Thank you! Is it possible to export thoses categories so that I can use them in other system or use them as a backup?

Unfortunately you can only do backups (exports) of courses not the course category structure in the web interface.

@@teacherstudent7330 Thank you so much, do you happen to know if there is such a plugin that could do that in the web interface?

@@alissonts6574 I did some research but there seems to be no plugin that backups categories only. It's always in combination with the courses. The closest to what you are looking for might be this plugin (not sure if that helps though..): moodle.org/plugins/local_catdup

Moodle how to put visual in front category name?

Hi Any with the standard Moodle themes this is unfortunately not possible. However, there are a few themes that are more flexible and you can add images to the categories. To do that you would have to download a new theme for your moodle site though.

You edited miscellaneous as the parent category, and that was wrong .You should have created a parent category from scratch

Hello Teddy Bear, thanks for your input. The Miscellaneous category was entirely empty after deleting the course. This enabled us to use it as a fresh parent category. If you like to keep your empty miscellaneous category and create another one that is also fine.
