  • In this video, we delve into the topic of the biblical Hittites and their actual identity. Contrary to popular belief, the biblical Hittites were not the same as the Bronze Age Hittite Empire (the Late Bronze Age empire at home in modern Turkey and Syria), but instead refers to the Syro-Hittite states of the Iron Age. Today we explore the terms used for biblical Hittites and who the terms may refer to, shedding light on the common misconception they were the Bronze Age Hittites. We'll examine the relationship the Syro-Hittites had with the Bronze Age Hittites as shown in ancient texts and artifacts that show these are the people we should identify as the biblical Hittites. Let’s dig in.

Excellent exploration of B'nai Heth, Hetiim and the archchaeological and lingusitic evidence that they could have been an ethnic or kinship group residing in Canaan at the time of the Patriarchs/Matriarchs or Syro-Hittites who migrated there at one point but prrobably not the descendants of the Hittites of Anatolia.

This was great thank you! I'd be interested in learning more about the temple which inspired the design for Solomon. Also I'd be interested in hearing more explanations for what made Solomon wealthy.

@robertolang9684hitites were Caucasians Indo-Europeans Anatolians hatti. Were not same people as the hitite just that the Hittites invaded they land and assimilated them into they culture..
its would seems the Hittites were a bunch of nomads barbarians even a part of the Moors Arabs origin clans. Originally originated ancient times inhabitants of Turkey regions. 🇹🇷 Islamic Mid-East tribes. If recall correct they had red haired. And worship baal marduk.
this is of documented information online, which I hold no claims to..

the hittite religion was syncretized with aramo-syrian-canaanite religion at ugarit, a religion which differed from tel to tel.

As far as I have learned, the origin of those who became the Hittites in Hatti is unknown.
How, then, are the biblical Hittites eliminated as a possible origin?

The Hittites of Hatti in Anatolia came before Moses is supposed to have lived. How could the Biblical tribe of Heth in Caanan centuries later possibly be related? I mean, it's not impossible, but the only evidence you have is a name constisting of two hebrew letters, that kind of sounds like "Hatti". They're too far apart, and I've yet to see any Luwian inscriptions from the Neo-Hittites where they refer to their country as Hatti. As far as I can tell, "Neo-Hittites" is just what scholars chose to call them because they took the names of earlier Hittite kings and wrote in Luwian, pretty much.
