That macs gold has taken off in a short time I’ll have to pick your brain re the winter banana being somewhat compatible with a pear, would be cool if it could be used as a intergraft stock to make a tree with apple and pear
Hey Neil, yes the macs gold has been good but I think the lemon gold might’ve failed. I did some grafting of pear onto winter banana and winter banana onto quince. Both took but the graft eventually died after a few months, though it did shoot some growth. I think trying winter banana grafted onto pear would be my next try, worth mixing up between Asian and euro pears.
My Red Dacca has also flowered about 2 weeks back with same leaning problem. The hands are already out and I've covered the bunch. Fingers crossed we got to taste these great-looking red bananas before winter. Looks like they'll flower in Sydney autumn.

How do you water your fruit trees?
Mostly just with a hose. But I also have some sprinklers on timers which run 15 min every morning during hot periods
