Your dresses are beautiful. I especially love your Betty dresses. Gorgeous. I couldn’t take my eyes off Mr Bentley upside down sleeping away on his chair 😂. He’s so sweet. What a doll. 😊
Thanks for this, I am going to face my fears and try sewing a simple dress. I haven't sewed a piece of clothing for myself since high school. I am now 55. This video provided me with a few option so now I don't have to spend time searching. I am learning towards the London Dress. Thanks again from Fountain Hills AZ USA
That’s lovely so pleased you enjoyed my video and I’ve given you a bit of inspiration. The London dress is a lovely pattern to make. The only slightly time consuming bit is the facing around the key hole neckline. I decided to top stitch this in place instead of leaving it loose, I found this worked okay but obviously that’s personal preference 💖😊. I also enjoyed making both the peplum top and skirt from the same pattern pack. Hope you enjoy your project and thank you for watching. I traveled to AZ in the USA a while ago and really enjoyed it x
Me too, sewing is a little out of my comfort zone. I’m having trouble finding what I like in the shops.🤔 I’m going to try making my first dress at 76 years of age. I love your choice of dressers, they look lovely on you. Thank you, watching from Australia 🇦🇺🐨
That rose fabric for the hinterland dress is so pretty on you with your colouring. The Doris looks like a nice shape and I haven't seen many or perhaps any of these made up - I think some sew over it patterns go under the radar.
Thanks Hales 💖😊. Yeah I really like the hinterland dress and I’m thinking of making another one soon. I know what you mean about the Doris dress I’ve not seen too many made up either but it’s a nice pattern 👗🧵. Thanks for watching x
Hello Becky, thank you for a great video. Love all your pattern suggestions and the ones you have made are gorgeous. I do like the sew over it dresses but have not made any yet but after seeing yours I will have to make one. I think your sleepy dog behind you stole the show, very cute. 😄
Thank you, loved all your dresses and can’t wait to see the dresses that you haven’t made yet. I’ve made the Betty and the Butterick and love them. Your dog is beautiful 🥰
Lovely dresses! At 5’2” I have to shorten all sewing patterns. I’ve made 3 Tilly & the buttons indigo dresses in viscose fabrics which are lovely for summer. I have the hinterland pattern all ready for the perfect fabric ☺️
Love all of your dresses - thank you for sharing your beautiful makes. I’m 5’ 10” too and although it’s good to see someone young and slim and of the same height I’m not sure that I’ll be making many dresses.... but who knows ......... you have inspired me to have a look at your lovely dress pattern picks now though 🤓🏴
Thanks so much for so many choices 😃💞! Really need to pick a few to make for summer. All looked great on you! Your puppy was so good thru all that.. good dog! 🐾😊
What beautiful dresses. They looked amazing on you! I especially loved the Betty dress with the circle skirt and the Butterick one. But, tbh, they all looked really good and fitted perfectly and were so carefully finished. 😀 I have some lovely cotton fabric but it’s not a lawn or a poplin so is quite firm- do you have any suggestions for a dress pattern that would suit this type of cotton? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Many thanks.
Thanks for your message. I think the betty dress would work well in a cotton fabric if the Butterick pattern I made could also work 😊. Check out Sew over it though for other ideas, or I really like forget me not patterns too. 💖
Your dresses are beautiful and love your fabric choices, especially the vintage rose one ....Really enjoyed this vlog! I do find it impossible not to watch your lovely dog dozing .... so cute when his head drops off the arm .... I also had a Lab who tried to lay upside down in a too-small space 🥴
Thanks 😊 I tried the soi add on pack to add sleeves which includes a slightly different bodice but for some reason I couldn’t work out the fit for me! I’m sure you could add sleeves onto the original pattern you just may need to make a few adjustments x 🧵💖🧵
I’m surprised you loved the Hinterland, as Sew Liberated blocks start at a c cup. I’m not that busty, and I moved the darts from the side to the waist, and it looks as if you added waist darts as well. I may give it another try. It looks good on you!
Thanks 😊 I really like the hinterland dress but I think it’s because I added the waist ties to the back to bring it in at the waist. I kept the bust darts in the same place as the pattern 💖. Hope you enjoy it if you give it another try. Thanks for watching x
I love all your dresses. I have the Betty (or is it the Doris-I need to check-just got it!) and have waited a while to get one. I’ll be altering it soon to give it a go. They look so nice on you but all the dresses look fabulous on you I am quite tall too. Curious if you also have to add length in the top as well as the bottom. I’m equally proportioned and I have to add both places. It takes me a while to prepare to cut so I’m a slow sewer for output!
Thanks for watching 💖. I haven’t added any length to the bodice in either the Betty or Doris dresses and the length of the skirt was ok on me as well (I made the longer skirt on the Doris dress though). Hope you enjoy your projects, they are both lovely dresses to make x
Just saw your video for the first time today and really enjoyed it. I love summer dresses! Of all the patterns shown, which one has the least amount of gathers in the skirt? I am petite on top but have wide hips so keeping fullness to a minimum in the hip area is a must. Thanks so much.
Hi thanks for watching 😊💖. The sew over it Doris dress has quite a plain skirt with no gathers it is constructed using panels instead. The Tilly and the buttons Steve dress has no gathers and is more of a shift dress 👗. I really like the hinterland dress too as the skirt isn’t too full on that one either 💖. I hope that helps x
Great video! It was lovely to hear all about your dress choices. I love the Darling Ranges dress as you know. Also love the Doris dress it's not a SOI I've thought to try before. Your Stevie dress looks really pretty on but I feel the same as you in that style of dress so I know what you mean :) x
Thanks Sally :) yes I think the doris dress has gone under the radar a bit - it's a lovely summer dress and a style that doesn't really go out of fashion. Thanks for watching xx
Thank you 😊 💖 pleased you enjoyed seeing my dress collection. Yes, Bentley does like attention 💖 and loves to sit in the yellow chair. Thanks for watching x
Loving your dogs contortions in the background!! Love all the dresses.

Your dresses are beautiful. I especially love your Betty dresses. Gorgeous. I couldn’t take my eyes off Mr Bentley upside down sleeping away on his chair 😂. He’s so sweet. What a doll. 😊

The Betty dresses are my favorite...I also like the simple tunic dress that you are wearing at the end...And I love your sweet dog 🐕
Thank you 😊 yeah the Betty dresses are my favourite too, although the stevie tunic makes a nice change. Thanks for watching 💖 x
