Fading Steps:
5 guard on top length
1st step, guideline with zero (make sure it drops towards back)
2nd step, guideline with .5 (no guard lever open)
3rd step, guideline 1.5
4th step, 2.5 next guideline
5th step, 3.5 blend outwards
6th, step 4.5 blend to top
7th, step blend out top guideline w/ 1.5 guard open to 3 qtr
8th step, blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
9th step, continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard open to 3 qtr
10th step, blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
11th step, open lever half way, continue blending
12th step, continue blending with lever open
13th step, do any touch up work
14th step, use trimmers to take out bottom hair
15th step, use electric shaver
16th step, line up

Thanks for another great tutorial Sergio. I have a question about connecting the top to the rest of the head. You used guard number 5 and 3 for this. If you used guard number 6 on the top instead of 5, would you use number 4 for the connection with the sides and the back of the head?

Yet again blessed with another fire tutorial, i got a question, can you attack all the guide lines with the close, middel and open positions? I hope it makes sense
You can try it that way, but for me I feel like I don’t need to only for the last guideline. But by all means I encourage pple to try many ways so you can experience what works and what don’t because a lot of stuff makes sense in theory but might not actually work in practice.
