+Håkan Jansson It would be generous to even call her remark a 'straw man'. It doesn't even qualify as that, she simply asked him to define an ambiguous word which she herself wasn't willing to do. Quite remarkably bad argument, not to mention quite rude.

Haha this woman, what is she even trying to do. "but... what is... what is... for you, the only truth is what can be evidenced". YES! That's what he JUST talked about. When someone tried to argue against pure reason, it usually turns out to be such a forced, awkward and non-sensical question or statement.
But yes, excellent interview/discussion with Richard Dawkins, he's so good at explaining his mind, and it's really awesome he explained that atheists aren't excluded from experiencing and admiring good music/art what have you. That's just absurd to think.

"But why did Bach compose music?"
Oh, I don't know. Surely not because he grew up in a predominantly musical family and because he thus became a multi-instrumentalist at a very early age. Surely not because he studied music at a highly selective and prestigious musical school. Surely not because his entire career revolved almost exclusively around music throughout Germany. And surely not because the churches of the time were some of the richest patrons for whom you could work, so of course they'd pay good money for you to write them something that's dedicated specifically to their dogma.
But religion has no monopoly over emotion or spirituality. These are inherently human attributes that do not presuppose a superhuman controlling power which actively interferes in the events of our world.

3:20 Such a stupid comment, why should it be considered "wrong" or inferior to do something for money? We live in a world that is ruled by the economy, this is not a bad thing - this is how the world continues to function, by having a stable system that binds us all together, so that you do work in exchange for currency, instead of stealing or by other means.

The trouble with the need for evidence as truth is that evidence is not always objective. Truth is often subjective. For example: Many people as former atheists have taken psychedelics and then after have sometimes given up their atheist ideas because of their profound experiences.

Why are people who believe in a religious "God" so insistent and desperate that others should do the same? And some are willing to kill / punish other people in defense of their "God" (which is really their ego).
I would regard myself as a spiritual person in that I believe I am a part of forces bigger than myself - Nature, the Universe, God, whatever you want to call it - but I don't try to impose that unto other people.
I just care that people are kind and considerate of other people.
It is easy to go along with the belief systems of the majority (and never think for yourself), but it takes a lot of courage for someone like Richard Dawkins to speak the way he does based on science. 👍🏾👍🏾

If the biblical stories are true because they followed us a long time, are all stories true which follow us a long time? Are Japanese fox spirits real? Is the native American narrative of the Slayer of Alien Gods real? What about Homers work? Thats certainly around for a long time now. Are ancient Egyptian gods more real than any other story because they have been around the longest? Stellar logic is stellar.

  • @Magnus_Loov

@ 2:24 So is the lady more or less is saying "Bach wrote music inspired by God and the church and therefore god exists".
As if human art and creativity is proof of there being an ultimate "creator" in form of a God (or gods) when of course it is the other way around.
We created the concept of "Gods" inspired by the wonder of nature.
I mean, I am surprised that people can reason like this to this day. It's not 1815, you know!
But looking at the body language and the general attitude from the two ladies even before Dawkins started to speak (in the first part) you can clearly see that they are not happy by his appearance. They are very much prejudiced against him from the get go.
Here comes this evil man, a not culturally accepted scientist (in contrast to us creative humanist who are into art which is "Good") who dare to question bigotry and falsehoods based on belief, that actually has done so much harm on a whole for human kind.
A man that in his mostly gentle ways try to educate people about how the world really looks like.
No, we shouldn't have that. Fairy tales are still "Good enough". Or "God enough".

Religious people don't like to think they're wrong because they can't imagine that they, the world and mankind have been following or believed in something completely wrong for so long, "So you're saying mankind has believed in something wrong for, for example, 2000 years? Pfft what are the chances of that? Haha...No, god must exist, we couldn't have been so wrong and stupid and foolish for so long"
People created gods, spirits and such thing because they didn't have the necessary tools to prove something like "Why does it rain?" or "Where does mankind come from?". God was an answer to these questions, and then that answer stuck for some years and people thought "well we couldn't have been wrong for 5 years with this, it must be true" and then it passed to 20 years, then 100 then 500 then 2000 and now we are here...."We can't be wrong, we have always believed this and you're telling me its fake, nah that isn't possible".

Darwin's words: "I can indeed hardly see how anyone ought to wish Christianity to be true; for if so, the plain language of the text seems to show that men who do not believe, and this would include my Father, brother and almost all my best friends, will be everlastingly punished, And that is a damnable doctrine." I do not want to abide in Darwin and his words, his mantra was: "Survival of the Fittest" these words are earthly, sensual, devilish and hell is behind it. There is no hope in Darwinian Evolutionary Religion only death and destruction. Those who preach evolution as a fact of science are irresponsible; as they promote immoral behaviour by the back door. There will eventually be curfews in towns and cities; this is the beginning of sorrows, but it will all end in tears at Armageddon. On the very day of this battle; the Lord Jesus Christ will descend from heaven in order to stop man; destroying himself through selfishness and greed. Jesus will settle his account with mankind, having destroyed the Antichrist and his kingdom. Jesus said, that lightning would flash across the sky from the east unto the west on the day when the Son of man is revealed
I willingly abide in Jesus and his words, "Let him who hath ears to hear, let him hear" this was his mantra very often while teaching the people. Jesus made this statement because he knew that the majority were dull of hearing! Jesus warned men about speaking idle words, indicating he never spoke an idle word. Jesus said, love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, spirit and strength and love your neighbour as yourself. What an excellent moral recipe! That sounds about right to me, words of spirit and life. This is good doctrine, sound doctrine, flawless doctrine, sober doctrine etc. If the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a damnable doctrine as Darwin asserts; then where does that leave "The Origin of Species and Preservation of Favoured Races?" Kind Regards

Immanuel (Jesus) has already warned us, he teaches us how and where we must pray (each as individuals) and also warns men who harm innocent and unsuspecting children…
“Beware of false prophets, men who come to you dressed up as sheep while underneath they are savage wolves. You will recognize them by the fruits they bear.” - (Matthew 7: 15-16) -
“Do not call any man on earth ‘father’; for you have one Father and he is in heaven. Nor must you be called ‘teacher’; you have one Teacher, the Messiah.” - (Matthew 23: 9-10) -
“Take care that no one misleads you: For many will come claiming my name…” - (Matthew 24: 4) -
“Many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many; and as lawlessness spreads, men’s love for one another will grow cold. But the man who holds out to the end will be saved” - (Matthew 24: 11-13) -
“God is Spirit and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and truth.” - (John 4: 24) -
“I am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father except by me. If you knew me you would know my Father too.” - (John 14: 6-7) -
“When you pray, go into a room by yourself, and shut the door. Pray to your Father who is there in the secret place; and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.
In your prayers do not go babbling on like the heathen, who imagine that the more they say the more likely they are to be heard.
Do not imitate them. Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him.
This is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven,
Give us today our daily bread,
And forgive us the wrong we have done, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us.
And do not bring us to the test, but save us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever.
    Amen.
For if you forgive others the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, then the wrongs you have done will not be forgiven by your Father.” - (Matthew 6: 6-15) -
“Truly I tell you; if anyone obeys my teaching he shall never know what it is to die.” - (John 8: 51) -
“Pass no judgement, and you will not be judged. For as you judge others, so you will yourselves be judged, and whatever measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to you.” - (Matthew 7: 1-2) -
“Always treat others as you would like them to treat you: that is the Law and the Prophets.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” - (Matthew 7: 12-13) -
“I am the gate; anyone who comes into the fold through me shall be safe.” - (John 10: 9) -
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” - (Matthew 7: 21) -
“I am the resurrection and I am life. If a man has faith in me, even though he dies, he shall come to life; and no one who is alive and has faith shall ever die.” - (John 11: 25-26) -
“I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world”
    - (John 12: 47) -
“Whoever then will acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven; and whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” - (Matthew 10: 32-34) -
“The disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, It would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!’” - (Matthew 18: 1-7) -
“Where two or three gather in my name, I am there among them” - (Matthew 18: 20) -
“An expert in the law, [a leading religious Pharisee] tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. Everything in the Law and the Prophets hangs on these two commandments.’” - (Matthew 22: 35-40) -
“There is no greater love than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friends.”
    - (John 15: 13) -
"Stay awake, and pray that you may be spared the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." - (Matthew 26: 41) -
“And be assured, I am with you always, to the end of time.” - (Matthew 28: 20) -
“One of the criminals who hung there also mocked and taunted him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself, and us!’ But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Have you no fear of God? You are under the same sentence as he. For us it is plain justice; we are paying the price for our misdeeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’ And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ He answered, “I tell you this: today you shall be with me in Paradise.’” - (Luke 23: 39-43) -
“For it is my Father’s will that everyone who looks upon the Son and puts his faith in him shall possess eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day” - (John 6: 40) -

God is real, and he is a result of high intellegence, good morals, and a divine connection to your unconcious. He can be summoned thoroughly by people who possess these traits. He is not an entity, just our survival instinct; he is not an exterior force, he exists in our brains.
People who have gotten revelations, are people with Schizophrenia, who possess these traits. Examples are Muhammed, Buddha, and Jesus.

True Spirit is God. Mean-spirit and dishonesty is Man. What sensible man (in his right mind) would talk of "Hob-Goblins" and "Tooth-Fairies"?

The Supreme Originator of the seven heaven's and earth sent Prophet's and Messenger's starting from Adam to the seal and final Prophet Muhammad with one main message to the nation's and people that is they bear witness to there is no true God worthy of being worshipped except Allaah Exalted and Most High! Jesus was a Messenger of Allaah and his name was Eesa ibn Mariam known as Jesus son of Mary. The Qur'an is a confirmation of what came before it and is the real speech uncreated from the Lord of the universe glorified is he indeed everyone.
Kindest regards from Sageer Alam from heart.
