    Superb as always Sir John! Nice demonstration of the speed range in this video. Last time out seemed gustier on the big hill and you kept the speed up then. I like the way you "waggle" the rudder to maintain position at times. Clever and effective.

    Dear John, how does this micro compare in terms of pure fun with the micro Lazy Bee you did earlier?

    • @SlopeRCGliders
      @SlopeRCGliders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Bird of Time is probably a more efficient glider. You need a good bit of lift to get the Bee flying well. Both are fun gliders but bigger gliders always fly better.

    • @elmar2B
      @elmar2B 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SlopeRCGliders About size. It seems most small (slope) gliders are either well in the micro range (80-130grams), well the "normal" gliders are easily >350 grams. Are there any nice birds just below the new 250grams rule? Just wondering about how big you can fly without running into rules, permits and restrictions....

    • @SlopeRCGliders
      @SlopeRCGliders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@elmar2B I have a couple of really good light wind fliers that are sub 250g.
      My CLM pro Trotter is 1.5 meter span but still just under 250g. I also built a West Wing Amethyst which is well under the limit, but flies like a much bigger plane.

  • @K3Flyguy

    2:47 my favorite flight perspective, dual pirouettes! John this BOT seems a bit twitchy, would that be due to lightness of airframe, wind conditions or that you are slope flying a thermal purpose airframe? I have flown full sized BOT and she's gentle and flies " on the rails". Not criticizing your video in anyway, I'm just naturally courious all things sailplane oriented. Well done John, thanks for sharing!

    • @SlopeRCGliders
      @SlopeRCGliders  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigger always flies better. A small light model will get bumped around a lot more more and is less efficient.
