A simple "Do it Yourself" net that can be made out of any type of cordage or string. This net is awesome as a gill net for fishing, a net for trapping birds and can be used as a makeshift bag to hold items. Make it with para-cord for a net that can be used to hang items in the home. Can also make a net for the kids room to hang stuffed animals out of the way. Thank you for watching and I hope to see you in the woods!

I was trying to make climbing nets for my parrots, people charge upwards of 150 dollars for just a simple net with a couple toys on it. This was the simplest tutorial I found. With 12 parrots of all sizes I need at least 8 different sized nets. You just saved me a lot of money! Plus, it never hurts to have a few survival tricks up your sleeve. Thanks

Thank you for the straightforward demonstration, I appreciate that you were prepared with simple explanations and not too much unrelated filler. As a chatty person myself, I can appreciate a lesson made simple and easy.

Funny you should ask that, I am working on a video now to show how to finish the sides and bottom. Very simple process, just tie in a straight line across the bottom and sides. Should have the video up for you tomorrow! Thanks for watching!

When I was training in the Andes Mt. we stretched a net to catch water from the mist. It was a net that was made of propylene and the holes in the net were about 10mm. I was amazed at the amout of water it pulled out of the air.

I needed a cargo net for the top (inside) of my van and was at Wallyworld to get one. They were all either; too expensive, not the right size or had an over engineered way of attaching them to whatever you were installing them. So I thought, "Hey, I have tons of rope sitting around, maybe I can do one myself." I thought it would be too difficult. Not anymore. I saw two vids on how to tie a net, including yours obviously, and tomorrow I am going to make one. Thanks a lot for the video. Gonna save me some money and learn a new survival skill. Thats always a good thing.

Someone dropped a bunch of leftover yarn on me. (I don't knit.) I used this video to make myself a net from the yarn, turned it, did a bit of braiding, and have an expandable, re-usable bag. Not recommended for much but grocery shopping, but only tutorial that made sense to me. Thanks! Can't wait to try it with actual usable cordage!

Thank you so much for this simple tutorial! I realize that if you are a wilderness person you should carry the netting needles or whatever they call them, but this is so good to know just in case! I needed the instruction for something less survival-esque to be completely honest (decorative net, haha) but, it's good to know that I can do this if I was ever in a situation that called for it. Thanks again!

That's a great video on a very useful part of any survival kit. Any time you can have redundant means to put food on the fire in a survival situation is well...what can I say.
I haven't seen one explained in such easy terms, but now, I can make one net for each of my kits. Thanks.
?? Does this technique work for a hammock as well?
    Keep on keepin on. Mac

You brilliant man! Thank you so much for this we are trying to catch a ferral dog and using a trap which has a draw string mechanism, we cant use meat as the bait so have to put wet food in something with the idea that she will tug on the net which contains the food and then release the door catch. Im going to use really strong nylon chord as the plastic netting we have been using she is just chewing through. If we catch her I will let you know!

in a survival situation, just keeping busy, working on things to better your situation will have a calming effect, and bolster your confidence. They say survival is 90% mental anyway. If you made a net, actually caught some fish in it and had a good meal, you would feel so much better (physically, mentally, and emotionally), your odds of survival would increase exponentially. Thanks for showing us how to make a net. It is really quite easy, if you know how to do it.
