I use wallpaper glue mixed with reptile sand to make sand dunes. I like the idea of using it for making trees. This tutorial is extremely helpfull and I will start making trees myself. And I agree spray glue is a complete nightmare.

Great stuff! As someone who also gets spray adhesive everywhere except where I want it, I'll definitely be trying the wallpaper paste powder out if I can get it.

A very good and cheap way to make trees thanks for educating me

You can use aquarium filter for the foliage, it's dirt cheap, the only minor thing is that you'll have to sprapaint it green. Man kan auch aquarium filter benutzen für die foliage, es ist sehr billig, das einzige nachteil ist das man es grün machen muss mit eine Sprühdose, aber die sind auch billig. Weiterhin wieder ein tolles Video, macht immer Spass!!
Mark Lewis I'm out there too. No, it's not a quaking aspen, but it think the simple wire technique and the basic trunk style could be adapted. Of course you would need different color foliage. I'm thinking cottonwood would have to be the 20+ wire, covered in rubber paint. I've only done the pines and the scrub juniper so far. If you've done cottonwood, how did you do it?
very realistic trees that does drop it's leaves :D fanstatic :D well, still prefer glue spray (have a box with a fan pulling air out of the room and outside) so it keeps the glue in the box if you miss the tree , which you will)

Nice twist of the wire tree technique. But using white glue for the trunk seems a bit complex, I used Gesso (on green floral wire) successfully, it is easy to form, and give a nice texture (more important in O scale). Your foliage is great. I used woodland scenic "foliage", you don't see individual leaves, but it is very simple to apply with white glue or cyano. For fixing everything, I also use a final cover of mat varnish, which don't need to be selective.
Hi! Thank you for excellent comment with interesting information! Can you explain a bit what ”Gesso” is? I’ve Googled on it, but couldn’t find.. Wish you a nice weekend!
Gesso is a thick preparation paint for artwork. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gesso I use Super Heavy Gesso from Liquitex, very good for adding bark to a tree (I don't have experience with other brand or type of Gesso). I bought it on Amazon liquitex.com/superheavygesso/ Now I'm also using gesso to add some wood texture on brass bar to make (heavy) narrow gauge chassis. The gesso bond nicely to the brass. flic.kr/p/22Mev23 You just need to wait some days for the gesso to become really hard, if you applied a thick layer, but a normal layer will harden quickly.

Did you ever record a video tutorial showing how to build an American Aspen tree? This video mentions you were planning to do one but as this was 5 years ago and I can’t find any other Aspen videos on your channel, I’m guessing that you never did get round to it? I’m new to model railroad but need to make a few American Aspen trees for my On30 layout, I was SO hoping for that video 🙏 David F
Any chance of a reply to my message only I’m about to start making American has been trees I’m keen to know if you ever did get around to producing the extra video on these

Great video. Your enthusiasm is contagious!
Very nice. It really looks like the proper kind of tree. That's not easy.

Minus 10 in the winter? In Ottawa that's a warm Spring day. Nice trees. You are a very skilled modeler.
Great idea to use wallpaper glue for model tree's! ;) No smell and dryes transparent.

Hi Jesper! Yepp! I prefer spray glue today as well. I no more use this method with dry glue powder. But hey, it’s death-cheap and works good too

How to do the fall/autumn and spring version of the Aspen tree?
I tryed to do build a tree like yours.
The result looks good but the Wallpaper
glue takes a long Time to dry
Hi! Yes, the drying time can be long. I typically put my trees on a piece of Styrofoam, which in turn is put on top of a heat radiator.
For how long have you been doing this hobby? I love all the videos! My favourite videos when I’m tired😴🙂🙂

An example of US PVA-glue is Elmer Construction glue.
@@marklinofsweden thank you! I started with regular PVA because that’s what I had, but will grab Elmer’s Construction glue tomorrow.
-10 Ugh! Thanks for sharing.
I cant seem to find any of the items you use in this video, here in the usa.. what would be similar items to use? sikabond 530 cant find that
Hi! Any PVA-B glue will work. It’s that common white glue for indoor wood.
like Elmers glue?. seems like it would take a long long time to try if that's what you mean..
daytonpyro Nope.. Drying time is about 1 hour in normal room temperature. I use hair dryer, so then I can add second layer after only 2 minutes..
pls do you can build a araucaria tree ?
