense, as does how you lifted the shower mount. I like the way you think.

If the walkie-talkies are a significant advantage to you, and considering they are relatively inexpensive, you should consider a spare, identical set bc they are not very rugged. If one becomes OOS, you have nothing. You can always swap out a battery, or even lend one to another person if that situation comes up. Four is three, three is two, two is none.

Use induction cook top to avoid heating up the place when cooking. They do pull pretty good amps so be cautious to not trip fuses. Must use ss pans that a magnet will stick to

I have two and we use them exclusively when we cook inside, unless we are in a National Park and have no electricity. I would rather use the electricity I’m paying for at the campground than use my propane.
