    ---WHAT’S INCLUDED ON PRINCESS CRUISES----
    0:00 Introduction
----EVERYTHING INCLUDED IN A PRINCESS CRUISES VACATION----
Your cruise fare on Princess covers the cost of your stateroom for the duration of the trip, including daily service by a stateroom attendant.
The type of cabin you choose will be the biggest factor when determining your total cruise costs.
Additionally, guests can enjoy three meals a day included in the standard cruise fare on every Princess Cruises’ ship.
Like most cruise lines, Princess Cruises’ main dining rooms offer a multi-course rotational menu that changes nightly. With Dine My Way, guests have the flexibility to choose when and where they eat each evening of the cruise.
Princess Cruises also offers several more casual dining spots that are also included in your cruise fare. Some of these options include the International Café, Alfredo’s & Gigi’s Pizzerias for the best pizza at sea, grill favorites by the pool, and the World Fresh Marketplace buffet.
Further, there is always something to do on a Princess Cruises’ ship that will not cost anything. These complimentary activities include trivia, demonstrations, dance classes, lectures, and the signature Movies Under the Stars. There is also a gym, sports court, and a kid’s program.
There will also be signature entertainment in the main theater. From headliner acts to Broadway-style productions, you don’t want to miss out on these shows.
Of course, there is live music throughout the ship in the evenings as well as plenty of bars serving up your favorite cocktails. While the music is free, the drinks will cost extra.
Regardless of your interests, there is plenty to do, see, and eat while on your Princess Cruises’ vacation without paying anything extra.
However, there are also several upgraded experiences and add-ons that are not included in the cruise fare.
----WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED ON PRINCESS CRUISES----
Cruise gratuities are services charges that are not included in the standard cruise fare, similar to a hotel resort fee. These additional fees are a per person, per day dollar amount that are charged to all guests across all stateroom categories.
Princess Cruises will transport you to several exciting ports of call. Unfortunately, shore excursions are not part of the cruise fare either.
Further, you will need to purchase an internet package if you want to stay in touch with family and friends, as WiFi is not part of the cruise fare.
While there are many dining venues covered in the cruise fare, Princess Cruises also offers up-charge dining venues. From the signature steakhouse Crown Grill to the Italian trattoria Sabatini’s and the French Bistro Sur La Mer, there are a variety of upscale dining options on Princess ships that will cost you extra money.
As you might expect, alcoholic beverages are not included in the standard Princess cruise fare either. Beverages like specialty coffees, soft drinks, bottled water, and energy drinks are all an additional fee too. If you plan to consume any of these beverages on a regular basis, you should consider purchasing a drink package.
Or, you could upgrade to the Princess Plus or Princess Premier pricing options when booking your cruise. These packages make your cruise more all-inclusive by adding in extra items like a drink package, WiFi, crew gratuities, and more.

@@jw5425 there is a lady on utube that has a review of every cruise her friend and herself take! They purposely take the cheapest cruises out there with the cheapest room. I searched and found it yesterday but cannot remember her channel. The average cost of the cruises they go on including excursions are around 475.00 a person! You might look for “ how to cruise on a budget”.

PCL is one of our top favorite cruise lines, second only to Virgin Cruises. We love the medallion system in combination w/ Ocean Now. It makes everything sooo simple, it’s unbelievable! It needs to be implemented across every single ship in the Carnival company’s overall wheelhouse.
      So to answer your question…
We rarely spend anything extra on the cruise because the goodies you get are so numerous, why pay for more.
      The Drink Package…
My husband and I aren’t big drinkers so there’s never been a need to purchase the drink package. We could never drink the daily allotment. Believe me, we’ve tried. 😅
      The Ship’s Wi-Fi…
The standard ship’s Wi-Fi is the absolute best at sea! It’s like being at home! But, yes there is a but… The Wi-Fi in Alaska is distressing at best. 😅 There were issues the entire 7 day trip. Most folks on board, regardless of the Wi-Fi package they had, suffered with a gambit of different issues. But the thing is, in all honesty, we really didn’t care. We spent so much time taking photos off our balcony and up on deck because there’s just so much beauty to see!
      Specialty Dinning…
We’ve sailed enough so we have cruising perks so we’ve never had to pay for any specialty dining. But I will say this, we if didn’t have any of those perks we’d splurge on them. The food is absolutely wonderful.
That being said, our Alaskan Princess cruise is our absolute favorite cruise that we’ve been on over the years. The wildlife you get to experience without even having to leave the ship, amazing! The peace and tranquility, the landscape, the waters… Oh my gosh, it’s so stunningly beautiful. It’s truly awe inspiring.
The ports of call are so great. Our favorite was Ketchikan, Alaska. We fell in love with the entire town and it’s people. The Totem Bar is a great little hole in the wall bar and it’s fantastic! Everyone was so warm and inviting. The elders of transplant local are absolutely adorable! We’ve gotten the idea in our heads that Ketchikan is where we’re definitely going to retire! Hands down, it’s the absolute best!
For anyone who’s going on their 1st Alaskan cruise, the best way to sail is in a balcony/balcony deluxe room! Port side is the best side. 🥰

You didn’t mention…the international cafe open 24hrs with snacks etc is free BUT the coffee is NOT you have to pay if you want a regular coffee or espresso ..cappuccino ANY coffee there you have to pay
Free coffee is only at buffet and main dining rooms

Great vlog. We love Princess. We prefer not to waste our money on the drinks packages. Basically, you need to have about 5 cocktails per day to break even - why bother! We don't go cruising to get tipsy or drunk. We do buy wifi as it is useful and at $10 per day - so worth it. If we feel like alcohol then we will pay for a drink. Same with a latte' or other decent coffee. Our on board credit allowance will cover those costs.
You can bring a bottle of wine on board to have in your room - that's 3 or 4 cheap drinks.
One tip is to buy a furure cruise credit when on board ($100)- You can use that as your next deposit for a cruise and if you don't use it within 18 mths, you can get it refunded. The benefit of a FCC is that it also is an additional on board credit. Basically, free drink money. We actually buy 2 each at a time to book cruises in advance. very useful.

Thanks to FCC and re booking due to Covid we were able to upgrade to a mini suite, we got free unlimited internet for 10 days, we got free pre paid tips and free premium beverage packages which includes, coffee, soda, shakes, alcohol, etc & free dining for a specialty restaurant:)

We just got back from a California Costal Cruise on Discovery Princess. What a wonderful ship and cruise! We did get the Princess Plus package and I'm glad we did. I loved everything about the cruise--the food, the service, the entertainment. We had a very small balcony room. We will upgrade next time. I loved the Medallion being able to open doors, find your ship mates, and order food and drinks. I did not care for the port of Ensenada. It was an extremely dirty port/border city, where children ran the streets selling their trinkets and junk. Our guide, however, was very good. I participated in Zumba, line dancing, trivia, and some of the game shows. While I was dancing, my husband went to the gym or walked the track. We put on 8,000 to 14,000 steps a day. We had a ball and are looking forward to our next cruise, hopefully next year.

    • @cindyzippi4790
      @cindyzippi4790 ปีที่แล้ว +2

We had Ensenada as a port as well and it was disgusting. There was a horrible smell as soon as we stepped off the ship. I wish Princess would find another port that passengers would enjoy.

This was a very thorough review/explanation of what is/isn't included. I'm glad you mentioned the Princess Plus/Premier options near the end of the video. These seem like really good deals depending on how much alcohol/soda/juices/cocktails/mocktails/bottled water/specialty & brewed coffees one drinks along with devices used to connect to the internet. We always eat about two times at the specialty restaurants during a week long cruise, enjoy wine, cocktails, bottled water and sodas so the Premier might make sense for us. Really looking forward to our next cruise. Thank you for the video!

    • @fluffytail6355
      @fluffytail6355 ปีที่แล้ว

I would suggest the premier package for you. While you get wifi, prepaid gratuities and alcohol/specialty coffee/smoothies/mocktails with Princess Plus, you also get 2 specialty dining with the premier package, daily fitness classes and unlimited digital photos plus 3 prints of your choice. I purchased Princess plus and will upgrade to premier once on board to pay the difference out of my onboard credit. Since I will be celebrating my birthday and 6th wedding Anniversary, we will get photos done during formal nights so the premier package will offer what we need for memories of our trip. My husband is an athlete so we’ll both enjoy the daily fitness classes too, which you usually purchase extra for (2 classes per week are allowed under the Princess Plus package).

You picked a difficult subject and I really appreciate your hard work! You mentioned about entertainment at several bars and lounges. Someone please explain for us newbies how standard fare cruisers can enjoy these bar and lounge entertainments with our standard fare class. Do we just walk into the bar/lounge with a glass of water from an included restaurant? I find the Princess Padder does not tell you which items are inclusive and which are not. For example the Padder you show in the video has 7:00am Total Body Conditioning in Fitness Center (included?);10:30am Live Acupuncture in Crown Grill (included?); and 11:00am Master Hair Class in Take 5 (included?). The Padder to me is kind of like a restaurant menu with no prices, and we'll tell you after you order (look at your folio). Anyway, thanks for taking on this important subject!

Gord Allen, both Princess Cruises and Celebrity have good reputations. Depending on your preferences (e.g., dining options, cuisines, activities, categories of cabin, health & fitness), you might find one slightly better than the other. Princess is part of the Carnival Group (which comprises nine cruise-lines, including Holland America), whilst Celebrity is the premium cruise-line in the Royal Caribbean group. From all that I have read, Royal Caribbean has the best loyalty-programme for most travellers, and the most benefits from the earlier tiers. So do your research and comparison not only by ship and class of ship within a fleet, but also across cruise-lines....

Whatever price you see in the first screen, assume you're going to pay twice that amount by the time your trip is done. So many fees are not included in the first screen, as you go through next screens, you'll see how things add up quickly, crew gratuities, this fee, that fee, tax, etc. I'm talking about just cruise price without wifi, drinks and excursions.

The difference (and why I no longer go on Princess) is that they charges extra for these. There are silly clubs for wine, coffee, water, sodas and ice cream. You must purchase wifi and pay for excursions and "good food" at specialty restaurants. Many lines, particularly high-end, include all this (and tips) in a single price.

Most videos I have seen from different cruise lines, as well as several bloggers, have yet to show close views of the pools. My concern, and question, may not be one that too many people care about, but as a senior adult who loves to cruise but has had several falls and broken bones, I found myself on a ship whose swimming pool had no steps to get into it only ladders - my friend convinced me to swim, which this might be a funny story one day but it wasn’t then, I ended up being stuck in the pool! A passerby was very helpful in putting their arms around and under my shoulders to lift me. Mortifying. My question is, is there a way to find out what Princess ships actually have steps going into their pools. I really want to cruise again as I haven’t since before the Covid pandemic, but I also want to be able to swim and get back out of the pool.

Now, they are all rubbish and I don't have any loyalty to remain with Princess anymore. My next cruise is in 60 days and I will see how it goes, but I am not expecting too much from it.
