Your beautiful video triggered an emotional moment for me. I have a special interest, attraction, fastenation with Mr, Thornburgs BOT, I helped my best buddy "trick out" his BOT many years ago with on the fly movable CG, on the fly adjustable wing angle of attack, adjustable tow hook!! These were all Dave's ideas that he wrote about in his best seller " Old Buzzards Soaring Book. My buddy ran into Dave at a meet and showed him the completed upgrades he had written about. They had quite a lengthy discussion about BOT. Dave was given the opportunity to pilot his dream ship by high start launch. He noted that he felt the options did exactly what and effected the way he thought they would! Dave said he never actually thought someone would go to the effort to make all the mods as he described! My buddy and Dave occasionally exchanged ideas and thoughts for a few years after that. My buddy passed a few years later. His son' destroyed the BOT a few months later in an unskilled, futile attempt to fly it alone without the piloting experience needed. Thanks for sharing your BOT video and helping me relive a few moments of an almost past life of mine! Perfect flying, perfect music, perfect video! Thank you again Sir! I will now likely try to find a mini BOT !!!
Hi John, Mama and baby BOT. They look great no matter the size. Such an elegant flight. Shame your brother wasn't there to do some tandem flying. As always Katherine is great with the camera. You both stay safe.
Hi John, Reminds me of my Meanderer from years ago. It developed a cobra head with an altimeter - and finally had a grown up fuselage with Duramites and a 35mm camera - and a pylon, initially with an ED 0.46cc and then for the heavier version a PAW 1.5. Happy times.
Graceful elegance. It was interesting to watch the "economy" of your inputs on the controls in such low lift conditions (minimizing drag). The mark of a real pro.
I have a BOT and have had it for some years. I have to use a Hy Start in my section of Georgia US. Thought about trying some slop flying along the beaches. Enjoyed the video. Take care and stay well.
Ahhhh ...... my favourite glider design of all time, I can even forgive the original for having a solid rudder, but something looks this good and flies that well, allowances can be made.
The lift is always pretty constant so it definitely inspires confidence. It’s deceptive in the videos, but it surprising how far the slope goes. Even when it looks like I’m flying out over the ocean, the glider is quite often still over land.

Wonderful colour schemes.

Beautiful...just beautiful

It's a bird!Superb!Congrats and cheers !
A BoT of any size is beautiful in the air.
What can one say John. Bird of Time, THAT TIME IS NOW!!!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏❤❤thanks Mr and Mrs W,, best wishes from Alan in South Yorkshire,
Light winds make it look even better.

The less you control them, the better they fly ... Remember !👍

Also Bot has to be one of my favourite gliders 👏👏🤗🤗❤
Superb John, thank you for the inspiring upload
Wow, simply majestic!

Really nice video.
Very nice flight...!
Perfect in every way! Oh how I miss the Beacon.
Sheer grace, Sir John. Brilliantly filmed as well.
Thank you.
Poetry in motion.
What a beauty i like it.
Wonderful plan
Must have been very light winds. At 1:07, seagulls were passing by in the background having to flap their wings.
So good !
Nice, from the thumb nail I thought you was going to be flying both Bots .
There is a video of the small one flying elsewhere on my channel
Stunning! I did wonder how close you came to clonking the Videographer-in-Chief on the head? That would surely mean no dinner tonight! :o)
I’d certainly be in trouble!
Two questions: 1) have you ever lost a plane to the rocks below? 2) Is there a constant lift, so there’s no danger of it getting too far out?
The lift is always pretty constant so it definitely inspires confidence. It’s deceptive in the videos, but it surprising how far the slope goes. Even when it looks like I’m flying out over the ocean, the glider is quite often still over land.
Beautiful as always. What’s the yellow you used on this one? Is it the safety yellow from Ultracote? Thanks!
It’s just the cheap unbranded covering from Hobbyking. Their yellow is nice and bright.
@@SlopeRCGliders thank you! I’ll try to order some.
Krásné 👌
Belo voo John, eu gostaria de lhe fazer um pedido, quero ver um vídeo seu da construção até o voo.
