"Make bonsai now when you're young. You will enjoy your perfect bonsai when you're old" *see a young bonsai artist with a bunch of perfect bonsai trees*
Apriza Yutama people make a living off bonsai trees. It can be a hobby for people like me but equally it can be your lifestyle. When you see a 30 year old with a 200 year old perfect tree, there is no question that the tree was bought, not trained by that person
Hi! I enjoy all ur vids. Question: in this type of Junnifer, can you do all this work and some root pruning and repot it all at once or is too much for the tree???
I am no expert but I thought bonsai was meant to represent nature in some way. In this demonstration the dead wood is all upright while the green part is windswept in one direction. So what happened? Just one half of the tree was exposed to strong wind? The part of the tree that got struck by lightning and died never experienced any wind? Pretty unrealistic IMO. And it's not as if Bjorn was going for one of those highly formal idealised not natural shapes. I don't question the technical skill of the execution but I am not sure about the aesthetic result.
It is true that bonsai are very often meant to mimic natural trees, but many contemporary bonsai aesthetic styles are more abstract and aim to create an artistic work more than a representation of nature. Also, if I understand you correctly, you're critiquing the windswept style that Bjorn finishes with. This is actually a named style of bonsai, and can be found on seacliffs where winds contort the growth patterns of the inhabitant trees, killing new growth in one direction so that the tree's foliage is characteristically asymmetrical, mostly concentrated on one side of the tree. does this answer your question?

Mui lindo me gustó mucho se nota que save .
When the artist is good, the material doesn't really matter :)
MrScheiby I think the material is quite nice. It's already have developed nebari and good branches.
Yeah sure. I would like to have this material. Just thinking it's not the best demo-material. ;)
It does matter. I think u mean it matter less.
try demo'ing a thunderhead mugo pine and tell me the material doesnt matter lol

ohh my god jejejeje great job.....
Top.
not a big fan of the art style of bonsai lately. Way too much jin/shari for my taste. This looks more like tanuki than a singular tree
KỸ THUẬT CAO THẾ
subtitle indonesia please
Watching bjorn use that knife is cringeworthy, was waiting for him to cut him self😳
it's painful i think
too much of dead trunks
Its a matter of taste
That's a bush, not of bonsai pal
LoL. Hater
