Fuck, this was the best worst episode to watch. Seeing how he changed from a happy-go-lucky globetrotter to an empty shell of a person like his mother was just heartbreaking…

If you put in the effort to install a safety bar and then the user jumps over it and dies that’s not your fault (unless you built it blocking the exit or expect lots of children or if it’s easy to accidentally go over). If you don’t put any effort to prevent their death it’s one thing, but if they go out of their way to endanger themselves then it’s not your responsibility anymore. This guy knew the risks and turned the phone back on
i also like to think that in those 0.04 seconds that he died when the phone rang, he predicted it in his nightmare simulation, just like how sometimes when you’re half asleep, you can predict someone turning the light switch on or hearing and seeing something in your dream a second before it actually happens irl

Got home and spent 7 hours trying to sleep thinking im going to war and seeing my brothers die horrifically like at omaha beach. Now i have semi-ptsd from it. Felt like i really lived through having people slaughtered around me, just like veterans from ww1 and ww2. Makes me feel really sad about what they went through. It was fu****** traumatising dude. Can't even explain. I understand now that Shell shock is a serious condition and no joke.

I kept thinking "Wow is this what we did to our grandparents?". Though it wore off with the trip. I believe you can inert this effect of yours with a really kick ass fun and laid back trip with plenty of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks with a trusted group of friends and a safe environment. I've never unravelled but I've seen it happen, took me a couple trips to learn all you gotta do is hand them a prop instead of yelling shut up at them, hahaha.

You have to understand that black mirror just don't do random episodes out of their asses, We all go through problems and often ignore them and we say "Its okay I just dont think about it and it goes away" the longer we go without solving our problems the harder it would be to overcome them, you need to go through the pain and embrace it and come to an acceptance/peace with it, always remember this.. "if you happen to have an emptional reaction to a memory you havent gotten over it" even if you say you did. The infinite void is real and this explains it, he had a trip into his mind that was too much to handle, He is a happy going guy for a reason, usually they have the most traumas and dead inside. If this episode hit you hard try to think about why it did and constantly keep asking yourself why until you get to the real problem, you may have a panic attack, but trust me, once you you go through it you will find peace after it. The main lesson I got from this is always follow safety precautions especially when you are testing a new technology that messes with your head. Those safety precautions are there for a reason.
