I just made “Reach for the Stars” quilt for my breast cancer survivor daughter in-law. She is having her first baby in November and we don’t know the gender so it is in pinks, blues and creams. I couldn’t be more proud of this young woman and her strength to persevere!
Happy about how the quilting community is supporting breast cancer awareness in so many ways.
This is one of my favorite give-aways. I love pink! After 5 sons and a husband, once the sons were all out of the house and my hubby passed away (4 Years ago) I had my bedroom painted a lovely shade of pink! It is my go-to room. I just love it. BTW: I'm 86, I had to wait a few years! lol cddddddddddd

My favorite quilt using pink is the Moonstone quilt. I choose all the pinks for this quilt. Watching your videos, I am happy with the way it came together
I bought my quilting machine because I wasn’t able to keep up with all of the breast cancer quilts I was making for friends. I still do breast cancer quilts, but I have been through my own journey with breast cancer. It only took one year of not getting my mammogram. I was blessed with so many friends who walked me through it and my family who supported me through it.
Pat, Thanks you for being so relatable. showing us your little mistakes and corrections really encourages me through my many errors. thank you for sharing daily experiences, caring for ourselves and how to be such a good friend. I especially liked your reference to Shultz on an earlier video. Hogan's hero is my husband's and my go to show. Please continue to share your quilting skills with us.
I have an app called “Day One”. I’ve written entries for over 10 years. I journal / chronicle my daily life. It might be a photo, a comment. Maybe something that inspired me or maybe a quote that me laugh. Sometimes it’s just a list of places to travel or books to read.
I love the bags. I like working with the soft and stable. And your thread colors and so yummy . Looks like candy and ice cream.
Missed this morning… I loved to write and taught English and writing. Need to get back to it
I love to write too…and loved typing. I find creating stories helps create my quilts too. Does that sound crazy? SLOC has been a favorite quilt along. Thanks for taking us along.

I did not make a pink quilt, but my grandmother made one for us for our wedding 60 years ago. It is a double wedding ring with a bubble gum pink background. We used it for a long time. Now needs some repair.
Thank you for supporting Breast Cancer awareness. Breast Cancer is a very real threat in my Family. I have a November B-Day and always try to get the Mammogram around then, in thankfulness for another year Cancer Free. I am a 28 year survivor of Thyroid Cancer. But lost my Mother to Ovarian Cancer and her only Sister to Breast Cancer. Love the By Annies Products and the cute little basket. Love making bags as well as quilts.
I love writing things of childhood and nature. But mostly now I write spiritual things.

I do enjoy writing about things that come to my mind or something I observe while having coffee on my porch. I post it as a “Porch Report” on my personal page. I’ve received some positive comments, which is very encouraging.
I recently made a beautiful rag quilt for a baby girl- all in pink!!!

By Annie patters are easy step by step patterns to do . I have done several and gave them as gifts.
My favorite quilt made with pink is called Manx squares. This is a summer quilt, there is no batting or backing. You use a base square and use a middle square then use strips around the square.

My mammogram is scheduled - I never miss. I lost my best childhood friend to breast cancer after a nine-year battle and I miss her all the time. The Reach for the Stars quilt is beautiful and so fitting for "Sew Pink". Your videos are a regular part of my morning - thanks for doing them.

I love to write, I have a journal I write in frequently but should write more stories down. I am retired IT, so we have a lot in common, mine was network infrastructure (switches, servers, routers, security cameras, printers)and supporting the enterprise applications.
Pat, thank you for telling us the pattern names from quilts you show us. I bought the Perfect 10 book when I fell in love with your Banana quilt several months ago. Your Birthday Cake quilt is also very pretty! I need to look through my LC stash and pick one out for the Banana quilt and also for Birthday Cake. I was admiring the quilt before you told us what the pattern was...and then I find out I already have it! 😂 In another comment below Michele is so right that seeing a quilt made in actual fabrics, as opposed to just colored diagrams, makes such a difference. Yours is so pretty! And your Spooky quilt with your purple fabric background will be so cute. I finished mine last night and it's ready to quilt. I've thought about making another Spooky quilt so I can give one to my grandkids, and if I do I'll use a purple dot background from my stash. Thanks for inspiring us with ideas!

I absolutely love Soft & Stable. It changed the way I make bags. I am currently carrying a purse I made using Soft & Stable. It still stands up on it's own and I have been carrying it for almost a year. Love Annie and her tutorials

As a survivor my journey was fairly simple, I definitely encourage all women to get a 3 D mammogram. Early detection is key. Know your family history. I love to quilt but I love my quilting buds even more. We had 3 ladies in our circle diagnosed.

I do like writing. Especially longhand. I've kept a journal fairly regularly for the past 25 years.

Have ordered a pkg of Soft and Stable, it has shipped so it's on the way. Had my mammogram...all clear this time. Grateful for that. I really like her patterns, I made my girls the travel makeup bags and they love them, You can hang them on the door in hotel rooms and everything is there. They were really easy to make

I bought the Perfect 10 book and ruler when you showed it previously. This quilt (or maybe coffee from that book) is in my queue for a quilt with the pure vida batiks! I have three tops to finish first tho. I do wish FQS would put actual photos of finished quilts in these books. Colored diagrams are nice but when I splurge for a book, I want to see what the items really look like worked up. Your birthday cake quilt is so lovely!

Thankyou for promoting Breast Cancer. As a survivor I would encourage younger women who may think it won't happen to me. Now that it can and does affect younger women. If in doubt get it checked out and a second opinion if your not happy.

So guess I just comment w/what I sewed pink...a wall hanging w/large pink breast cancer ribbon on it. I donated to our local Victory Center for cancer survivors. I am now 5.5 yr survivor!
