    Great video. As a long time commuter on Metro North in and out of Grand Central Terminal along the old New York Central and New Haven lines, I really appreciated the history of the Chicago commuter service. The operate their diesels the same way in and out of GCT where service goes beyond the electrified tracks. I used to go to Chicago all the time for work, and really liked the city. Blue Line from O'Hare to the Loop.

    Nice video Matt. The red box on the top 125 is an air conditioning unit.

      Thank you Tim, and thanks for watching. I wasn't 100% sure. I know the prototype #125 has the new style of aid conditioners, the white ones. That must be an older style.

    Great video and backstory. Check out the book "Chicagoland Commuter Railroads" by Patrick C.Dorin and Andrew T.Roth which covers the railroads that lead up to Metra. I have the Railking Scale version #100 City of Chicago which covers the Rock Island Line, which is perfect for the Rock Island bi-levels that I have in the red and yellow color scheme. I also have the Metra E8 515 which in a previous life was C&NW 515 . Speaking of "Before Metra " I also have K-Line C&NW E8 set with C&NW aluminum bi-levels which I plan on doing a video of soon. Like you said, I ain't parting with any of these 😁.

    • @wcmodelrailroad
      @wcmodelrailroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Steven, I will check out that book you recommended. I know you're a big Metra guy as well from the videos I see on your channel. I have the Metra E8s as well, but will probably do a review on those in the future. I forgot that K-line had aluminum bi-levels which means that Lionel has access to bi-level tooling as well. I guess all they need to do is get that Metra licensing. Looking forward to your review on the C&NW commuters.

    Awsome review video I love the metra due to it being my local commuter rail. I also have a Metra train wich is a K line F40PH with 4 MTH bi level cars wich have the blue stripes. Your very lucky to have two Metra F40PH engins. I also have a CTA.

    I have the same engine in the NJ Transit paint scheme and I love it. For some reason the marker lights won’t work after the first time I used it. Do you know a fix for this?

    • @wcmodelrailroad
      @wcmodelrailroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thank you for watching. So the first thing I would do is reset the engine to the factory default with the remote or DCS App (you will have to add it back after you do that). DCS let's you turn on/off individual lights so this is mostly likely the case. If it's not that then there might be a wiring issue to those lights.

      @@wcmodelrailroad thank you I most likely hit a button by accident I’ll check it out thanks.

    • @wcmodelrailroad
      @wcmodelrailroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mslickstrains If you are familiar with the function key for those lights you could probably find it in the softkey list. However, it might be easier just to do a full reset on it.
