I think for my homebrew Extreme Metal this should do just perfectly fine, it's probably about the same handheld noise as my Behringer XM8500 if not less than it since it's a way cheaper microphone anyways. Only reason I'm looking into this mic though is because my Behringer mic has unfortunately broken, so I think I'll put this one high on the list of what I might actually get.
If you are a mic holding demon...be careful to avoid that rustling sound The SM48 is around the same price...and has VERY good handling noise in comparison
Nice honest review, thank you. BTW the capsule (BTW thank you for un-screwing the grill, its not very often to be seen in videoreviews unfortunately) looks very similar to the one Telefunken M80 uses :D . Any chance to compare its sound?
I'd like to see it against the Behringer 8500 just to get a nice 25$ dollar difference. What i noticed in both 100$ mics is the the sound becomes very mid centered and boomy on the lows and take out the highs alot. Something the v2 does very well without distorting
I can see how sE Electronics probably thought about this, it is just a pity they do not communicate what you get more when buying the more expensive mic.
50 dollar disappointment you can't even hold it thank God you and obscure mic reviewed it otherwise I would have wasted money because sometimes I want to be able to hold my mic
"Handling noise and switches!" lol - said the grouchy, old retired sound engineer! Lol - the next time someone brings this up and you hear a funny sound? -- don't worry! It will just be me! - Rolling around in my grave! Ha ha ha! Cheers! Judson and Buddy! God bless you all! 🙂
Man... I always have had a hate for switches on any mic's esp after years of doing live events, they always get flipped off and I got the blame.... also why not just spend that little bit more and go SM58? as your already going to have to get a clown noise for this mic, and telling people not to handle a mic that looks like it should be hand-held.... yah. Kinda a fail. Also, im she same asshole who disables switches on mic's ... Might want to have a word with your video editor... some gremlins sunk into your footage.
I love microphones. I want to buy them all.
Love the review and perspective on the mic 🎤 👌

Sounds bright. Shame about the handling noise. Probably better than most mics in that price range.
Seriously though.
The plosives were the most frustrating for me though...I hate clown noses

Damn those plosives are outta control
Maybe V7 🎉 thanks for the review
No. I like how it sounds but would return it the next day. Not being able to handhold a handheld mic is the deal breaker
I see no problem. V2 might be a microphone for podcasts, which are not meant to be handheld 😅
Nice review, especially the hand held noise warning. Will stick with my sm57, but boy, they seemed to have gone up a lot, here in europe that is.
There are some great options out there...
Just disappointing.
I was more shocked by the pop filter.
Seemed like an odd thing to cheap out on

Welcome to the 2024 era where you handhold wireless mics and mount the handheld ones.

Gremlins??
