I don't know about anyone else but when I drive past a house that has grass/weeds growing up in the cracks of the driveway I just wanna get out and weed whip them down! So satisfying watching you do it! If I was physically able I would! Thanks for all you do and continue doing!
I lived next door to an abandoned property with a small front yard like that. I mowed it...that small literally takes me 5 to 10 mins to zip over it with a few passes. I couldn't look at that every day and not knock it out.
It is just absolutely criminal how that house is just rotting away . It's gorgeous. Maybe your makeover will catch the eye of someone who can love it back to life. You guys did an amazing job as always!
It's probably a complete mess inside. Roof leaks have most likely destroyed all the drywall inside as well as the roof joists and foundation. It will need a complete gut and rebuild. Not to mention there is probably a large lien, insurance claim or mortgage due on it.
Looks like someone just gave up on the needed repairs or ran out of money doing so. I'll bet if someone had the means that would be a beautiful house and property! Brian and Justin, I think you probably gave that place a second chance for the right owner! Great Job!!!!!!

I find myself wondering if it was abandoned because it’s full of mold and mildew due to what’s left of that tarp on the roof having been torn to shreds. Even so, couldn’t the house be gutted to the brick bones and rebuilt? Sad, very sad.

I understand the liability on removing the vines from the house but I was happy to see you cut a lot of them at the base so they’ll die out. Beautiful house and you two helped it shine just a bit. 💜

@Lee Francis if notices to owners don’t get responses (including banks) my town sends the parks department to mow a property and puts a tax lien against it to eventually get reimbursed. It takes a neighbor making a complaint for that process to get started.
This beautiful little home was a tragedy. I don't know how anyone could have abandoned it. Yes, it needs work, but I can only imagine how gorgeous it would be if renovated. The yard was a disaster. It's always hard for me to believe that the neighbors couldn't have mowed it once in a while. I know my husband would have, for sure. It's a sad world that we live in when we can't be good neighbors. You and Justin did an amazing job, once again!!!
Unfortunately, the neighbors don't step past the property line. I did think the same thing, but sometimes it takes a big push to make a small effort. As time went by, the small effort became a big push. Brian and Justin took up the challenge, and made it look welcoming at the end of the day.
Sad, but when the homeowner can no longer afford basic repairs, especially roof repairs, you’d be surprised how much interior damage it causes and there’s probably a mold issue at this point. Beautiful house but it’s no longer considered a fixer upper. Great cleanup for the neighborhood though!

I see places where I live and owner dies or moved to health facility and family doesn’t live close by to care for property. I think that is often the reason we see so many of these overgrown places. Y’all are good folks to do this. Maybe this will put property up for sale.

That’s how I would be too! Even just the front yard , the neighbors could take turns , but that’s just me . I try n help my neighbors with different things , they have lawn services but I do other things to help them . ( and I’m no spring chicken myself..lol )
With vermin possibly running rampant which will affect the homes nearby I think that the neighbours could come together to cut the grass ( not all the time but when it seems like it is getting out of hand) especially in the front of the house.
Can you imagine how the neighbors might react when they come home from work and see that ...Wow ...I would have to keep going out to just look at it...Probably have to get a coffee ,sit in my garden and just admire the cleanup..

This house looks like a post WW II home. Well built with brick and mortar. The yard looked like it was well loved also. I know we didn't see all the landscaping . However with the layout of bushes and vines, along with the steps and patio it is obvious someone cared. What a shame! I'm only speculating, but it looks to me like the house suffered either storm damage or a fire. I bet it was hard for whoever owned this house to abandon it. Maybe with the yard cleaned up someone will see its potential and bring the house back to the living. Thank You M.Mix

In 1994, I lived on a street that a homeowner moved out during the night and the home went into foreclosure. My neighbors & I took turns every week mowing and trimming the front yard. 1 neighbor knew how to turn the water on @ the meter, so we watered the yard to keep it nice. You 2 are awesome and I really enjoy your videos.

It’s very common in my state of VA. I just can’t figure out how it got in someone’s backyard. Surely no one purposely planted it!

Architecturally, that's a nice looking little house and - by the now uncovered flower bed edging, and such - you can see it was once a very much cared for home. With the tattered tarps on the roof - put there due to leaks, perhaps - it looks like not just the lawn became the problem. Makes you wonder what happened to the family to get to this state ? Perhaps a foreclosure due to job loss, illness, etc. ? Just sad all around. But you did a very nice job of it, tidying it up.

If this was a foreclosure, the bank that owns it should be seriously fined for allowing the property and the house to deteriorate so badly. It clearly needs a new roof and not fixing it is just asking for interior problems that could be avoided.

This house looks like a post WW II home. Well built with brick and mortar. The yard looked like it was well loved also. I know we didn't see all the landscaping . However with the layout of bushes and vines, along with the steps and patio it is obvious someone cared. What a shame! I'm only speculating, but it looks to me like the house suffered either storm damage or a fire. I bet it was hard for whoever owned this house to abandon it. Maybe with the yard cleaned up someone will see its potential and bring the house back to the living. Thank You M.Mix

In 1994, I lived on a street that a homeowner moved out during the night and the home went into foreclosure. My neighbors & I took turns every week mowing and trimming the front yard. 1 neighbor knew how to turn the water on @ the meter, so we watered the yard to keep it nice.

Thanks for helping it feel better for a little while anyway. 😊 One if those plants along the fence line is called cow itch. Be careful around it. It causes a very itchy rash. It’s very common in my state of VA. I just can’t figure out how it got in someone’s backyard. Surely no one purposely planted it!

Architecturally, that's a nice looking little house and - by the now uncovered flower bed edging, and such - you can see it was once a very much cared for home. With the tattered tarps on the roof - put there due to leaks, perhaps - it looks like not just the lawn became the problem. Makes you wonder what happened to the family to get to this state ? Perhaps a foreclosure due to job loss, illness, etc. ? Just sad all around. But you did a very nice job of it, tidying it up.

Major difference, it looks much better! I’m surprised that none of the neighbors mowed the front at least, and I’m glad that you did. This looks like it was a nice house at one time. Neighbors have to be appreciating your work, while neighborhood looks better & less habitat for insects & rodents.
If this was a foreclosure, the bank that owns it should be seriously fined for allowing the property and the house to deteriorate so badly. It clearly needs a new roof and not fixing it is just asking for interior problems that could be avoided.
