He's a chill guy who maintains his strong personal interests while being useful, helpful, and caring towards any prospective partners. Despite having his own ways, he's willing to genuinely engage with the interests and preferences of others. He's got a good personality and shows a mixture of vulnerability and tough snark, which part of why these pairings are well written. Contrast a character like Cherche or Olivia, who tends to be one dimensional towards some pole or another.

And then the Aatar married (SPOILER) Emm and you have Morgan, Lucina, Brady, and Owain just marry whoever you think is cool enough to be in the royal family. But, you know, I thought lissaXhenry was pretty adorable, too.

Generally I like to think that the Supports all at happen at a time when it would be natural for them to happen (usually around the time the character in question is recruited), but you (the player) are just viewing them later, out of order/irrelevant to where you are in the game's plot.
