Anderson is in his prime now! His front kick KO against Belfort was one of the best knockouts I've ever seen. That was like what like early last year? Then the destruction of Chael Sonnen with only a few strikes this year... he's amazing, he doesn't feel the age. But I think it's skills over physical attributes here as Silva overcomes his physical disadvantages with incredible ground game and incredible striking and counter striking.

I totally agree with you, the middleweight roster is a lot bigger than the light heavyweight roster and look at all the fighters that came through this seasons TUF. I think the problem lies with Anderson getting close to retirement. I know he seems invincible and for his age he is an incredible fighter but he can't go on forever and he is not a frequent fighter due to so many people negotiating for a shot at him.

You sir/madam are 100% correct. fighter's body figures are different. fighters fight at an agreed variable which is their weights. No such thing as too big as long they make weight. Being "big" for his size is all part of his skill set. Just as important to the game as knowing how to punch.

Size definitely does matter, but I think we can also agree that it definitely doesn't guarantee you'll win. There are advantages to being bigger and advantages to being smaller. my base styles like many others is BJJ and Muay Thai. I find it a lot harder to submit smaller guys, I've tried putting one of my friends in an armbar but he slips out very easily and because my arms are longer he can put me in one pretty easy. He told me to read about Helio Gracie and said being smaller is an advantage

The thing is I'm in Australia and we use kg and 20 lbs is only 9 kg in Australia which we don't really consider that much of a difference. I think it's not the weight difference that's the problem it's the fact that it's insanely obvious that Silva is a far better fighter in terms of skill than GSP.

Its not only the awesome power and precision of his knockouts,its also the timing.Nobody ever escapes past the second round,as for his all around game he has submitted the likes of Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen,olympic wrestlers.His unlike Fedor's career is not over,Anderson can possibly achieve an undefeated UFC career.Fedor finished at 34-4,Silva is already at 32-4 with a good number of fights still left in him.Anderson Silva is a middleweight but can fight at LHW or push HW.

Very true. They are very close on the feet, except for some minor things. I will give Silva a slight Strike Defense, Counter Strikes and Clinch advantage, and Jones a slight Ground Game and Strike Offense advantage. This is strictly my opinion. I don't see Jones finishing Silva in any way, because of Silva's versatility and defensive proficiency. Although very well-rounded himself, if Jones lost, it would be decision, or TKO if Jones messes up and gets swarmed with strikes like Chael did at 148.
