    Super awesome review - SideTrackX - I am grateful for your compressive review of this model as the METRA model is the one I am interested in.
    Having some minor issue with my RAPIDO brand F40PH in CSX I was hesitant to acquire these METRA units, but your review changed my concern. Off to Lombard Hobbies I go

    i have the Metrolink and I think its an amazing model. A couple pieces knocked off due to packaging but otherwise its awesome. I like the Athearn Genesis P42 but I feel this blows it out of the water with the details. I sometimes think we hold Rapido to a higher standard because of their obsession to details and find flaws on small details that no other manufacturer would even dream of putting on their model. Yes, the headlight is dimmer than the ditchlights, but it's still brighter than most other manufacturers models. Another very thorough review.

    Very well done review. One question, How does Metra use the Gyro light? On the model it is setup like an emergency light. But I thought gyro lights are like ditch lights.

      Same issue with mines. When you hit F12 it stops the engine and keep it stopped until you press F12

    Jeez man, review started fine, but had to shut it off because it turned into a complaint, nit picky type review. Good production, hate you ruined it with all the unnecessary complaints.

      He has right to critique the model how he wants, not every ready to run mass produced model is perfect out of the box. At least he isn’t as nit picky as others…

      @@CentralJerseyRailfan I never said he doesn't the the right to say/critique what and how he wants...where did you get that idea? Moreover, we all have the same right...just as you exercised yours AFTER I exercised mine. NO model is perfect per-say , perfection is subjective to each individual.

      For a model of this price i think he has every right to be nit-picky especially since its rapido

      @@mrsurfliner149 what is with you people saying he has the "right"? No one ever said he doesn't have the "right". We all have the "right" to say what we want. is this not the USA?

      @@budkole While perfection is subjective, what you probably aren’t getting is that he can review a model while pointing out discrepancies that some modelers might take interest in noting. Not everyone’s gonna care but some might…all you’re doing is being an entitled keyboard warrior

    Your metra consist is completely wrong metra retired there Pullman cab cars years ago.

    • @SideTrackX
      @SideTrackX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately no major manufacturer makes the modern stainless steel cars. The only option for those cars is older resin kits, or brass CB&Q which run for several hundred dollars a piece. They still use the older Pullman cars but it’s generally less than 1 on average per train. I really want to build a few using 3D printing but it’s not on the workbench yet.

      @@SideTrackX Hoping someone will do a proper HO scale version even if it’s Kato. They already have them in N scale, interestingly enough

      @@SideTrackX Walthers and another manufacturer produced the bud cars back in the 90's. I'm still hoping a re-release from Walthers with their stainless steel finish. Also, just announce Atlas is doing the Japanese built cars. As far as I know Metra still runs allot of the Bud stainless steal cars even showing their MILW and CB&Q heritage.
