- Knocking out estimates is an extremely important part of running a successful painting business. There isn’t one right way; every company has their own way of conducting estimates. Over the past 15 years or so, I’ve refined my methods. Hopefully you can learn from some of my mistakes so that you don’t have to make them yourself.

Friendly TIP It's the first initial call for me that will determine if this person is a tire kicker. I will asks only a few questions. I then say in my head will this be worth going or will it be a waste time. Time is money! If I do decided to go, I am saying to myself, I am going to sign a contract. My closing ratio on the spot is 80 to 90%. Cheers! The gooseneck guy! Don

I’ve bid hundreds of painting jobs and have been in sales since I was 16. This is great advice
