Christopher Lloyd's delivery was so huge in making this trilogy work. There is so much techno-babble and time travel rules that Doc Brown is responsible for giving. In the hands of a lesser actor, the movie could have gotten bogged down here (some time travel movies just get too confusing) but due to Lloyd's presence here, we as the audience just go along with what he says and dont really question it: those are just the rules/consequences in this universe.
Excellent point! I'd never thought about it that way before, but you're absolutely right. Many of the actors, especially Christopher Lloyd make the absurdity of everything that happens in these films much more palatable.
@@hobbricks_lego_man I wish I could claim it as my own point lol...................but Bob Gale has specifically talked about this. Especialy going into the sequels, they knew they could write dialogue for Doc Brown and that the audience would just believe it because it was Christopher giving the lines
I really love this trilogy they all work really well if I had to score them I'd go: Back To The Future 10/10 Back to the Future 2 9/10 Back To The Future 3 9.5/10
Out of all three Back to the Future movies, the original is the only one I still watch because the year 2015 is done now, but I certainly wouldn’t want to forget the sequels because if it hadn’t been for them, I wouldn’t have thought to turn a foreshadowed date into a party or decided that the original Back to the Future would be my favorite movie after that!
One line that I didn't notice at first but was pointed out to me later was near the beginning of the first film when Strickland is haranguing Marty about him auditioning for the school dance by saying, "No McFly ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley!", to which Marty replies, "Oh yeah? Well, history is gonna change," and indeed it does.
There will always be competition, man. Don't try to one-up Spielberg, but instead use your own specialties and knowledge on how a movie should be made to make something just as good as Spielberg's, just with your own little touch on it. I'd recommend going to film school and learning the different ways a movie can be made, whether it be the camera work, the acting, the sets, or anything like that and use it all to tell a great story that is both masterful and entertaining. :3
Great video. If I had to choose which film, it would have to be the first. Simply because of Marty having to "learn" about time travel. By the 3rd film, he already knows everything he needs. All the films are great though in their own way and could stand alone as its own movie without having to see the other two. This is not always the case with trilogies which is why this is one of the best ever made.
I agree with this video, however, I disagree with your point about Captain America at the 10:50 mark. Avengers Endgame ignited my interest in the MCU, so naturally, I went back and re-watched all the movies. Steve is living in the past, but not in the way you think. He is a soldier through and through and there’s a very great scene from the first Avengers film where Tony and Steve are face to face and Steve tells Tony that (I’m paraphrasing) he would never put the call of duty before himself and Tony rebuttals by telling Steve that he can’t do anything other than answer the call of duty, and that he takes no time for himself. This is evidenced in the films that Tony is lax about most things and Steve is never not serious about anything. And as Endgame finishes, we know that Tony DOES put the call of duty before himself by sacrificing himself to destroy Thanos and Steve finally decides to RELAX by living out his life in the 20th century.
I can understand some of his points, but yes, I also don’t agree with him on it contradicting his arc because of the reasons you listed down because in the present he might end up feeling lonely and missing Peggy and he did enough for the world for him to retire and pass the mantle.
First one works as a perfect standalone. Sequels were never planned. 2 and 3 are basically the same movie in two parts. They were made at the same time. So you see in 2 the set ups of things that happen in 3.
Without making it to this point in the video, yet, I honestly couldn't help thinking about how the term applies to a literal gun in the 3rd one. Love it when that happens lol
I love all these movies. The first is obviously the best, but the sequels get too much flak. This trilogy has plenty of flaws, but the overall story, characters and music make this trilogy so great.
Over the years I realize this is superior to the Star Wars OT in my opinion and I don’t say that lightly. Maybe it’s because I experienced them in real time but I think it’s more than that
Agreed. I think the BTTF trilogy is more consistent in quality than the Star Wars OT, that may be due to it being a single director’s vision as opposed to 3 in the case of Star Wars - it could also be because ROTJ is the weakest in the OT, while BTTF 1 & 3 are the strongest of that trilogy (in my opinion), whereas Empire Strikes Back is arguably the best Star Wars film. A strong beginning and end usually results in a more cohesive picture overall, but maybe that’s just me.
Haha come to think of it, Biff from part 2 and Donald Trump do have quite a bit in common. Looks, and the willingness to let the world burn down around them for their own personal gain.
Honestly, the world didn't burn so much when he was President. And you have to be really delusional to think Trump gained anything from running and becoming President. His image is forever ruined because of constant negative media coverage, he lost a lot of money as an extension of that, and he's still in court on partisan charges.
Yeah didn’t you know that Donald Trump was a time traveler? He saw in the future how the political insiders destroyed the country so he stole a DeLorean went back in time to get enough money to run for president to stop them but in the end he underestimated the power of the political insiders and their control over the media. So now we are all screwed anyway. 😂

He really does feel like a real “mad” scientist

Back To The Future 10/10
Back to the Future 2 9/10
Back To The Future 3 9.5/10
That’s a very solid group of ratings! I’d probably say the 1st and 3rd would both be a 10/10 for me and the 2nd would be a 9/5/10
Back to the future is my favorite movie ever made!
Do you have any observations about it that I might not have mentioned?

Believe it or not, I actually didn’t notice that until you mentioned it.
I still have no idea why Alan Silvestri didn’t win the Oscar for at least the first movie. His score is just so joyful and makes you feel good inside.
Couldn’t agree more!
Loved it when I first saw it as a teenager and the 2 sequels all clicked perfectly with the 1 one. Can’t find a better trilogy
My favorite trilogy that *stayed* a trilogy.
Why is this so true though 😭
Mine too
Still one of the best trilogies of all time.
And as someone who wants to be a director, it annoys me how this is my competition.

Want to have a good weekend? Watch part 1 on a Friday night, part 2 on Saturday morning and Part 3 on a Sunday afternoon.

I felt nostalgia, excitement, joy, and emotional, and also felt tense whatever happened to the characters

I actually have never seen any of them. But ive heard great things
The first one is on Netflix, you should give it a watch!
Switch your vpn to japan and you can watch it all. Do it. Literally one of the greatest and most cknsistent movie trilogies of all time.
Wow that’s crazy
It's planned, it's clever, and Doc is endearing. It isn't perfect - I think Part 2 tried too hard. But I still like them overall.

I just love seeing their friendship :)
Same! One of the most authentic onscreen friendships in my opinion.
The term you're looking for when talking about setup and payoff is "Chekhov's gun".
Ah yes, thank you!

Nothing will ever come close to these films. This trilogy is peak fiction.

Yeah they are 🔥🔥🔥
You've done gods' work by inventing the term "Remakewel."

The hell Captain America didn't ruin his character arc wrong there
Why
The film itself is like a play.
i have full set
Avengers Endgame used time travel greatly and it wasn't just a plot device wrong there
