I disagree with everybody saying Agatha don’t care about Teen after finding out he’s Billy, I think one thing this show has done is show a good job at Agatha masking her true feelings, and why she has to do that to protect herself, as she said in the beginning of the episode, “Mercy is overrated.” So even at the end of the episode before the turn when Agatha said, “Come, Pet.” To Billy. Remember Agatha named her pet after her son and one wouldn’t dare mess with a pet of Agathas so I believe she still cares about Teen, and the show possibly ends with her having to save him somehow because in the comics Agatha is a nanny. She’s actually not this super villain.
I think you're so right! Agatha is a nuanced and layered character who clearly cares for Teen. Her mother said the most horrific thing possible to her then her entire coven tried to abandoned her. Add on top of it Teen not believing it was an accident! I think this is just her way of protecting herself. I also hadn't thought about the "come, pet" line being tied to her actual pet being named after her son. Good catch!
Wiccan is a bit more complicated than being Wanda's son. I don't know how it's going to work in the show, but in the comics when Wanda's kids died their souls were sent back in time and born into bodies that were raised by different parents, so they're simultaneously Wanda's kids and the kids of non magical/super powered couples. In the comics he started out as a member of the Young Avengers called "Asgardian" who has lightning powers and it was slowly revealed that his powers were more mystical and he was related to Wanda. Agatha in the comics is much less evil and is more of a motherly nurturing figure to Wanda and her kids, so the show could go a number of different ways since they've changed her so much.
They are simplifying that whole head ache arc that only occurred because they didn’t have a clear vision for the kids from the start like they did when they introduced them in Wandavision. They are going to say Billy soul, probably by way of Rio, made his way into Billy Kaplan body after the car crash. Now the question is where is Tommy.
31:00 it was obvious that Rio was protective in that scene. Rio is the first one to put her head down and wince after hearing those words from her mom. Also when the ghost comes at Rio you see her actually look shaken for a sec. And that is when Agatha, who is clearly, scared of her mom still, takes a deep breath and goes down to confront her mom.
The tarot cards they’ve included so far are Three of Pentacles in ep2 when Lilia writes the coven list, which represents teamwork. Then Jen’s card when they meet at Agatha’s, the High Priestess, which generally represents intuition/wisdom. The next card is Agatha’s when they’re trying to heal Teen in ep4, Three of Swords, which typically represents extreme grief. And finally in this episode, Lilia calls Alice’s card when she jumps-in to protect Agatha, Knight of Wands, which generally represents daring to face a challenge. That’s just a very summarized overview, though. You can deduce a lot about each character from the cards they’ve chosen for them. They also released a few additional promotional cards: Lilia’s is Queen of Cups, typically representing compassion. Billy/Teen’s is the Tower, typically representing upheaval/revelation. And Rio’s is Death, which generally represents profound transformation/rebirth.
Thank you for this information!!!! I couldn't believe I missed her saying Tarot cards for 4 episodes now! What a great story telling device and so well thought out. I'll have to take a look at the promotional cards
A cool idea (not mine, but can't remember where I red it first) is that in WandaVision, E3, where Wanda sings to the twins - this is similar to Lorna's song for Alice, and this was the sigil, she put on both of her sons.
I believed Agatha when she said she couldn't control draining Alice's powers. When Teen was begging Alice to wake up, Agatha moved toward them, like she wanted to help in some way. When he yelled at her, that's when Agatha left the cabin. If you look at her face, when she's outside, before he confronts her, that's genuine remorse. I've always thought Maiden Mother Crone is the three stages of a woman's life.
11:10 I think it's because if what teen said in Episode 3: "Covens share burdens and blessings alike". 16:46 Fun fact: Spirit is the 5th element in witchcraft.
59:13 how fun that a show about women and featuring women could end up killing them off / using them as a prop for a male character 😂🔫 Also, Agatha is by far still the most popular character in this show bc of the huge wave of new viewers non top of the fans from Wandavision. Every mainstream viewer poll agrees to that. The whole reason we have the show is because she is so popular. If they ditch her after this show, I guarantee you half the audience from this show does not stay with the MCU. That includes me. I could be so in or I’m easily so out if she is.
SO AGREE WITH THIS!!! I don’t want to spoil the finale if you haven’t seen it, but I have thoughts on what happened to Jen, and how I think that was very smart. I think women really don’t feel represented by Marvel writing (at least I don’t), and shows like WandaVision and Agatha All Along being so popular mean we are hungry for women centered stories! Hopefully we get more.
No, Madison! Don't jump on the Mephisto train! Too many TH-camrs were burnt (😅) by it back in WandaVision. If you haven't found it yet, in the comics, the original story of Wanda's kids is that they were fragments of Mephisto's soul, and that's why when Wanda had kids in the show so many people were expecting Mephisto to show up as the big bad. And of course, as we all now know, it was Agatha all along. I think the show runners prefer their shows to be mostly self-contained, and to be grounded in personal relationships between characters that have been in the show. They will also wink at things or bait the fans (like Wanda's brother in WandaVision, or the mention of "an agent of Mephisto" in episode 3 here), but that's it.
Hahah! Sorry for bringing up Mephisto! I just assumed the ending would be some huge epic fight scene and thought Mephisto might be the way it happened. I’m not a comic book reader, so I’m definitely out of the loop on the storyline of Mephisto. Honestly, I like it so much better without him there. If you’ve seen the finale, I think the actual ending villain was a much better idea! Thank you for sharing the Mephisto lore. I appreciate it!
@WelcomeToTheWritersRoom I watched the last two episodes when they came out (and loved them 😭), but when I saw your intro covering those episodes, I just wasn't (it is hard to live up to ep 7), so I held off watching your video. Then so much life happened. I think I'm ready now. I'm also excited to hear your discussion on Dune, so I'll make my way over those two.
Calling the Ouija board a Hasboro game is a gross simplification of something they only bought the rights to as the board has roots in deep occult mysticism from 19th century America and was invented way back in 1886 and named itself 4 years later. What it really serves as is a tuning tool, to tune your frequency to certain lower vibrations.
I totally agree! I was pointing out that the writers seemed to be making a joke about Ouija boards having all of this lore and importance in witchcraft that you described but is technically owned by a toy company. That to me seemed to be the reason behind the "ages 3 and up" joke.

32:37 you nailed it. Last episode teen even says that was their fatal flaw for Sharon - not sticking together
Good point! I hadn’t even remembered that Teen said that!

True!!!!!
The Children's Crusade comic is a great exploration of Wiccan's character.
We'll have to check it out! Thanks!
Really like your reactions! I had fun commenting while I listened 😊
Thank you!! Loved the play by play of your thoughts!! Very fun to hear!

Woah! That would make a lot of sense. Another reason to rewatch WandaVision!
