So I heard from someone this was their least favorite Phantom because he was acting weird? The only thing I find funny is how this Phantom is shorter than Christine. It's adorable! And this is the first time I've heard this in a different language! (can't believe it took me this long to watch a different language.)
Kroger's performance didn't do that for me. However, that being said, he is the only Phantom I've seen that nails this scene. Every inflection, every movement, pure genius. Barona in this scene was a little too composed, and Samuelson was a little too aggressive. Kroger was just the right combination of both. Especially cuz this is a side of the Phantom that is often overlooked, with the "sexy" part being overemphasized *cough cough* Gerard Butler. But anyway, yes, Kroger is freaking amazing
Yikes! Seeing Erik grope Christine like that was quite shocking and rather frightening! It makes Erik seem far more sick and twisted and less sympathetic. I know that Erik has gone mad by the end of the story, but it makes it harder for me to feel for his character when he groped Christine like that. As much much as I love POTO, some actors take it a little too far (in my own opinion anyways). I was kinda glad to see Christine trying to undo the noose from around Raoul's neck. Even though I'm an E/C shipper, I always found it frustrating that Christine never ran to Raoul and tried to free him in other adaptions of this story. So it was refreshing to see it happen here; makes her look as if she truly cares about her fiancé for once! xD However, I didn't like seeing Erik feel up Christine earlier, I'm still glad that I watched this video. I like to hear what the POTO songs sound like in other languages; quite interesting! Thanks for uploading it!
@TheToffer1987 That's why I love his interpretation of the Phantom so much :) Here, in the lair, Phantom's mask slips down and we see him as he really is: scared, pathetic creature,so hungry of love, yet still deadly dangerous.
Uwe's about average height 5'10 to 5'11 and even prefers to be in heeled shoes on stage due to his leading man persona, so the actress of Christine is probably about 5'9-5'10 with 2 inch heels
I'm mixed feelings with Uwe's Phantom. I loved him as Death in Elisabeth and he was exquisite there, and here he has scars and all and idk but he does the crazed phantom so well oh my god
Ignoring the groping incident entirely, he’s still not my favourite phantom, he doesn’t really act, he announces it to the audience and does it, if that makes sense.
Agreed. Personally, I liked Juan Carlos Barona and Mikeal Samuelson's (the Spanish and Swedish Phantoms) performances as the "sexy/alluring opera ghost" better than anyone else's. The main reason is because, while they are good looking guys in person, they don't rely on that at all to bring that aspect of the Phantom to life. It's almost all done with their voices. Which is the ONLY part of the Phantom that is supposed to be sexy. Everything else...not so much.
@jimsed1964 Afret all nobody said Phantom was big, or physically imposing. Scary Opera Ghost was more of a theatrical trick by erik, than anything else. This little, scared and very vulnerable figure, as played by Uwe, is as you said more believable :)

This Christine is really tall. Most Christines are shorter than Erik or Raoul even with the heel on.
