Thank you for the mention!!! The girls loved their kaftan/dusters and they are very easy to make for others.. over estimate size rather than under.. they are fine big and floaty! I’ve also made the headband.. one for me from that fabric and one in a sport fabric for me and a friend for running in hot days!! Gray vlog thanks Hayley! Xx

Merchant and mills have a super cute beginner carrier bag pattern on the fold line. It's perfect for anyone who has ever lost a 4 pint of milk or bottle of wine in the middle of the street because a plastic bag handle snapped. .

Oh I'm not sure which would make me cry more, the milk or wine! either way, yes a fabric carrier bag is a great idea!

I’ve been making “gift bags” cinched with ribbon for waste free wrapping as gifts. The bags vary in size, say a couple of book size bags and either a bottle bag or a smaller bag. Waste free is a big thing in my family. The “wrapping” gets returned to you after the present is unwrapped. I’ve also been making some pattern weights for sewing friends

I noticed that Core fabrics( sister to closet core) have a free tote bag pattern which looks interesting and easy to make. They’ve just released a free knit dress too.

Great ideas, I love making bags too but haven't done so as gifts so thanks for that. My go to quick sews for gifts are zipped pouches or fabric storage baskets, both can be easily adapted in size and materials for a variety of uses and recipients!

What a great selection. Head warmers brilliant. Just put the dog's woolly collars on for the first time this year. Could make warm collars for them. Lots of lovely ideas. Thank you 🎉

Enjoyed this. I just finished my Christmas gifts for all the ladies (8) in my family. They are getting scarves and extra large hot pads. Thanks for recommending "the fold line". I have never heard of them, and I am looking forward to browsing their site.

Making pyjamas costs more to make than to purchase. An important consideration if you are watching your outgoings.

Definitely something to consider - perhaps a tote bag or the head warmer might be a lovely alternative if you want to gift something handmade
