The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Oh, I didn't know that those things in apocrypha were actually human once... now we finally know where all the 400iq Rick & Morty fans ascend to in the afterlife though.

Azura sounds nice. If I'm in Tamriel, my main goal would basically be to obtain the most comfortable afterlife I can. It's where I'll be spending the vast majority of my time in the long run, after all. And to top it all off, she's probably the least likely of the Daedra to ask you to hurt people or put yourself in danger. All she really wants is praise and adoration.
I'd be torn between Azura and Meridia, myself. I guess it's simply a matter of whether I was just an ordinary civilian or an adventurer.

@@haeilsey Actually, by what i understood, the dunmer just end up staying in the family tombs and their bones are left in the ash of the tombs along with their spirits. The dunmer also have a chance to go to some other afterlife.
Tho this still doesn't explain where people who worship multiple daedra go and why Azura, Mephala or Boethia don't just take the dunmer's souls.

Atomic Owl Mirrak an the player are both Dragonborn, I’d say they are exceptions. That being said Mirraks obsession with power an ultimate goals could be a result of psychological damage from dwelling in HM’s library too long.

Malacath. He expects much from his worshippers, he demands strength, but as someone who has always felt like an outcast, he'd be the one i'd turn to. He's a stern father figure, encouraging hard work and rewarding it. Plus he genuinely seems to care about his children, and wants them to excel.
The talking dog that ended up being a Daedric princes pet was hands down my favourite and most memorable Daedric quest in Skyrim.

for me it can only be hircine: he's not evil, he has an amazing code of honor, his blessing is mostly voluntary and gives nothing but boons, and finally he rewards his faithful hunters to an eternal bliss in his hunting grounds. Basically, he's the prince that will make a man out of you.

Pretty much every Skyrim playthrough I do I always end up happily giving my services/worship to Hermaeus Mora. Such a cool Daedra to have on their good side, plus Lovecraftian stuff is always interesting
Nah, Wintersun mod, Jygallag main here. In lore, Jygallag has the perfect formula for predicting present event outcomes, and future events as well as knowledge of all past events. Hermaeus Mora does not truly have all knowledge, and can only acquire it from others as seen from him having to trick the Skaal into giving them their secrets. Jygallag however, while still not having all knowledge as there is ALWAYS more to learn, (thus is the folly of Herma Mora) he has the perfect formula and cold hard logic that he can use to learn whatever he wishes and before he was cursed into being Sheogorath, he had it all in a neat library in perfect alphabetical order. In theory, if a mortal were to somehow get Jygallag to concern himself with them, this knowledge which he of course knows by perfect photographic memory (and perhaps even the formula if the mortal mind can handle it) could be shared...
That, and his Black Books are super powerful. Especially if you get all 7

If I lived in Tamriel, I would probably worship the Daedra. They at least pay attention.

The daedra seek pleasure into misleading, deceiving and manipulating people and eventually watching you die. They have no part in your existence and do not care if you have no future.
Only Azura and Meridia create a sense of care and love for Man but that is just like Paarthunax suppressing it's destructive nature.

As much as I like Azura, Malacath, and Peryite, I am forever drawn to Mora. The amount of knowledge and secrets that can be found is most alluring to me.
Meridia and Azura are probably the only two daedra who wont inherently screw you over. Even their realms are habitable by mortals.
Hircine won’t inherently screw you over, either. He’s actually extremely chill, for a Daedra. If you directly disobey Azura or Meridia, you’re likely to piss them off, and have them curse you somehow. Hircine, when you directly disobey him in Skyrim (and indeed, do the opposite of what he asked), is just amused and actually impressed, and gives you his blessing anyway. He’s also extremely honorable, always giving the prey at least an obscure opportunity to escape the hunt, and actually rewards those that do.
Also, Hircine is also extremely polite, especially for a Daedric Prince. In Skyrim, he greets you with “Well met, hunter”, which is not only a polite greeting, but by addressing you as “hunter” and not something like “mortal”, is actually extremely respectful, acknowledging the person as something of an equal. That, and Hircine seems to actually care about his followers.
Malacath is good to his followers
@@AlphaWolf096 Hircine will never screw you over, and most of the time won't even actively seek to harm you if you don't meet his expectations. He will drop you quick if you fail him though. The wyresses in Bangkorai sacrificed one of their own to summon him, but because they were not strong enough to defeat the Reachmen, he would not even speak to them, choosing to address the Vestige directly instead.
All things considered, Hircine is my favorite.

Worship Azura, as she is the most demanding, and her bountiful favor is reserved mainly her follows, barter with Nocturn, as she, gets along O.K.ish with Azura, respects skill and gaul, but not blind faith, and while plentiful her gift(s) tend towards the subtle, and fickle, aid the followers of Meridia, and Malicath, for they've been know to return favors given, even by non-worshipers, in kind

If I were to be a devote follower of a Daedric Prince, it would be Hermaeus Mora (this provided I have the power to traverse his realm without much trouble), as writing, lore, storytelling, and mythology has been a passion and hobby of mine for a long time. What's good about Mora's realm is that, when taking the nigh-infinite amount of knowledge at your disposal, spending an eternity in Apocrypha hardly sounds boring or stale, as it is ever-changing and never constant with there always being something new to read and learn about. I would also entertain the possibility of socializing with the many ghosts that inhabit the realm, each one with their own unique experiences and perspectives. Compare this with other realms, which are either endless revelry or suffering, Apocrypha just sounds like a far better place to go when you die.
Hircine, Azura, and Meridia are my top 3 if I had to throw my lot in with a single Prince, it would have to be Hircine.

I would worship: Azura, Hircine, Malacath, Meridia, Vaermina, Herma Mora, Sheogorath and Nocturnal.
Nocturnal has to be one of my personal favorites, because she's not a brute like most of the others. She's quiet, and she thinks about outcomes. She's very interesting and I would definitely worship her if I was in the Elder Scrolls universe.
In this universe I would recommend worshiping Jesus Christ

Worshipping Hermaeus Mora is not a choice. For me at least, it is a fact of life. I am a seeker of knowledge, and as such, I am his servant wether I like it or not.
I think at one point or another Everyone is in Hermaeus Mora's slimy grip. I mean hell, even as simple as 'when is my milk gonna expire?' you're looking for knowledge, and you find the answer.

I’ve always been partial to Sheo. This is more my character’s belief than my own, but knowing that Sheo once determined every single event, that means that he potentially let a little chaos come into my character’s life when allowing them to escape from Helgen. Sheo is batshit insane, yes, and is jovial only when he wants to seem so, but in the same way so am I, living to please others only when it suits me. I stick by Sheo.

My favourite daedra is Hircine, but Malacath would probably be my second choice, followed by Lord Sheogorath

My favorites have to be Nocturnal, Malacath, Mehrunes Dagon, Sanguine and Sheogorath.
Nocturnal is like a caring mother who wants you to unlock new potential within yourself
Malacath is like a caring father who accepts you for who you are and helps you protect yourself
Mehrunes Dagon is also the Prince of hope, when you feel like nothing will ever change, he assures you otherwise
Sanguine reminds you that it is good to allow yourself to give in to your wants and take a break
Sheogorath is like that one enabler friend, he will help you go for a crazy idea you would normally hesitate to follow through and go along with you

Hircine honestly seems like the nicest. Not really “cruel” any more than an animal can be, and doesn’t bother with “slights” or “deceptions” like other nice-er Daedra like Azura. And speaking of Azura - she really could lock down an Aedra-level popularity of worship if she didn’t make herself so finnicky and inscrutable. She’s in like three different pantheons with radically different moodswings in each.
One of my characters I role play as in ESO is a follower of Meredia and often entertains Hermeus Mora. As you could guess, a Mage with very little respect for the Aedric Divines.

My knowledge seeker is a DEVOUT follower of Mora.
I feel like the more benevolent facets of Sheogorath are often overlooked. He's also a patron to artists, giving people a new outlook compared to the cold, linear logic of his counterpart. The blessings of Sheogorath is one of my favorite books in Oblivion. Despite his capricious nature there's a good reason why he's so beloved in the Isles.

This is my experience with daedra:
Nocturnal showed me my true self.
Azura showed me what I should know and want to protect me.
Sheogorath, Merunes Dagon and Molag Bal made a bet about me.
Molag Bal wanted to break me with pain and I don't know what more.
Merunes Dagon wanted to trick me.
But Sheogorath, Sheogorath is different. He never wanted to break or trick me. He was allways there for me, even if I did not know. He want's me to be myself. He loves me the way that I am. He would allways understand and support me. He makes no presure.
I love Sheogorath the way he is and I would not change him a bit.
I recommend to worship him, but it is all a matter of personal decisions.
Be yourself and deside your own personal decisions.
Sheogorath doesn't need to trick you, since you're already fooling yourself. The dude made a guitar out of the guts of a woman who gave him the idea. He's no one's friend.

The little secret that you have to know first is, that the foundation of western religion is demon worship. In pagan times the term demon (daimon) referred to all metaphysical beings, from the mighty deus pater down to the simple spirit. These being were not viewed as evil or good, but strange and distant (quite like the Daedra).
Angels were a subcategory of deamons. Their name (angelus) means "massenger". As such, they were the ones communicating with mortals.
Devils on the other hand are a result of the apokryph legends following the Revelation of John. In the story of Lucifer (not mentioned in the Bibel) and the revolt in haven (not mentioned in the Bibel) they are the angels that joined the uprising against god and were dammed to hell.
And Satan,...his job is to tempt the faithfull. So that God knows it thier belive is for real (further reading: Book of Job, The Gospels(Matthew 4:1-11, Mark 1:12-13, and Luke 4:1-13)).

My favorite is Clavicus Vile, to me he is arguably either the strongest Daedric Prince or seconded to Sheogorath. The description of his realm in "The Lord of Souls" and "The Infernal City" novels fascinated me and it is within these novels we can get a good idea of his power. And Barbas is a plus.
