Thank you! I'm loving this project so far, it's great to be able to change direction and switch up the style & plan as I go... Plus minis are just so great to work on (as long as youre handy with the welder!) Cheers!
@@JohnnyGetsCash it catches everyone out mate. The tabs on the floor were used on the production line to move the bodys and people mistake them for jacking points. There is a jacking point in the middle of the sill if its not had oversills in it. There's a great video on TH-cam my mate did Cole at classic mini diy. It explains the jacking points and will probably be useful to you if your new. Look forward to watching the progress mate
@@classicminidetails8887 thanks very much. Bit of piste, but would you happen to know of a rollover jig for sale?! The underside of this car needs sorting and this is my latest stumbling block!
I can't swear to the offset specs right now but thousands of people run 13x7 deep dish wheels on a mini so I can't image it'll be too drastically outside of tolerance, but regardless wheel bearings are a quick and easy job on the mini so I won't sweat it!
I am fitting a 1275 with a manual box yes. I will however be using this original subframe as it is in such solid condition. Naturally I will be using subframe adapters to accommodate the new set up 👍
I have the same wheels but I tubbed the rear arches so I can get it extra low without the rubber catching the outer rim of the wheel arch. Something you may want to consider if the wheels are going to stick out and you want a super low look. Otherwise, any weight in the back and the wheels will catch and you will be constantly adjusting the Hi los
The wheels fitted properly but do they Turn in well without touching the carbody? No one could Tell me if there is a need to cut out the Body if you want to fit 13 wheels and new arches. Or is it just wanted when you also go lower? Thanks
As i understand it, when the car is lowered, i will need to cut the wings to allow clearance when turning. This wont matter though as the sportpack arches will cover the cut.
What engine are you planning on mounting in there or will it just be building on top of the original engine? Love the workshop, looks great! Wish I could have one😂
Engine-wise things are still up in the air whilst i work on the shell but at the moment i'm favouring using the stage 2 1275 i've got and going for a fast road spec / resto-mod build. Yeh the workshop is awesome - i'm blessed!
My 92 plate Cooper was on 12s.13s are way better. I'd say ride and power were the issues. It needed a 6 speed box and a modern engine... That would fit!
I’ll be back onto the mini once the fourtrak is done…although that’s turning into a massive job! Can’t wait to be on the limit in the mini again though!!
Hi just came across your channel if you want to see what 13" X 7 Ultralites look like take a look at my channel, You will have to cut out the steel wing arches as they will not fit or turn left & right without being modified. I hope it will give you some tips. Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for that. I knew the arches would need to be cut to accommodate the 13x17's but I haven't looked into exactly how just yet so I'll definitely check out your videos! I'm sure they'll be a huge help! Cheers!
@@JohnnyGetsCash You may have to go back a little bit to see when i cut & strengthened the wings but i hope it helps in some small way, As i can‘t get the 13" X 7 wheels past a test here in Austria we have a brand new set we can‘t use we ahve had to buy another brand new set of 12" X 5.5 Cheers Dave
Those wheels look absolutely sick! Can't wait to see how this project will turn out.

Just found this channel looks a great project those wheels look great on it👍
Thanks! I'm loving this project, it's great to work on and the shell is remarkably clean!
Those new wheels really look great. You have great taste
Thanks very much!
The wheels are looking awesome - it’s going to be an amazing project! 🤩👊🏻😎
Cheers! Yeh itll be awesome when it's done!
nice work sir
Thanks very much for checking out the project!
Hi mate, just a quick one when you jack the car up use the front subframe. Jacking them up from the floor can bend the floors in.
Thank you! Any tips are useful & welcome at this stage! Cheers

@@classicminidetails8887 yes mate! @johnny_gets_cash!
Won't the drastic change in offset knacker the wheel bearings?

Yooo my uncle wants a civic type r so do you have the one from chop to the top
Drop me a line through my about page and I'll happily send you the details!
R u not changing front subframe ? I take it you'll be using a manual box?

I just hope you dont too many pot holes as the ose wheels are light but very suseptible to deformation from a hard pot hole hit
Probably a fair point but I'm very used to driving low cars with fragile wheels so avoiding pot holes is second nature to me!
