Back in '78, looking for my first car(1st gen Monte Carlo) couldn't find one. My father suggested the Cutlass as it was similar platform. Found a nice low mileage '71 Supreme SX. The 455ci was scratched off the breather cover (to mask the gas guzzler underneath)dad knew better as the 455s were blue. My dad test drove it. At one one point he said "wow, you cannot help but spin the tires!" I was "yep, we're getting this one"😁 0:35

What a year for cars I grew up on these I even own a 1970 Monte Carlo to me this is the holy Grail of cars!

old drum brakes should self adjust if you go in reverse and hit em hard, will also take the glaze off....just my opinion
Old drum brakes often have seized adjusters so the self adjustment is often worthless

Darn nice Olds! After some basic work that would make an outstanding cruiser.
We all think of drum breaks as dangerous but in fact they were/are quite decent. Front disc conversion could be done in your driveway but not absolutely needed.
My 74 Olds Cutlass 350 Rocket 4 barrel was a performer and would throw you back in the seat. She'd catch tire in every gear and was an automatic of all things. When I sold it in the 80's, a race driver wanted it for the motor. I'm surprised that this car you're selling didn't have that much power.
I had a 70 Delta 88 and it would do the same thing .when you floored it hold on!! This one needs rebuilt imo

This olds cutlass is a good driver. It's a cruiser would put new carpet or dye it good price.
I had the same year except dark green. Mine had manual drum brakes and power steering, 350 rocket. That car sounds great even with single exhaust.
Exhaust needs serious help...Car is fine though 😊

I can’t believe your mechanic puts all these cars on the lot without doing the most simple repairs. Wipers-fan-horn-radio-brakes-turn signals. Gives the impression that the cars were not maintained or driven. When nothing on the dash panel works, I stopped watching. 🙄
Sounds to me like kickdown is not connected and secondaries not opening if it is a four barrel carburetor.

Love the car!🤠 Inside dome light , Blower & Horn is a 20 fuse. The Brakes are easy...1500 get sandpaper & Ace brand silicone spray will free up grabbing.🤠😎 Cool ride though.

Decent upgrade to front disc brakes, hook up kick down cable and I'd have to have duel pipes on that. Olds rocket350 can be a potent engine.
That carpet was 70s lime but hey the car is sharp

Since you decode the motors anyway, why don't you give the factory horsepower and torque rating for each. Then you can say if you think if it's been raised over that. Instead of just saying it has plenty of power- just to give a guy some idea number wise. But thanks for the great videos- that would just make them even better.
